Residence Inn Atlanta Midtown 17th Street

The property was convenient to our needs and the staff was polite competent and helpful. The only two things that lowered my rating were some serious problems with our plumbing- brought on by building renovations and the quality of the advertised breakfast.

THERE IS NO COMPLIMENTARY PARKING!! Front Staff "didn't know" what the rates were at garage 20 yards away, told me to walk on down and check myself?? It was as though she didn't want to share so we'd be forced to pay for Valet..?? Street parking is a max of 4 hours; I got a ticket for $35 because I failed to feed the meter on time. Wasn't told I could pay online by front desk...??? Again, pushing me to Valet I would guess. And too many strange people hanging out, drinking in front of hotel...?

Hotel wasn't bad. The location was great for why I was in town, but there weren't really a ton of options within walking distance for food and so on. Room was ok. Staff was friendly. Parking is ridiculous.

This is a hotel that is being renovated. Once the renovation is completed, it is a great alternative for a several day stay. At present, breakfast is being served in the lobby But, sin ce the rooms have kitchenettes with counter eating facilities, it's easier to bring the food to the room. The staff is very friendly and provides good tips for dinner locations and parking. This hotel is close to theater venues and amart museums. The area is safe and lovely for walking at any time of day.

I typically do not give poor reviews but this was the worse hotel we have ever stayed in. There was no hot water and they tried to tell us there was a hot water issue with the City of Atlanta. The elevators were stuck on floors and they sent no one to repair them. The rooms are old and not very clean and then there was the parking. They told us $18 per day but they did not mention that after 6 am no matter what time you get to the hotel it resets to another $18 so we paid $36 for one half day of parking. This hotel is terrible.

Parking was a bit complicated.. could’ve used Valet for the price we paid at what we thought was the hotel garage but instead was public parking and expensive. TV in the living area never worked.

Loved having a kitchen and large suite. Quiet except for the large dog in the room next to me that barked and woke me up several times. I had to call the front desk twice to complain. Also, the water was shut off for hours one day as the property is undergoing renovation. Wasn’t aware of that when booking. The gym was abysmal and the exercise bike didn’t work and there was only one elliptical. The bathroom shower dripped constantly and the water damage to the walls was gross.

I wish knew they we’re doing renovations before I book because I would’ve went somewhere else because the water situation was bad. I’ve stayed here before and it was great but this time it wasn’t.

Deafening construction started at 8am on a saturday.

Pros: Great location with lots of options for dining nearby. Friendly and helpful front office staff. Decent breakfast Cons: Very noisy air conditioning, uncomfortable sofa bed, $37 daily valet parking charge is steep though probably comparable with other similar hotels in that area

I’m appalled at the type of customer service that was given to me today. I went to check out and the gentleman that was working the front desk seemed very bothered that I walked around the corner to ask if he worked there. He was sitting in a computer as well as his phone looking at god knows what. When I asked him if he worked there he turned around and said how can I help you in a very nasty tone. I said I need to check out. He then goes through a door and comes to the front desk and rudely asks what room number, so I told him the room number you’re all set and then flung the cards that I gave him the room key and he flung them all over the floor. The room itself was very disgusting. There was dead bugs on the floor. The pullout couch mattress was completely utterly dirty. The toaster was broken when we went to go take a shower in the morning. All we got was hot water as if somebody did something to our room. I will never and I repeat. I will never visit this hotel or this hotel chain ever again. I would like a full refund from my stay as well as a full refund for my valet as well as a full refund on the hundred dollars to have a pet stay with us. I would also like the hotel manager to call. I am not a very happy customer at this time.

Place is almost in disrepair. Smelly and worn out hallways and rooms.

Spotless ! The kitchen was so clean I wondered if it had ever been used! The hotel is so quiet ! A friendly greeting every time we went out and returned.

Our stay started out rough on the 2nd floor- the room smelled bad and it felt dirty; we requested to move and we were given a room on the top floor (7th or 8th) and it was like night & day! It was beautiful! So roomy- it had a fireplace and beautiful views of the city. Open ceilings! We loved this room!! The parking was valet for 37.00 a night but it was very convenient. Staff were all nice. So avoid the 2nd floor! 😂

They hadn’t cleaned the hallways, elevators and walls and ceilings in rooms in ages. Didn’t dare take my socks off. They allowed me to cancel rest of stay, but had to pay premium price at another Marriot when I had booked over a month ago. So that cost me about 500 extra dollars.

The room was immaculate. Well spaced out. The bathroom was spotless. The shower was FANTASTIC. The shower was the BEST shower I've ever had. I'm a stickler for shower shelving, which there was plenty of. The amout of storage space (dresser, side tables, and bathroom vanity) were GREAT. The lighting over the vanity was truly amazing. Excellent for makeup application. Very well lit. The staff were amazing. The Breakfast staff were kind, extremely friendly, and courteous. I had to thank them after every meal. I will definitely be back.

Property is shabby. Needs upgrade. TV not working properly. Shower drain broken. Straight pins in carpeting by vanity sink. Safety hazard that stuck me in my foot but did not go deeply into flesh. No ice in freezer or ice maker at main desk. Facility needs a deep clean.

Hotel is clean, personnel very friendly, breakfast was great. Room is clean and the small kitchen is very convenient.

The room was far larger than expected, so much so that I had to double check to make sure I wasn’t charged more than I thought😉. It was my son’s birthday and a friend had left a “gift” at the front desk, and the next morning as I checked out, a different front agent wished him a happy birthday. Oh, and the city view was amazing.

1. The TV didn't work half my stay. 2. The room was consistenly cold even after I called for someone to turn it down. 3. The shampoo holder fell off the wall, it was 3 days before it was replaced. 4. There was no pan to cook biscuits. 5. It cost $40 per day to park, I had no idea. 6. It was on the 4th day that the maid came, trash was piled up in the room.

We’ve stayed here 6 consecutive years because it’s the perfect spot to watch the runners go by —Peachtree Roadrace. It’s one mile from finish line, so my husband walks back to hotel. It’s being remodeled and our room was lovely!

Great location and a well decorated room. Practically a studio with everything you need for a long stay. But wait until you go to bed. The AC sounds like a train and ferry boat combined. Horrible might.

Room had hazardous conditions. Broken glass mirror. And many fixtures falling off the wall. Tv in one bedroom didnt work. Furniture old and worn.

Reserved a room with a tub but given one without. Had room switched just to find out tub stopper didnt work properly. AC was locked on cool 65 degrees ans room was freezing cold at 63 degrees. Maintance came up and fixed thermostat stating we could now adjust it. But then the thermostat was now locked at 85 degrees on heat but temp read 92 degrees! Room went from an ice cube to a sauna. Only stayed one night and was 100% miserable! Couldn't take a bath, temperature was never comfortable ended up turning it off since front desk didbt sent anyone else back up to fix it, and the mattress was bad!

The staff was very pleasant and friendly. The room wifi was terrible and difficult to get the TV's to work consistantly.

Oiled hotel in Orbitz. Got to hotel late at night. No rooms available. Had to scramble to find another room.

When i 1st checked in there was no internet service, and the service continued to be out for a couple days. One of the male employees was very rude The little market area was always closed due to no internet service which was an inconvenience for the guests The female staff was very friendly and very helpful

Reservation had 1 person arriving for a 2 night stay and 2 people arriving for a one night stay. Hotel was contacted the day prior to arrival and reservation confirmed and was prepaid. 1st traveler - no hot water the 1st morning; when travelers 2 & 3 dropped luggage off to be held and entered the lobby there was a strong smell of marijuana; travelers 2 & 3 returned at 10pm after business and dinner meeting and told the hotel had overbooked and the reservation would not be honored; hotel refused to relocate the two travelers because the reservation was made through a "third party" Hotels.com. Hotels.com did offer to relocate when contacted at 10:30pm but travelers had found other accommodations and relocated. The room charges were refunded. Two young female attorneys turned away after 10:00 pm with all hotels in area booked. Reservations will never be made with the Marriott Atlanta Midtown Peachtree at 17th and a complaint will be filed with Marriott Corporate. This hotel is a terrible advertisement for the Marriott Group and there needs to be serious consideration to replacing the management.

Brittney (the employee who captained the breakfast room) was the best. Genuinely sweet and interested in everyone passing through. Among an already excellent staff she stands out.

The front desk staff were professional and courteous, offering a welcoming experience. The hallways and exterior are well maintained, creating a pleasant environment. The complimentary breakfast and WiFi were nice added perks. That said, the rooms are in need of renovation to match the overall quality of the property. The valet parking is convenient, and the staff were friendly; however, our rental SUV's bumper was unfortunately damaged by the valet staff. For future visitors, I recommend purchasing rental car insurance coverage to avoid unnecessary stress over minor damages. However, the rooms are in need of renovation to align with the overall quality of the property. Front desk service did not answer the phone; after several attempts I resolved to do without their support. I only cringe to think what could have happened if it was an emergency.

We encountered no major problems. All rooms here are spacious mini-suites with kitchens and full fridges and microwaves. The included breakfast in the Hearth Room was good, too. Hotel staff were unfailingly polite.

the only thing was the breakfast was terrible the staff walked by the food like they were taken care of it. But like the applies and oranges were rotten. One apple was so rotten that it weeping liquid from it not just part of it but 1/3 of it was black like a prune, The ketchp bottles were turned upside down and looked like maybe brown syrup on them. The bread for toast was hard not fresh. I was going to say something but what can you say when it was so apparent already. They walked right by! Both the staff working.
