So there was no pool. It was closed because they didn't have enough chlorine. The ice machine was broken. The sink in our room was broken. The toilet in our room was not secured to the floor properly. The room smelled like musty and mold filled. The bed was nice. We had a two night stay and got enough towels for one day. The first day we didn't get breakfast because there wasn't any until I called and complained.

Booked this property for a family reunion and had the opportunity to meet up with family two days earlier than the reservation. They were able to accommodate us so we did not have to change rooms. We even had the opportunity to do laundry for free! We stayed a total of five days and the staff was very friendly and efficient.

Had the grandkids along and they really enjoyed the pool and the waffles. Seemed to be a local family running the place with even the kids happily pitching in. Nothing beats the safety and peace of a friendly small town in Iowa.

When we got to the hotel and checked in, our room was hot even tho the AC was on and there were dirty towels left in the shower. After about 2 hrs, we returned to the hotel room even though staff said they would water the AC from the outside to see if it would cool off, the room was still hot. We requested a new room due to the ac not working. When we got the new room, the toilet did not have a lid, the shower head leaked and shower appeared not to have been cleaned as it had hairs, but due to us being tired from a long day, we decided to make the best of it. We will definitely not be staying there in the future.

Upon arrival doors all open, no one at front desk, just a phone number to call. Upon calling number and explaining who I was the obviously sleepy lady swore at me, taking the name of my Lord in vain. She came out without me seeing her, threw the keys under the accordion door at the desk and told me where the stairs we were - did not even check my ID!! Only briefly saw any staff. No one friendly. Breakfast just above terrible. No in room coffee. Carpet in room stained and needing a vacuum. Wanted to do everything by text. Will NOT recommend!

Overall experience was great with king bed and work station. However, 3 things that I noticed missing that most rooms we have stayed in over the years. No coffee pot in your room, no alarm clock and no glasses even to brush your teeth.

Overall a nice place. A couple of things that could be improved: 1) Roku TV service should be simpler; very difficult for average user, especially trying to access local channels for weather and sports 2) water pressure in shower needs much improvement

Didn’t book a room on 2nd floor for starters. Had a disabled elderly person with us & stairs are very hard for her to go up & down.The stairs were very unstable at that!!! Wood is broken under the carpet for sure! We had no light bulbs in a lamp, when I asked for a lightbulb at front desk, the gal looked for one & said she’d call if she finds one. Needless to say our room was quite dark at night & Never got a light bulb in 3 days! Water pressure in shower, there was none! Coffee pot didn’t work in the room either! Then on our check out day, check out is at 11AM, the cleaning crew dosen’t knock & tries to come in our room at 10AM!! I asked what they wanted & she replied “need to clean room”. I told her when we leave you can clean it - at 11AM!! That’s when check out is - not 10AM!!!! Very disappointed about that ISSUE!!! Who does that?? Pay Attention to your check out list!! Then go & knock on door. We were just waking up & getting ready to head out!!

Staff was very friendly! They went above and beyond when I told them the air conditioning wasn’t working in my room and moved me to another room that worked great! Asked me before I left if the new room worked better and told me to travel safe! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

We needed to change our arrival date due to a blizzard arriving Wed. Although usual check in is by midnight they were able to accommodate a 115am arrival. Also due to the power outage Thurs in dome rooms, including ours, they were able to allow us to have another that did have power until it came on few hours later

Room had a musty smell. The staff told me the motel was built on dirt, not concrete. Star did not take out the garbage so that accumulated. The motel was in a convenient location and the room was big.

The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The variety of items for the continental breakfast was quite limited, but sufficient and was adequately supplied during the advertised hours. Coffee, tea and hot water with assorted accompanying condiments were available 24 hours/day. We would stay there again whenever in the area.
