Stayed 1 night

We spent one night at the Hampton Inn in Coralville while visiting the U of Iowa. The TV in our room didn't work. When I called the front desk around 9pm to ask for help troubleshooting, they informed me that maintenance was no longer around for the day and that they couldn't help. Also, the shower-head was broken and the only setting for the shower was the very forceful and heavy three sprout stream of water. Breakfast was low quality as well. The scrambled eggs were pretty watery and unappetizing, and the breakfast biscuits were super chewy and tasteless. All of these little things added up and make me question if I will stay at a Hampton again. It was only $180 for the night, though. Maybe you get what you pay for?

Stayed 1 night

This was an OK stay but we had a few problems. -There was a mystery "beep" every 4 seconds or so in our room. Reception sent a maintenance worker, who said his hearing was bad and he couldn't hear it. We checked for an alarm clock in the neighboring room (there wasn't one), then he left to respond to other things. The beep continued the rest of our stay. We didn't have time to wait for maintenance again, so we just dealt with it. -The phone in the room wasn't working. The maintenance man reconnected a cord to fix it, but it didn't actually fix it. -We used the pool in the morning but they were out of towels. A staff person said they were just in the dryer and he'd bring some, but he never did. This might have been ongoing and explain why there was always water in the hall and the elevator. -There was no conditioner in the big bottle for conditioner attached to the wall in the shower. -There were many outlets in the room, which is great, but about half of them didn't work well. -There was one nightstand between the two beds, but there was hardly any room for anything with all the room the non-functional phone took. The positives! -Receptionists were all friendly. -AC worked great. -Room was very clean.
