The room was clean & everything worked. Lady that checked us in was nice. I We asked if they had a pool, but next time I will ask them for a thermometer to check the temperature of the pool water! It was freezing cold & I love swimming enough to get in a chilly pool, but it was very cold! The hot tub was very warm almost hot, so I didn’t go into that either. I’m fairly upset about it, because we code that hotel so we could get some excercise after driving all day. Very disappointed

I stayed in a spacious King room with a firm bed, which I prefer less firm. Breakfast was good, but the service during breakfast was below average. There’s no elevator, but with only two floors, it wasn’t a big issue. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. I also appreciated the flat, safe surroundings—perfect for a morning walk or run. Overall, I’d rate my stay a 3 out of 5.

My wife and I stayed for four nights. I had to ask for towels every day. Room was never cleaned nor was the bed ever made. I don’t expect new bedding every day, but the used towels were never taken nor replaced. I’m happy to re-use my towel if they would dry, but that never happened because of the humidity. Garbage was not taken out until after the third night. My main reason for staying there was because you have a hot tub. It was not working the entire length of the stay. Probably will not be back.

Found a shoe and trash in the room when we checked in. The bath fans did not work and looks like mold on the walls. Bathroom area very small and not very clean. Pool was not heated. Our room keys seemed to reset everyday and had to go to front desk to get new ones 3 times in 4 night stay.

Called before we got there and asked if the pool and hot tub were open. Was told hot tub was not open but pool was. The water in the pool was frigid!! We could not use it. When i said something the next morning i was told the heater went out. I wish they would have said something when i called earlier

Rooms were comfortable and clean. TV was small. Breakfasts were great. Pool was closed which was disappointing. We checked in on Wednesday and the pool reopened Saturday evening.

Everything was excellent except for the hot tub. Hot tub seemed to barely work and kids under 12 years old jumping in. Jets were barely working and water was warm not hot. And tows were not stocked at all

Staff was courteous and helpful, but the room (206) just couldn't handle the humidity. Woke up in the morning with a generally wet feeling; carpet was damp as were clothes that were laying out. Put the air conditioning unit on "dry" the night before, but to no avail. Not fun. Wife also had several bug/spider bites, though that was likely bad luck...

when we arrived in our room, the soap dish had soap residue caked in it. the carpet has not been vacuumed around the edges in a long, long time as around ever edge of every piece of furniture, was at least an inch of gray dust with many flecks of debris. I tried to call the front desk buy the phone didn't work. The end was broken off. When I went to the front desk she gave me a key to the only other room that had a king bed. That room was no cleaner as in the same issue with not being vacuumed. There were dead bugs along the wall and other debris. the bed had some sort of debris on it that looked like lint. Breakfast was okay but no one paid any attention to detail there either as they were out of items...coffee...sausage...etc. No one had cleaned up the counters or tables as they were left dirty from other visitors. Lobby had a container for cookies as pictured in the hotel description but there were never any in it during our two day stay. There was a lemonade container that was also full when we arrived but empty the rest of the stay which was fine as it was disgusting...line after line of white lines...like lime scale. Pool area was closed although no one informed us of it until we asked why the door was locked. When we arrived back to our room the 2nd night our keys wouldn't open our room. It took several minutes for the attendent to get it to reset. Will NEVER stay here again. We come to this area to visit family and have never had issues at other hote

The building was very humid … in our room it was so humid the sheets and carpet were damp. They did have dehumidifiers in the halls but it didn’t seem like they got emptied often enough. The microwave did not work. The tv worked intermittently. The toilet was a pain in the butt - the chain kept falling off when flushing and the tank wouldn’t fill unless you stuck your hand down in it to push the thing down to make the seal. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast has a lot of options. The pool and hot tub were good.

Front desk was very friendly. While walking down the hall to our room, stale cigarette/wet dog smell. Room appeared clean but also had the same smell. We opened the window yo let it air oit. Definitely helped. Everything in the room was sticky and not wiped down very good. Lot of finger prints on things. Kinda disappointed since we have stayed at AmericInn many times in the past and it has always been a great experience. Ypyr Spencer Iowa location need a serious makeover.

The unit #123 was smelly and damp. Carpet felt damp and entire room had an odor. The outside door did not lock at 11 pm and it was on main floor. The breakfast was completely empty of food at. 9 am. The four coffee pots were empty. . Very disappointed!

The bed was comfy but the furniture was in bad shape. The dresser drawers would stay shut. It looked like some one had taken a chain saw the refrigerator cabinet. We have stayed there before and property was well kept not so much this time.

First. I was put into a handicap room. Definitely an older hotel. The shower was a stand up. Mold was in all of the tiles. Bathroom fixtures did not work. 1 light and the exhaust fan. Second. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable. Coffee machine didn’t work. Room was next to the office area. Constant noise from it. Also had Freon smell in the room from the ice maker outside of the room or refrigerator in the room. The bed one day was not made. The covers were just thrown up on the bed. Had discussed with the desk person. Was informed there was not another room to go to. The couch was old and cushions were flattened and sunk into the frame. Overall horrible room to pay for much less to think that a handicap person would stay there. Definitely not staying at this hotel again.

The room was spotless, and staff went above and beyond to make my night the best possible. There is allot of shopping within walking distance and food. I stay 2 to 3 nights a week in hotels and believe this has been one of the best I have stayed at for a very long time.

For the price, we were extremely disappointed ($173, I believe). The staff took awhile to come to the front desk. The hot tub wasn’t working. There were no cookies because “they were too busy” (maybe that’s a good thing). When I asked for extra blankets, I was given a fitted mattress pad and a decorative half blanket.

The part i did not like was it seemed the front desk clerk was missing and i push the bell and called the phone and no answer for a long period of time. The place seemed deserted not a soul in sight.

The hospitality and service where wonderful. I could not drive home due to a blizzard. There was lovely, hot tomatoe bisque and fresh cookies waiting for us. I certainly did not want to get back out and try to find something to eat. The soup was perfect.
