DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago - Alsip

My flight was cancelled last minute due to weather. Booked this hotel because they have a shuttle. Only to find out I couldn’t use the shuttle because I didn’t notify them 24 hours before.

I guess my room was ok my floor was very noisy the kids was really loud. Which I know kids will be kids. But the manager on the shift at the time was too extra. Me and my kids couldn’t enjoy the pool because he was too busy making sure we had wristbands. Had us get out the water to put them on. When they was sitting in plain site on the table. It got to the point where he stood at the door like security and didn’t let you in if you didn’t have a wristband. I feel that if I’m not getting in the water and I’m fully dress.To watch my kids swim it shouldn’t have been a problem. And that was a HUGE problem. Not cool.

We did the park and stay. The shuttle worked out great for Midway. We called after we had our luggage on our hands and only waited a few minutes at the airport. Will definitely do it again!

The desk clerk Ms. Bentley upon my arrival I had a little difficulty with my payment. Ms. Bentley was very patient and her customer service was top notch. The problem was resolved in a timely manner. My room was nice and clean. The Spotlight restaurant and bar was very convenient for me. I ate dinner and had breakfast while staying at the hotel.

The property was nice had a great time at the indoor pool was warm and so much fun

I've already said this, however, since Expedia has sent me this email, I will report one more time. If management at the hotel would've clearly stated on Expedia that the airport shuttle requires a 24 hour advance reservation, I wouldn't have booked. I've stayed at many hotels and used the airport shuttle; the shuttle(s) run on a schedule.

Our scheduled shuttle to the airport was delayed over an hour so we shared an Uber ride. Unfortunately the flight was not going to wait ! Poor management on that service for sure---

I love me some Doubletree. Especially for a cheaper option that still upscale and elegant. It’s been one of my choices for years and I’ve never had a bad experience. My most recent stay I decided to try their room service which was a little high however the rigatoni was really good! They also have good drinks and specials for everyday of the week. Oh did I mention the pool is heated and rather huge! My kids loved the pool and I believe they teach swimming lessons as well. This place will remain one of my go tos nationwide.

The elderly lady that checked me in was extremely friendly! So my experience from the start started out amazing! We came for a staycation because my son wanted to go to a pool. The pool was huge! Clean & warm! Lots of clean towels for the guest and lots of tables and chairs! Beds were extremely comfortable and the covers were so soft and warm. Shampoo and conditioner smelled amazing! I will definitely be returning with my family!

The toilet in our room would not stop running, needed a flapper. We told staff about it yet they did not fix it. There were other guest surrounding us that were loud, yelling in their rooms and in the hallway at all hours, including overnight. The motel had a strict no smoking policy which was not enforced. The hallway smelled of burnt marijuana at all times. It was awful. Will not stay there again.

The hotel had many amenities and the staff was great. My main issue came down to cleanliness. My room was not cleaned properly. Thank God I have some cleaning products in my truck. There was dust build up all over the dresser so I had to dust. There was also visible dirt left all over the toilet seat and under the rim of the toilet. I had to clean the toilet myself to feel comfortable. I also had to clean the bathroom mirror because it looked like it was not clean. The hotel is older but not in bad shape. They need to do a better job making sure the cleaning crew cleans and sanitizes surfaces and pays more attention to detail. It seems like they just wipe things down. Also, they have a fruit fly problem at the bar. It was a little annoying trying to eat while having to swat away flies. It is a full service hotel, so the room comfort would have been fine if it was properly cleaned.

Very dirty. Someone vomited in the A/C unit. Not enough towels for three of us. Didn’t even clean our room the last day. Ran out of tp and Kleenex. Staff unfriendly and curt. The window hasn’t been cleaned in years. Never again. Over $200 a night!

Great clean and comfortable room. The hotel was really clean and quiet/peaceful. Great customer service and the Chocolate Chip Cookies are amazing!!!🌟

The staff was amazing, the parking lot had glass where someone had their windows broken out which did not make me feel safe. The foyer area was beautiful but the room was horrible, the floor was dirty, the tub was dirty, the bathroom was not clean, I will never stay here again very unacceptable!! Disappointed!!

Hotel rooms showing signs of wear and tear - definitely need a refresh (especially the bathroom - low water pressure, and hot water was only warm - fixtures were aging, not very clean, and not operating correctly. Finally, smell of pot was rather annoying and stuck in the carpet... need to do a better job of keeping people from smoking on site.

I thought the hotel in a whole was very nice, clean, quiet stay. The thing I didn't like was that when I pulled my covers back to lay in the beautiful, comfortable bed there was a super long piece of hair under the covers laying on the fitted sheet. So therefore I had to sleep on top of the covers and cover up with 2 bath towels, but other than that I'll definitely recommend and stay again

It was a nice property but a bit out dated and I wasn’t able to use my fire stick due to the WiFi.

Beds were very uncomfortable

Nice room, but toilet did not flush, we jiggled the float to refill water, could not connect to wifi, but did not spend much time in the room

The beds are very small and uncomfortable. Definitely not queen size beds.

Nice soft beds felt like I was sleeping on a pillow!

The heater made a terrible whining noise. It would wake me up in the middle of the night.

Rooms were tiny, digital keys/controls sucked. Lobby was amazing though. Breakfast was mid at best. Food was overpriced and tasted like garbage.

Very clean and updated tvs! Just needs better mattresses but we loved our stay!

Older rooms, can here the highway all night.

The hotel is a 2.5 star at the most! Housekeeping never came and removed trashed or tidied the room. Staff advised that service is not provided daily and to call but they only replenished towels and did not take the soiled ones away. Ended up having a pile of trash and towels in the room during 3 day stay. No thanks!

Front desk staff were extremely busy when we arrived, but treated everyone with genuine kindness and respect.

The staff from the start was horrible. I tried checking in and was told that I didn’t have a reservation which I clearly did since I booked with Hotels.com. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had checking into my reservation.

Check in was horrible especially considering the fact that I prepaid for all rooms. The staff was very rude at check in. They didn’t know how to pull up reservations.

We repaid for a group of ppl to stay here for a conference and the checkin process was horrible. The staff was rude to a lot of our members during checkin because they had a new system. During a couple of check ins they even tried to double charge our group at a point of time because the hotel doesn't get paid from hotels.com until end of month. When ALL rooms were paid in full in advance. They didn’t know how to look up reservations when it was multiple rooms on one reservation. The whole process was very unpleasant. When we use your hotel whenever our members travel in town to come to our headquarters church located in Riverdale, IL. We feel like they discriminated against a large group of our members during this process which is very unprofessional. We will no longer do business with the double tree. If you visit our website we have the double tree listed as our host hotel for when ppl travel in town to visit. We will remove them going forward due to the way our members were treated.

I got stuck in Chicago on a layover they were very accommodating to me and allowed me to check in at 1:00 a.m. staff was so kind and helpful and the warm chocolate chip cookie helped as well! I would definitely come back here

If I could give this location 0 stars I will would. Let me preface I’ve stayed at double tree countless of times and never had an issue. First, during check in the front desk staff was unfriendly and didn’t initially acknowledge us on arrival. I had to wait until she was done doing whatever was “more important” than checking me in. It took about 15 minutes. No apology. First red flag. Secondly, the toilet overflowed. I called the front desk 5 times before someone was sent to my room to assist. This was over an 2 hour span. Once maintenance arrived he fixed the toilet and instructed us to take towels and clean the floor. Are you kidding me? I asked him to please send housekeeping. Once house keeping arrived around the hour mark. They took towels and wipe the water up. I asked if their were any disinfectant measures. The lady pointed to the towels. I ask for the manager. The head of house keeping arrived and stated “We haven’t had a mop in 12 years” Whaaat?? I asked how were they disinfecting the floor. She stated with a towel and broom. I explained that I don’t do this at my own home and I needed the floor clean. I asked her to disinfectant the floor because toilet water had travel all over the floor onto the carpet. She finally came back over an hour later and after me contacting Hilton with a mop and wiped it up in about 2 seconds literally. I was thinking there’s no way this is clean, but I was tired of the battle. The whole time after that our room spelled like mop

Easy on and off the highway l, you plenty of restaurants close by the hotel.

No issues, 20 min from MDW Airport, clean, quiet, service desk support was excellent

For a “four star hotel”, some of the amenities are quite dated. The location is close to the amphitheater so it’s convenient for staying overnight after a concert. For the price per night, the hotel could be updated

Great southside of Chicago option. Easy access from the interstate and to multiple south suburbs. Lots of restaurants near by too.

I attended a wedding here and staying in the same hotel as the wedding made it very easy to get to the wedding and enjoy the festivities.

Every worker seemed like they hated their job. Paid $15 for the worst breakfast buffet I've ever seen. Every other hotel with breakfast included is better than what they offered. For some reason all drinks have to be ordered with the server. but the server was on his phone or leaning with his back against the tables. so i didn't get my second drink until after i was done eating. then he hovered over the receipt while I was signing it. which is uncomfortable when writing down the tip. Pool closed earlier than advertised time so i didn't get to use it. Hands down worst hotel I've stayed at.

The hotel was fine. Nothing amazing but no complaints. The food in the restaurant was good for breakfast and reasonably priced. Check in was easy. The pool was great and a decent size. Would stay there again.

The beer was cold, the cookie was hot, the sheets were cool, the breakfast was hot. And the stay was just right.

Lovely hotel in a stable neighborhood. We arrived on Saturday February 22, checked out on February 24. The hotel is clean and comfortable. We ate breakfast on the 23rd in the hotel. It was adequate, had lots of choices (French toast, oatmeal, sausage, bacon, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, assorted breads and rolls, cereal, coffee, orange juice, and fresh fruit) but one customer called it too expensive. I personally don't think it was, especially since it was all you can eat, the fruit was fresh, the waiter was very accommodating, and it was very convenient. Nobody forced us to buy it, but I'm glad we did. Unfortunately, we left a green coat in the closet. The hotel staff went above and beyond to get it to us as fast as possible. It will be here tomorrow. A hotel isn't home. It's the next best thing, and this one certainly was that!

The staff were great! The food was good! The building is dated. Guest had carry out food and it sat in the halls for 2 days. We stayed 2 nights. We didnt get new towels. We had to call down to the front desk. Also our room wasnt cleaned. The cookie is always a great treat!
