I came into town for work and booked a three-night stay at this hotel. The room itself was clean, which I appreciated, but nearly everything else about the experience was disappointing. At check-in I was told the pool was closed, which wasn’t an issue for me but could be for other guests. As I headed to my room, I noticed one of the two elevators was out of service, barricaded with caution tape, and sections of the hallway ceiling were covered in blue tape. The only working elevator broke down the next day it opened but wouldn’t move floors, so I reported it to the front desk. It was back working. Throughout the property there were advertisements for food service at the lobby bar, but when I went down after work to order dinner, I was told they were out of food entirely. On my last morning, I woke to a notice slipped under my door saying both elevators were now out of commission, and guests would need to use the stairwells. These were concrete, unventilated, and miserably hot given the weather, making it especially difficult for older guests or anyone with luggage or physical ailments. When I raised concerns at the front desk, the staff member brushed them off as coincidence and offered no assistance or solutions. No luggage help, just a sorry. A hotel should prioritize guest experience, especially accessibility, and having both elevators down with no support was unacceptable. This was our second time staying here. The outside has not been kept up. The weeds and grass are very noticeably not taken care of. Lobby is dirty and unkept. Large weeds are growing in the front gardens. Windows are filthy with handprints everywhere. Only one working elevator that has not been fixed since last visit. Lots of roof damage by the elevators and fixed with blue painters tape. No working pool that has been left in disrepair. The breakfast buffet is laughable. Surprisingly, room is spacious and clean and beds are comfortable. Front nigh staff very friendly and personable.

Nice and easy stay. They have been down to one very slow elevator for a long time. We've stayed there three times, and the elevator is still broken. They have been doing construction and working on the place, and it looks great. However, the one elevator that works is very slow, and the other one has been down for years.

Remodeling so why even say it’s open? Pool is closed, breakfast is cold cereal, construction drywall dust in elevators, temporary room numbers written on paper and taped at each room, Floors 2-4 completely closed off due to construction of 6 total floors, multiple potholes in the parking lot that are one foot deep, overgrown landscaping that scratches your vehicle when you try to park…don’t say your open for business when you’re not!

So the floor was dirty. Had to clean up a liquid spot I had spilled and as I cleaned it up, I looked at the paper towels and it was completely black. This isn't the first time either. Last year we stayed at this hotel and the same thing happened there. Then we inquired about a new refrigerator thinking that it had quit working, and the hotel staff hung up on us. Then our keys kept losing their ability to work. And one of the nights, there were a bunch of kids on our floor where they would be extremely loud in our hallway and then go outside and be loud. Not cool.

The front desk staff was helpful. One appliance in the room didn't work. Live roach on wall in room. The only electrical outlet at the sink/mirror area did not function. The woman attending the breakfast area verbalized her frustrations for all to hear.

The property was located close to highways and food/shopping. Checking in was easy. The cleanliness of the hotel was poor compared to every other Hyatt we’ve stayed from Chicago to Texas: sticky elevator floors, dirty bath rag in the tub upon arrival, pool gate falling down, etc. Staff were super friendly.

The room was full of dog hair - all the same color - on the floor in and on the covers. The fact that there was dog hair under the covers shows the room was not properly cleaned. The hallways and elevator were not clean as well showing a lack of attention to detail and standards within the staff. The cleaning and lobby staff could often be seen on their phones. The renovation efforts were not an issue nor was the mess due to the renovation, however, there is certainly a lack of quality control in the recently renovated areas. For a new room and hallway there was chipped paint, loose fixtures and generally sloppy work. Most guests can work around construction but will not overlook a indisciplined staff. Tighten these issues up and this will be on par with most other Hyatt places that I’ve stayed in. This experience was very disappointing because I’ve come to expect a high level of cleanliness, professionalism and attention to detail which the Topeka location missed the mark on.

We choose this hotel due to the size of the room and that did not disappoint. We had lots of room to stretch out and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was pretty good for a hotel breakfast. There was only one elevator so at busy times it good be a little wait but overall a great place to stay!

Great room! Lots of space, great for family with teen who wants their own space without needing to get two rooms. Fantastic kitchenette with sink along with microwave and mini frig. Frig had clear door so you won’t forget anything…brilliant! Great stay. Hyatt place is our new fave.

I only spend about 20 days a year in hotels. This is my favorite room of the last 10 years. We try not to drive more than five hours a day. That gives us quite a few hours to spend in a hotel room. This is the first room in years that has provided a couch that I could sit on. Usually the quality is so bad, I sink in them. The room we had was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Didn’t get up in time for breakfast.

The room had been recently renovated. The bed was comfortable and the sofa in the room was newer. The TV remote wouldn’t work, therefore we couldn’t watch tv. The shower took awhile for the warm water to flow in and water pressure was weak. The elevator was “bumpy”.. we didn’t have the breakfast but they did offer a free one.

The front desk Agent Jade was awesome. And the General Manager Maria as well as the cook Sherita. Even though the property was being renovated they made us feel comfortable. I loved the room very spacious and had all the amenities needed. My family and I enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay again when visiting Topeka.

Our overall stay was average. We stayed for one night, but the hotel was short-staffed. There was only one person handling check-ins, cleaning rooms, and managing the bar. It was quite hectic. I felt bad for him. We couldn't get a drink that evening because the staff member was busy cleaning a guest’s room. I've never seen that happen in a hotel before, but the room was clean and comfortable.

We thought we had accidentally left my husband’s medication. Called back the next day and Dominic was so wonderful. He went above and beyond. Went back to the room and searched it himself as well as going through lost and found. Can’t say enough about how incredible he was!

Showed up at 10pm to check in and I was told there wasn’t a room clean, so the front desk guy was going to clean one. An hour later, a second employee showed up and couldn’t figure out when our room would be ready. There were probably 6 other checkins waiting. We left and went to another hotel. First employee was working hard but the second guy (Travis maybe?) had an attitude and wasn’t super helpful. This hotel needs a new manager and some staff changes.

The young lady at the front desk "Posey?" was amazing. provided good food recommendations. Made me feel at home and even checked on me when I returned. just a tremendous attitude. she made the entire trip worth it.

Conveniently located to many attractions in the Topeka area so the easy access was a real plus! Benefit was that it was just slightly north of the I-70 interchange so in a quieter area than the hotels south of the interchange. Friendly staff at front desk. Breakfast generally included eggs, meat, oatmeal etc. (wish there had been make your own waffles too only because I really like freshly made waffles). Room had been recently renovated (the bathroom was a bit small though). Shower spacious. Mattress very comfortable. Would recommend this place.

My stay at the Hyatt was pleasant. The check in was painless and my room was spotless. Parking is ample and the location is safe and quiet. I would definitely recommend the Hyatt to anyone looking for a good nights rest. The breakfast was delicious and there is plenty of variety.

Our stay was great. The beds were comfortable. The free breakfast was not very good. Many items were not there or empty. We went down to eat at 9:20am, so this should not have been the case. The staff in charge of the breakfast area, was grumpy for doing her job, and was rather rude to guests. Overall, we loved the location, our room, the price, but the breakfast was lacking.

This was a nice place to stay but there were some things I wouldn't have expected like a remote out of batteries and only one elevator worked. The food options at the bar in the hotel were not what we saw advertised so we had to go out to find food.

The updates on the hotel are nice, and our room was comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing, silver dollar sized thinly sliced fried ham, French toast sticks, scrambled eggs were the hot items, which were warm-ish.

Our room was very clean and bed extremely comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was severely lacking compared to almost all other hotels we have stayed in. Another oddity in regards to the "breakfast" area was that they also pulled the coffee pots out the area after breakfast hours were over, so we were not able to get coffees to go. There again, we have never encountered a hotel that did not leave complimentary coffee out for travelers that were either leaving or would be arrivals

The QR code in our room advertised a restaurant/menu, but scanning it did not actually provide a menu, which was confusing.
