The bargain price brought me in. It was clean, bed comforter. Staff efficient. But no housekeeping unless you booked 3 nights. If she needed anything, you had to go to front desk. The bar and grill was supposed to be open 5 to 9, but it was closed because it had no business. The convention center is an homage to past glory days - now less profitable and looking tired (scarred doors, chipped painted frames, vast empty cavern) under capacity occupancy. North tower elevators were down for construction so you had to hike a tortured path to find freight elevator ans all the other guests had to. The parking lot is well lit but being downtown I sort of worried about our car’s safety outside. Nice breakfast. Under construction roadway upgrades in infrastructure to get there - tortured for driving. It made me feel how I feel when I go to the mall, for the demise of that large scale, business model, and the inability to keep appearances maintained to the level and splendor was built to.

Very outdated property. Hot tub is broken, fitness center has 1 machine missing components. Honestly not enough to call a fitness center. Tv was broken upon arrival in our room. 1 of the 2 elevators is broken and the other one seems to be struggling as it stops not properly aligned with the floor.

Our ac filter was clogged and made room kind of musty but room was clean, beds were comfy, pool and hot tub were clean and nice. Elevator was out and we were on 8th floor so had to use service elevator and wait was a little long with being down to one elevator but was overall really pretty and nice. Would stay again for sure!

My stay would have been a 5star except the elevators were an issue. First only one of 2 elevators was operating by day 3 neither was working. I am slightly immobile requiring a Walker to get me from one point to another Due to elevator issues I was directed to the Freight elevator as my only means to room on 5th floor or take stairs. The 2 of the elevators didn't work only had one little freight elevator to serve 12 floors, it was a 30 minutes wait to go up or down.

Neither the bar or the restaurant were in operation during our stay. There was a good amount of grassy area for dog walking. Staff was friendly and breakfast buffet was good. AC was good and our room was comfortable when it was 107 outside.

Room was in need of updates. Among the issues, there was duct tape on the windows (not sure why), the beds were very squeaky, and there was rust in the bathtub. We were nervous every time we used the elevators, as they were old and little light that shows you what floor you are on didn't work. (One of the three elevators was actually out of service for "modifications.") The walls are very thin and our neighbors were awake most of the night laughing, which kept us awake. The only positive I can say is the breakfast. While it was nothing special, the staff working it were very polite and friendly.

The building is honestly weird, but i like that. The room was really outdated, but it was very clean. The price was good, the staff were very nice. The elevator is super slow and tiny, but it worked. The other one was out of service and the stairs are terrifying (yikes). The little pool was clean and relaxing. The original building is quirky and cool. They should play it up. The tower is odd, and could use a facelift. Breakfast was basic but lovely and i really like the fountain and old facade. Its an older building and upkeep is tough. Overall i really had a good stay. A little money thrown into it could bring this property back to its glory days and market it to play up its weird Casa Bonita kind of quirk - this place could be a vintage jewel.

Great view from room, but one large window was damaged and occluded, so atmosphere was completely ruined. WiFi service was so slow that it was completely unusable. Sauna was out of order (one employee said that he would never trust it.) Tator Tots served at breakfast tasted like they were a week old. Both elevators were sketchy at best -- one did not align with the floor when it opened, and one the lights did not light up so you didn't know if it was working. The property seemed like it was fantastic "back in the day". Such a waste that it's in such disrepair.

The hallways and room are just old looking and run down. My mattress caved in slightly and you could hear the springs. It needed to be replaced a decade ago it sounded like. It was just grungier and older than I felt it should be for a convention center and the price it cost.

Had a terrible check in experience, 1 of our rooms was given to another guest who happened to have same last name . We were treated like it was our fault , and only after checking cctv was the mistake uncovered . Front desk person quite rude and no apology’s offered .

I called the morning off just to double check before I got on the road to come into Topeka and was “ensured” I’d be ok. Arrived only to be told there was no early checkin for me. My room was ready but it wasn’t “inspected/ green light” yet. I waited 3 hours and still wasn’t able to check in. How long does it take to “inspect” a ready room. I won’t be staying here again.

Huge hotel. Dated, but had a free breakfast and the place was quiet. We chose it because we could walk to the state capitol for a tour, which was one of the best we've done. Staff were very friendly.

Always clean & quiet. I even extended my stay another night. Close to hospitals, the Capitol, downtown, NOTO area & restaurants (though, it’s better to drive to those locations than to walk as it IS downtown).

The bargain price brought me in. It was clean, bed comforter. Staff efficient. But no housekeeping unless you booked 3 nights. If she needed anything, you had to go to front desk. The bar and grill was supposed to be open 5 to 9, but it was closed because it had no business. The convention center is an homage to past glory days - now less profitable and looking tired (scarred doors, chipped painted frames, vast empty cavern) under capacity occupancy. North tower elevators were down for construction so you had to hike a tortured path to find freight elevator ans all the other guests had to. The parking lot is well lit but being downtown I sort of worried about our car’s safety outside. Nice breakfast. Under construction roadway upgrades in infrastructure to get there - tortured for driving. It made me feel how I feel when I go to the mall, for the demise of that large scale, business model, and the inability to keep appearances maintained to the level and splendor was built to.

The staff are amazing. Clean and safe property. Didn't use the small indoor pool. Hot breakfast was powdered eggs and cold dry potatoes. Luckily there were other options. Overall, nice hotel for the price. Would stay here again.

The bed and pillows were comfortable. The floor was not vacuumed, shower shelves were dirty & some towels had someone else's hair on them! The breakfast coffee was horrible. The breakfast was tasteless.

The hotel is dated and a little run-down, and could use fresh paint, deep cleaning and updates. Staff was friendly, check-in was easy and the breakfast was typical hotel food. It was ok for a 1 night stay, just passing through. One of the hardest mattresses we've had in a hotel. Good easy parking. was ok for the low price

Staff was unhelpful in resolving the simplest of issues. My remote control did not work. Maintenance was called twice. No one ever came. Went to desk. Agent gave me new, unprogrammed remote. Told if I couldn't figure it out maintenance would come. Unsuccessful programming. No maintenance ever provided.

Cockroach in my bathtub when I flipped on the light. Elevators don’t work from the garage floor so you have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the only other elevator. The other elevator goes down to the garage floor but you can’t access it unless you have a keypad code.. very dated.. it also looks to be apartments with suspicious activity. The staff assured me that they had security outside but the car stayed parked and running in the far back corner of the hotel lot… probably sleeping while I walked my dogs at 5 am every morning.. I loved the history of the hotel but super disappointed with how dated the tower is..
