SpringHill Suites Boston Peabody

My fiancé and I booked this hotel solely based on the fact that it listed that it had a hot tub. It was the only hotel in the area that listed this as an available facility. We wanted nothing more than to relax in a hot tub after the long week we had. Upon arrival we noticed the the exterior of the building was extremely dirty and rundown looking. The parking lot and surrounding area just looked trashy. We park and walk up to the entrance and immediately notice 3 people doing carpentry work right in the direct entryway. We walk into the lobby and I was setback. The entire lobby was gutted. Floors covered in plastic protective paint sheets, Dust everywhere from sheet rock work going on, Random bottles of soda, tools and workers everywhere. As my fiancé is giving his information I notice on the desk that there is a sign saying that the pool and hot tub are “out of service” I was irate. Expedia as a business that represents this hotel and promotes it should be aware of these things to relay them to their potential customers. We NEVER would’ve stayed here had we known of these issues, and would’ve contacted customer support had we had more time on our hands to “waste” on the phone with someone to change our reservation. The entire hotel was filthy. The elevator had wet spots all on the floor and reaked of urine. The water in the sink in our room would not get hot. The breakfast offered was the smallest I’ve ever seen offered at a hotel. Very bad experience!!

Pool and hot tub closed. Toilet ran all night. Unaware I would be charged for parking. It was a parking lot where no others parked!

Pool was closed for maintenance and that was the main reason we booked this hotel. The staff was friendly and the continental breakfast did include hot food options which was unexpected. The facility is a bit run down and could use some updates.

The Hotel was under construction, which I received an email about the day of our stay, too late to cancel without a fee. They did do a very good job of keeping things clean in the main areas while construction was going on. We were made aware that the water would be turned off from 10 AM to 5 PM. So when we went to take our showers at 11 PM, there was no hot water. The hot water was turned on, but the showerhead was clogged up, probably with residue from the pipes being turned off. The manager, Michael, sent someone up to fix it. It was repaired while we were at breakfast. Unfortunately, my friend was already in the shower and soaked up when the water had stopped working from the showerhead. He said that he would put some points back in our account. I did not ask for a financial credit. That has been about three weeks ago and I have still not seen any points added back to our Marriott account. Although he was very nice, and seemed to be accommodating… It appears as though he may not have followed through with his commitment on the credit. It was definitely an inconvenience at the time, but not his fault.

While the front desk staff was friendly, the hotel was noticeably, dirty and extremely noisy. I was only able to get three hours of sleep the first night because of the loud party going on downstairs and then kids running around in the halls yelling in the middle of the night. I intended to swim in the hotel pool, but it was closed “for maintenance” even though nobody was working there the entire time we stayed. The free breakfast was nice in the location was good for going to Salem, but our hotel stay was borderline miserable.

Clean room and common area, polite and helpful staff, hot food and various items available for breakfast, nice selection of snacks in the convenience area, however the surrounding area was questionable. As clean as the lobby and rooms were, the outside was clearly neglected and trash cans were overflowing. There was also a parking fee that was not clearly mentioned upon check in. Side note and possibly not worth mentioning, but the pool was closed during my stay, not that I had the time to use it.

The hotel overbooked a very large rowdy convention that filled the ENTIRE parking lot leaving no parking for hotel guests. Many guests left with no place to park while the convention spilled into the parking lot leaving alcohol and garbage everywhere. Multiple complaints by angry guests that there was no parking available. Due to location on a highway without side roads some guests had to park a quarter mile away and others parked illegally. Next morning the parking area was empty but full of trash. Never staying there again.

Staff was great but lobby was dirty and furniture is old and stained and full of holes. They ran out of breakfast quick and the food was mid. The pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance the whole time which sucked and they were doing construction on the main entrance so we were woken up every morning by the sounds of heavy equipment. The rooms were clean-ish but caprlets looked nasty and cocking around bathtub looks ild and decaying. The best thing was the staff for sure.

Upon checking in I was informed that neither the Pool or the Whirlpool would be open for use due to construction. Being that this location was selected based on having both, I was very disappointed. Next was waking up in the morning to NO HOT WATER. I was informed that the boiler broke overnight, and it should be fixed "soon". After a long day of travel the prior day and a long day planned for that day, a hot shower was exactly what I needed and had thought would be included with my two night stay. The final straw was receiving a bill for parking which at no time was I notified that I would be charged to park my vehicle in an open lot. I will be following up with corporate and do not plan to ever book at this location again.

Paring at hotel awful. Big party in conference room left no parking for hotel guest. Told to go up street and part at another hotel.

Honestly, I will not return to this place ever. Very dirty. The whole hotel needs to be renovated, it’s falling apart. Once we went to our room, my family and I quickly realized it wasn't dusted, vacuumed, or wiped. My daughter has dust allergy and within minutes, her allergy started acting out. Then the TV remote wasn't working, then the hair on the bathroom floor. I complained to the front desk the lady sent a man and he was very nice. He vacuumed and cleaned. Fixed the TV remote as well. The breakfast was awful, although I felt really bad for the lady who worked during the breakfast. She was alone and was limping. I was surprised she had to do everything alone. Normally I always see 2 or more people fixing and organizing breakfast. And the cherry on top was the MOUSE i saw at the seating area for breakfast. I was super disgusted. I did let the man know at the front desk but he looked like he wasn't surprised or alarmed. I am assuming they are used to it and know about it. Stay away from this hotel and save your bucks for a better hotel. This place needs to change its management and get a reno.

Sticky floor in front of desk, multiple sports on sofa, spots on bathroom floor and in tub, and opened the drawer by the bed and it smelled of vomit. Also once again at Marriott the pool is out of service. Taking Marriott off of my places to stay

I had to wait at the front desk to check in while two employees were chatting about non work related things. I travel a lot and this is the first non city hotel that charges for parking. The room was ok but did look like it had been vacuumed in a while. There were crumbs throughout and a rather disgusting looking stain on the sofa. I won’t be staying here again.

Worn down, dirty sheets

The room was dirty, the carpet had stains all over, the curtains had glitter globes glue stuck on them, there were crumbs on the couch, the bathroom had a big stain in the shower. There was no hot water day one, the pool was closed for maintenance, and the continental breakfast was terrible.

In the room the coffee maker was broken, pillow case was dirty and the sofa had stuff smudged in it. Only 2 towels for 5 guests! 1 trash barrel for a suite and no trash bags. Pool area constantly ran out of pool towels and the staff all followed different rules causing confusion and a staff member yelling at children instead of addressing the parents. During breakfast we were cold because the front door constantly opening. Then we saw a mouse run by our feet. Some of the food was cold as well. On the site it advertised a bar/lounge and restaurant. None of this was true- false advertising. We won't be coming back.

Beds were uncomfortable. Carpet was old, unclean and smelled very bad. The bathroom tiles were old and gave the feeling of an unclean bathroom.

The check-in took 20 minutes because the front desk was busy with other people's rooms who had already left. The sheets had some sort of bodily fluids on them.

We had stayed here a couple of years ago, and I must say the level of cleanliness and service has unfortunately gone down. My son and I checked in on Tue 07/08 in afternoon. The room looked normal, nothing out of ordinary. On Wednesday morning I noticed two long hairs in bathroom floor. Most certainly not mine (47 years old balding man, and my son's hair is not that long). Thinking it was going to be cleaned out during the day, we didn't voice any concerns. When we got back to room later in evening, room had not been done, it was evident nobody had come in. The following morning, Thursday, I asked if there was a reason why the room had not been turned over, and was told they clean the rooms every other day due to having only one cleaning person for entire hotel. So I asked around what time that would happen that day and was told they didn't know. We left for the day and got back in the evening. Upon entering the room, we noticed only one of the two beds had been done, and that one didn't have a sheet over the mattress cover. The other bed had been left as it was when we left room. The two long hairs in bathroom were still there, therefore I deduct no cleaning had taken place. I called downstairs and asked for bed sheets so I could remake one bed and do the other one. I'm am not above making a bed, but I don't feel that is should do that at 9:30 at night, and clean floors. When we checked out, no questions about if we had any issues or if stay was ok. We just won't be back.

When we entered the room, there was toothpaste splatter on the mirror from previous guest. The shower was dirty. There was hair in the bed not just a strand it was several strands of hair in the bed. Stains on the sheets did not seem clean. the breakfast was terrible. The scrambled eggs didn’t taste like real eggs. The sausage was slimy and warm undercooked the lemonade tasted like water. My daughter grabbed a chocolate milk and it was expired. I didn’t like that they charge $50 on my credit card before we even needed to my son came down and grabbed some water from the convenience Store. She asked for the room number and that’s all. So now anyone could go down take some things from the convenience store and give any room number than they wanted to, and they would never chec. the staff behind a desk were very polite and friendly.

Great location close to Boston. Free parking at back of hotel Places to eat nearby. Large room with good airconditioning. Lovely free breakfast.

The room was just oddly set up. I could touch the air conditioner from the bed. So while the air conditioner was on I froze but I would sweat when it was off.

Unfortunately the AC was not working, we called reception they changed rooms for us but the new room the AC worked but was sooo noisy that we couldn’t sleep, we left in the middle of the night because of this inconvenience.

Rooms were comfortable, bathrooms were a little outdated but functioned properly

Had a short stay on our trip but very comfortable, friendly staff and quiet area.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, although the setup for the television was in an awkward spot. The bathroom was the worst part of the stay. The faucet in the bathtub dripped and the drain was discolored from the constant water drip. The drain was clogged and when taking a shower, you were standing in about 8” of water. The room did have any hand soap, I had to find housekeeping and ask for one, which at first they said they were out, but we eventually got a bar so that we could our hands instead of using the body wash in the bathtub.

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and contain all necessities.

We stayed here for one night when visiting Salem in October so the price was very expensive to stay. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were pretty good, the one down fall with the room was the washroom - it needed some updating and serious tlc. The bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was decent. The pool was closed which we were slightly disappointed in but I would recommend staying here, as it was a good experience overall.

Liked just about everything. Soft beds, clean rooms, attentive staff. But the bathrooms need to be redone and the shower head doesn't have enough pressure.

Staff was very uncaring. A 70 year old member of our party slipped on a wet floor injuring her knee, other guests helped us lift her to a chair. She was in severe pain and the front desk worker came over and put up a sign stating “slippery when wet”, at the beginning of the hallway not at the door where we had just entered through, handed me two Bare aspen and walked away. Not once did she check one our injured party. When I reported the incident in the morning to a manager, she just said, I’m sorry. She said she would have a mat put down in front of the door right away. When we left two hours later there was still no mat at the door. Still no one checking if our member was ok.

Staff at check-in was considerate, helpful and efficient. Room is large, comfortable and very clean.

The hotel manager, Hector, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Excellent service

What a friendly and welcoming group of front desk individuals that made up the TEAM at Springhill Suites in Peabody. Phyllis greeted us (instantly recalling that I had reached out days previous by phone to plan a surprise for my new husband, and she never let on the secret!) Mary greeted us in the morning as we made our way to our complimentary breakfast of freshly made waffles, homefries, eggs, and all the things that make a VACATION BREAKFAST perfect. Mary had gotten information from Phyllis before her, that we were celebrating our wedding and she congratulated us with enthusiasm and joy, with a twinkle in her eyes and a smile that lit up the whole lobby!! The overnight team member, Tom, brought us some luck when I asked him for his lucky number and we were all tickled to win on the roulette wheel with his number when my new hubby and I took the short ride down the road to the casino at Encore. The facility is clean and it SMELLS GOOD everywhere, I don't know how they manage that! Our room was comfortable and modern and we slept like babies. We're already looking forward to our next stay!!

Off of a very busy road and there is no sign for the hotel. Felt like we would get hit trying to get in the driveway.

We booked this hotel to visit Salem as it was only 15 minutes away, but much lower price than hotels in Salem. We had some issues finding it, but maybe that's our fault, as we ended up on the other side of the highway. The room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast buffet was excellent with many choices. The drive to Salem wasn't bad, but obviously not as convenient as staying in Salem but definitely an option.

The room was very clean we stayed here because we wnt to Salem for a day. This hotel is only 15 min drive from Salem.

My family enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel sits in a convenient area just north of Boston. It's easy to get back and forth to the city from this hotel. The breakfast was always good. I just would have liked them to have more fruit options.

Hotel was clean, good breakfast and staff was friendly but if you are looking to also have walkable stuff to do in the area this hotel location is not it, the hotel is in front of a highway, not much to do around and not a walkable area.

It was great for what we needed. Breakfast was amazing too! It’s easy to miss the turn into the lot so be careful with that. The pool and gym are pretty small too so didn’t get much use out of that. But the room was perfect!

Not a great location but ideal for one night before heading into Salem!

We always like to stay in Springhill suites when we travel. We know what we are getting. This one didn’t reach the Marriott level. The bathtub bottom full of rust marks that our daughter didn’t even want to go into to take a shower. The most discounted thing is the breakfast. No hot item, with all kinds of toppings but no oatmeal or eggs to top with. Limited English muffins. We were early to go downstairs but the muffins were gone no refill. It make us to rethink to stay with Marriott brand.

Great free breakfast. So delicious, fat above what we dreamed they would have! Fresh Maine blueberry sauce for the waffles! Fluffy scrambled eggs. Just amazing. Can't believe it was complimentary! Staff was great, very fast and accommodating. Great location to sights we wanted to visit.

Good place to stay on a roadtrip. Quality/price was good. Breakfast was however dispointing. Not much to eat. They were running out on a lot of options

Hotel overall is nice just a bad location to get around. We were suppose to get cleaning service every other day but had to go to the front desk to get clean towels. We emptied out our own trash since the room didn’t get cleaned. Breakfast has horrible. Food wasn’t done. Out of everything (no sugar, pop, juices, etc). Also had to pay for parking???

Everything was excellent. Great room, nice location. They had a great, complimentary breakfast in the morning. Eggs, oatmeal, waffles, juices, coffee, etc. One of the nicest hotel stays I've had. I highly recommend.
