Red Roof Inn PLUS Washington DC - Oxon Hill

Duvet was not cleaned well if at all. No refrigerator. Ice machine on third floor not working or clean. Night Stand not plugged in. This reduced options to plug electronics up and charge them.

I paid for premium room. It was NOT premium. None of the amenities of a premium room. On top of that the room was full of stink bugs. The clerk argue with me. Then she put us in a room that had no remote for the TV or a ice bucket for ice. The ice machine did not work. I am a regular there and this was the worst experience I ever had there. When I went the next morning and the manager was there she was very unfriendly and knew what happened to me. Not even apology. Will not be returning. I want a refund. No rooms were premium for what I paid for.

My recommendation, if you decide to stay here would be to ask for a room wuth a microwave and refrigerator. I had both, but the ice machine worked the first couple of hours I got there. However the ice machine was not functioning for the next 3 days that I stayed. The sheets and towells were clean and the room and bathroom was clean.

Anywhere with a cop car parked in front of it at night is sketchy but inside the room was great!

Clean enough. But police on premises both nights, fights, people screaming and banging on doors. Felt very unsafe. Police radios heard both nights.

Lots of parking available. Very clean rooms. No bugs! Surrounded by a lot of food options. Water needs to be hotter. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and will be back! 🙂

It was easy check in and pg police on property for security.

Staff was not very friendly or helpful at the front desk. The room was clean . We were not bothered by noisy neighbors ( it was insulated against the noise). The beds were comfortable. Price was good. Parking good. The entrance needs a larger sign- we drove past the entrance twice.

This location also have security patrolling the area.

Everything was pretty decent. I really liked the fact that they had a good rating online I got a good deal on the room for under $100. You can’t complain for the night. The only things I would say are the rooms are a little dingy and bumped up. They could use a little TLC. The TV is very old. The hand soap was out by the sink. The bathroom was pretty decent. It could’ve been a little bit better. There was also a bunch of random hairs in the shower on the wall like seven different kinds of hair so it wasn’t just one person. I also noticed that the hand soap was loose on the wall and the door had a light gap coming in. I could see the outside. The air conditioner was really loud and made this tinging noise all night. I also got back to the hotel around 11 o’clock maybe a little earlier and there was no lights on at all and we couldn’t see we had to use our flashlight on our phone to get to the room not a huge deal but could be a safety concern in an area that you’re not familiar with the room itself was pretty clean could’ve been swept up a little bit better in the corners, but the sheets were glean and the bed was comfortable. I didn’t notice that there was a refrigerator or a microwave in any of the rooms so we did not have one either. We did have a small coffee pot and a luggage stand. Also, you have to adjust the air conditioning from the air conditioner located low on the floor, which could be confusing or hard to figure out for some people. The owner cares about it.

The bathroom floors looks as if they were never washed. My floors had long black hair all over the floor. The sheets were not changed from from the previous stay. The staff only spreader the comforter back across the bed. The stores across and down the street from the hotel was a huge plus.

The front desk personnel was nice and pleasant. The room was adequate but the floors were dirty. I was walking barefoot my feet got black immediately. The bathroom was OK but didn't shine with cleanliness. The toilet was so low to the ground I thought it was meant for toddlers.

I was comfortable until a roach crawled out on the bureau drawers where I was putting my belongings. The room appeared clean and I killed the insect and it was dtill on yhe desk so housekeeping should most definitely see it. I didn't tell the front desk as I didn't want to startle the quest esnying in the lobby. I have booked there several times, but never a pest problem. I was a bit disturbed by this encounter and didn't sleep well. Hopefully I get some kind of deduction. I still have faith in Red Roof to do a good job in spraying to rid of pest.

Rather poor experience. There was no shower curtain. The comforter had stains.

Was roaches in bathroom

Disgusting. We were met in the bathroom by a roach. The room smelled like cigarettes and dirty carpet there were cigarette burns on the toilet. We were given the option to go to anothet roach room without any refund or wait 3 days for an inspection or leave. We chose to leave and had to book another hotel in the middle of the night, i would not recommend this to anyone.

Dead moth on the bed, guess it was his room. And no hot water for a shower.

The water wasn’t hot at all

I love the abundance of hot water at any given hour and the proper air conditioning for the current outside temperatures.

The Heat was not working inside the room. There was a strong weed smell inside the room and outside area.

Rooms need to be updated. However, it was clean enough for a 1 night stay. Close to everything. MGM, Shopping outlets, and food.

Mostly everything was good. Definitely improvement are needed, like new mattresses.

Even the tv doesn’t work

Given the price point, my expectations werent high. The room had a weird smell to it, the remote to the tv was broken, bed was very uncomfortable. Said it had free wifi, however, no mention was made of it at check-in and on the holder for the keycard, it had a spot for wifi password, but was left blank. Once in the room, i checked for wifi networks and the 'redroof' option looked a bit shady.

Everything went pretty good with my stay this past weekend. The Wi-Fi connection was great along with the Cable TV service. The toilet leaked from the head tank into the bowl. At times it was a bit noisy but I didn't report it. The room condition was great other than that

I spent only one night. The lady who helped me with check in was ok but the lady on the next morning for check out had the WORST attitude. I kindly requested a late check out (regular check out is at 11am and my flight was at 4pm). With a really BAD attitude she told me NO! After I insisted she allowed me to check out at 11:30, however I would get charged for “late” check out. I came back to the hotel at 11:03am. Could not access my room bc the key had been already deactivated. After waiting in line to get the jet re-activated to go in the room pick up my things and check out, it was 11:17am and still I got charged $25 for “late” check out for ONLY 17 minutes… as for the room, it was FILTHY. There was a chewing gum (still not hard) on the night stand and a huge fly on the bathroom. The room smelled really bad

It was clean staff as usual were very nice and knowledgeable.

I dislike being charged an undisclosed deposit. I really dislike staff deciding to keep some of that deposit. I will never stay at a Red Roof again.

This is a Red Roof Plus; but it feels not too different than any other recently renovated Red Rood Inn in the area. This location feels safe, no loud noises coming from other guests or parking lot noises going on all night. Comparing it to the location in Lanham; it’s a bit cleaner and not as “busy” at night in the parking lots. Compared to the Laurel location, it’s more expensive, and the beds aren’t as comfortable as that location ; however it’s a lot quieter I’ve found. Positives: the staff are friendly and accommodating. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Recently the night staff kept my reservation as long as she could even when I had a flight cancellation and couldn’t arrive until 4am.

There was no staff at the check in desk at 6 pm on a Wednesday. Others were already waiting. No answer when I called the hotel. Staff returned around 6:30 pm. Protective glass all around the lobby. Be vigilant.

I forgot the front desk rep but i appreciate him he updated my room it was 2a just touch down the room i was assigned to looked as if the guest just left room was horrible but he made it happen

I tried calling the property 5–6 times, but no one answered, which was disappointing. The service overall was not satisfactory. The bedding was uncomfortable, and there was a lot of noise coming from the fridge. We requested a ground floor room due to difficulty going upstairs, but our request was not accommodated. Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here.

Location charged my card and processed my security deposit as a transaction after the total was paid in full through hotels.com site. Only transaction on it was supposed to be an authorization hold /security deposit for incidentals, I had zero incidentals, but was still charged, and my deposit was never returned to my payment method.

Very kind people and fast food places are always a walking distance.

The room itself was well appointed and clean,the bed was actually comfortable. But the environment at night was definitely not family friendly, people hanging outside in front of their rooms being loud and obnoxious and smoking weed.

I liked how it was close to important amenities such as restaurants, laundromat, theater, parks, banks, and the freeway.

Convenient for commuting to DC

The location was good due to it being 15 minutes from Washington. The national harbor 10 minutes. The property is surrounded by vacant buildings.i was a little concerned the first night...thinking i made a mistake booking here...turned out to be ok..had to change my room..upon arrival they didn't have the king bed reserved ..Had to take double bed.The next dsy i went to office and requested change to room with king bed...no problem it was done

The room is non-smoking but it reeks the smell of smoke and alcohol. I reached out to Expedia to cancel reservation because the area is also unsafe, and they couldn't because they claimed due to policy with Red Roof, then why do you publish this awful place?

Upon returning from the stores back to my room, there was people gathered outside one of the room doors, it appeared to be a gathering. Women were arguing loudly and I was frightened a fight would break out in front of my kids. It was hard to sleep at night because the noise of music and shouting continued until 4ish/5 in the morning. I kept waking up throughout my sleep. I have truly learned what “you get what you pay for” really means now. To add to this, the check in lobby was trashed. Literally trash thrown on the floor and leftover burger king on a table that still sat there when I checked out. Smh Besides all the above, the male at check in on Thursday was respectful and helpful when I asked for a different room because my first room reeked of cigarettes.

It was a decent room for the price and what we needed. Do know that even if you pay online, you do need to put down $57 from a debit/or credit card, no cash before you can check in to your room. Only issues we ran into was we did not get the snack box that we ordered with the bedding upgrade and the shampoo/conditioner box in the shower was empty, other than that, it was decent.

I was only there for 2 nights, i was surprised at the large selection of the "room service" menu, unfortunately it stopped at 9pm so i didn't get a chance to try it, but a couple sit down restaurants and burger places all walkable and a Target and CVS for anything you forgot to pack. I stayed while visiting the capital so an Uber to the city was about $30, about 20 min. It was sub freezing temps and i noticed how drafty the bottom of the door was, not sure if that's every room, but it was kind of annoying. Otherwise its a really decent room for the money and friendly staff to go with it. I'd stay there again if i visit the area.
