Solomons Inn Resort & Marina

The bar tender seemed very distracted and twitchy. The fountain was green. The outdoor bar was in total renovation and not even open. It was weird.

We had a group of people come and everyone was nice. Pool side drinks and food from the restaurant was really great. Late night bar. Great place to stay.

We had a great experience at the hotel. The pool and the lifeguards were amazing, having early free breakfast was extremely helpful with a child, and generally, the hotel fuel was very good and local.

Not sure why the call it a Resort. Pool wasn't open as advertised. Breakfadt in packages and internet not reliable. Looks like they are remodling 1st floor but rooms, furniture and bathroom are worn and need upgrading.

I discovered the Solomon’s Island area from a Fox 5 DC travel segment and chose this hotel based on top area hotel searches. While the property is decent, it didn’t meet my expectations from the Expedia photos. The hotel is still undergoing renovations, with some areas looking dated and more like a motel than a resort. Room appliances are awkwardly placed, and TV entertainment is limited to streaming apps, which isn’t ideal for all guests. Several outlets and lights didn’t work, and charging devices was inconvenient. Overall, the hotel isn’t fully ready and seems to be renovating without clear progress checkpoints. This said, the hotel staff were great and very accomodating to request and inquiries. Also, the fitness ctr. had just enough to keep up with your workout routine, and the newly renovated restaurant and outside bar were very nice. We really enjoyed bartendars Julie and Avrey.

The listing and the actual hotel bear little resemblance. The "gym" shown in the photo doesn\'t exist, but a little room with a couple of pieces of equipment is substituted. I chose this property specifically because of the "guest laundry" amenity, but that doesn\'t actually exist. Felt like a bait and switch. I can\'t say how many other amenities exist or not, as I only stayed one night.

The hotel looks very nice and everyone working was friendly. The elevators both broke and at one point were both out of service during our stay. Our AC unit in the room was leaking and created a huge puddle, also our bathroom sink would not drain. The breakfast was very nice and had lots of options for us to grab on our way out in the morning. The location was convenient for a concert nearby. We did not use the pool, but it looked nice.

The property is undergoing changes. The room keys did not work and there needs to be an upgrade on the door locks so that people don't have to keep going to the front desk to say "My key does not work. I noticed that there were several guest whose keys did not work. The Personnel are very friendly and the cleaning crew that cleaned our room was very nice and did a good job. I loved the pool and the pyoxcemidy of the hotel to the little town. The hotel was gracious enough to discount my bill to make me whole again. I appreciated that because, the trip was for my sister's birthday and I wanted a wonderful experience for her.

Clean hotel with friendly staff.

Walked around the property and there is trash everywhere. People smoke out front and the cigarette smell lingers when you come in and out. Guests leaves used cigarettes near the entrance on the ground and nobody picks them up. There are broken bottles and trash in the parking lot. If you walk around the building towards the water there are empty water bottles, cans, jugs, containers along with other trash. You would think they want to keep the place clean and presentable. Also people were smoking weed in the building and I guess that’s allowed? There wasn’t really TV service in the room except Vizio Free tv and it was horrible. It was connected to WiFi and the signal in the room was bad and the TV kept buffering and wasn’t enjoyable to watch anything. It takes a while to have someone help in the restaurant. The wait staff also doesn’t really pay attention when you order or wait on your table when you are eating. Ordered a burger well done and it came medium…. Asked for a few other things and had to ask again. The wait staff never can back to check on us and just brought the bill. They asked how it was and we said it was ok and that was the end of the conversation. We will not eat there again. Food was not worth what we paid… disappointed. The doors between the rooms seem to be paper thin and you can hear everything the guests next door are doing. Have more to post but ran out of space for review.

Clean room

My stay was great! The staff was courteous and helpful, and the room was nice and clean.

The place is huge, has a great location, it’s quiet and the beds are comfortable. You can’t hear everything happening outside of your room. That is the positives to this place. It is not clean. Coffee was still splattered across the TV guide, most lights were flickering or did not work, fingerprints from previous guest all over the magnifying mirror. Not sure if they own a vacuum due to the filthy hallway and room carpet. All docks surrounding the hotel are private and you are not allowed to crab or fish off them (main reason for our trip).

This is a very unkept, dirty property. With no shower curtain, open outlet, stained carpet, moldy skylight. It was the worst property I have stayed in. I did some research and they are closing 10/31. So obviously the owners just don't care about it's customers.

Very clean and modern… room was facing the marina which was lovely… staff was very accommodating… pool area very pretty.. even have lifeguards… would definitely stay again!!

Renovated room: mold around shower, shower surround not clean, caulking around sink crumbling, toilet was slow to flush, couch had several stains, floor was dirty wiped with white towel and it was gray/black. Bed was good, tv good, pillows good, towels good.

The carpet in the room we were assigned was filthy, also the strong order of mildew in the room was horrendous. So my wife and I returned the room key 10 minutes after receiving them and checked out of this establishment. The front desk associate was outstanding, she was contrite, sympathetic and accommodating. But no, I will not be recommending this establishment. It is defiantly due for a major property update!

Very clean and quiet

We were excited to see that the hotel was reopened. The property claimed newly renovated, after being closed for a couple years. The only thing renovated was the lobby area and restaurant. The restaurant did not serve breakfast and we had to drive for breakfast. The wi-fi was VERY SLOW. the furniture was at east 20 years old. Even with a king sized room, there was no dresser. The clothes had to be put in the night stand drawers. And there were only three hangers. Very disappointing. Never again

Newly remodeled with a few kinks left to work out. Television was difficult to figure out.

The bed broke in the middle of the night

Walls are thin! We could clearly hear the folks in the next room talking. They weren’t being loud, just normal conversational speech. We also heard every cough and sneeze from the other neighbors.

The lobby looks great and a lot of breakfast options for free. However the rooms have been updated but not the hallways, elevators or carpet. They allow animals so there was a barking dog all hours of the night and the room smelled terrible. The cleaning person came in and took the trash and gave new towels but didn’t make the beds ? When asked was told they were already gone for the day. The second day a young man was cleaning the rooms and he was not wearing any type of uniform and appeared very very young. He had 3-4 carat of cleaning stuff and carts etc in the hall most of the day right near my room so I could hear his conversations and music.

Your tv streaming is horrible

Very nice room (suite) with a great view. Breakfast was simple, but sufficient. Very clean and comfortable property. Still renovating, but a nice stay. Easy access to attractions. Off season and very quiet. No live TV and couldn’t get FireTV to connect. May have been too far from WiFi.

Our first stay at this property and we were very pleased. It has been recently renovated so everything looked fresh! We had an issue with the passkey/card working properly which was quickly resolved. I did not reserve a waterfront room but requested one on check-in and it was happily provided. Gorgeous view of the marina on a full moon night. It was off season so I certainly wouldn’t expect this mid- season but it was a very nice upgrade. We have grandchildren in the area so we will be frequent guests. Good job staff!

The only bad thing about this stay was there was no cable television available. I called the front desk and they sent in the maintenance person to fix it, but he was unable to.

Could not get hot water in Shower

My staff was really with the exception of one staff member who seemed to just give EVERYONE a hard time. He was wrong with some of the procedures of the hotel and his body language and gestures were sort of unpleasant. He was kind of a larger guy with glasses , looked a little older than other staff members. Everyone else I encountered were wonderful to us and other guests.

The front desk staff that checked us in was beyond amazing. He takes pride in his job and boy does it show. His name was Isaiah I believe, we checked in 10/29/25 late at night.

What I liked most was the size of the room. Customer service was horrible. Not being greeted when you walked up to the counter. The employees put answering the phone over the customer in front of you, without an excuse me said.

The building was outdated and needs some touch ups however my room was amazing, always clean with fresh linens with a great view of the Marina, the bed was so so comfy! The staff especially the front desk morning girl and the evening guy ( sat-thur). So delightful, kind, and lovely. Thank you for a wonderful week!!

First- Calling reservations line to get assistance was a horrible experience with AI delay response conversations. The conversation was robotic, cold and aggravating. Second- Assistance with direct hotel management was not helpful. Held on for over 12 minutes to not be attended by management and no helpful solution.

I had such a wonderful experience at Solomons Island Resort & Marina. What really stood out was the management. I needed help with something and the manager went above and beyond to help. That level of care showed me how much they value their guests. The resort itself is beautiful, relaxing, and perfectly located by the water, but it’s the people who make it truly special. Thank you for taking such great care of me. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Property was overall very good. We enjoyed our stay!

The man at the desk was exceptionally nice, offered us an upgrade to our room and gave my son a toy. The room was clean, the bedding, comfortable, and there was some great options for breakfast. I would definitely go back!

The check in process was amazing! We've had the same guy check us in several times and he's always amazing! The room was great. The issues we encountered was first the room next to us had what sounded like a dj party going on. The music was so loud it made the wall rattle. Finally around 9 pm the music was off. Next issue was while getting ready to leave I went to grab a drink and snack from the continental breakfast that's included and there's a lady in a chair next to the counter on a very loud FaceTime call and she's not polite at all. Next thing I know I had a small takeout bag from my dinner the night before and I grabbed a bottle of juice, a waffle for me and a donut and apple for my husband and she starts yelling "NoNoNo! I was confused since I had no clue who she was or if she was yelling at the on going call she was on??? No it was at me to tell me I can't put the items I had in my bag. I said ok I can carry them! She was ridiculous! I could see if I had a bag and was trying to fill it up with these &2 items but it's not the case. I don't know why they would put a loud rude person in the position she is in but I will make sure to stay at the Hilton next time. I know I won't get treated poorly there. Sad part is my husband and I started to like this for our weekly 1 night escape from the kids. Do better and treat people like paying customers not like we are in a buffet line in a bad area!

Pros: there are walkable restaurants to eat. Boomerangs was Fantastic choice! And just 7 minutes walking from the hotel. Hotel and pool was clean. They allow dogs! Eventhough we didn’t have one it was nice to see as it made the hotel more lively. Personnel was friendly. Rooms, gym area, breakfast area seem clean and our (3rd) floor and entrance floor are all renovated. Pool was great and there is corn hole and wooden block games around the back of the pool (which no one told us about). We traveled with our 6 year old daughter so it would have been nice to know earlier. Plenty of free parking it almost seemed empty. Very close to the Maritime Museum which was informative and the otters were very entertaining! Cons: the basement where laundry services are is NOT renovated and smelled very humid and moldy. We did not use the laundry because of this. Breakfast is free but is only fridge items and coffee machines. There were microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, cereal, tea bags, almond milk, fridge waffle, packaged cooked eggs all in fridge. There is no waffle machine.

The inn is pretty and not far from the boardwalk area in Solomons Island. It was quiet and had few guests during the midweek. The continental breakfast was good and the staff is friendly and helpful. But a few issues were odd: they had to hunt up a remote for our TV and the phone in our room lit up and flashed until we unplugged it during the night. There were also some minor plumbing issues. They seem to be upgrading the place so we hope it will be lovely and ship-shape soon.

Good location

A bit difficult to find in my car’s navigation, perhaps it’s been renamed from Holiday Inn. Nice hotel in a nice resort area.

Super comfortable bed! Haven’t sleep that well in a hotel for a while! The service and friendliness from all staff was AMAZING! Everyone was so kind. Our kids loved the pool as well. Wish we had a longer stay.

Staff efficient and friendly, breakfast too ordinary - self service warm up of packaged muffins - felt industrial. Room nice - only complaints shower faucet hard to adjust and pillows too big and too hard. Great view.

The staff was great. The pool was lovely. They are in the midst of remodel so some things in the room are dated and thrown together while other things are brand new. the bed and furniture in the room was new and nice They need to get the restaurant open. The continental breakfast was not good at all.

The same for the resort overall, felt as if we were staying in the middle of a renovation. There is also no place to sit down in a comfy chair for a drink and conversation, no real lounge area. The breakfast does not cater to vegetarians or people with food allergies. The only options for milk were actually milk and almond milk which does not work for someone that is lactose intolerant and allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. You need either soy or oat milk.

Liked the view. Lack of a place to get food.

We liked the way the rooms wrapped around the pool area. The continental breakfast was serve yourself from a selection of items, including egg sandwiches. We also enjoyed dinner at Creekside on patio. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a comfortable stay at a value rate with recent renovation.

Check-in was easy. I stayed in a room with two double beds for trip with my mom and two young children. Room did not have a balcony like pictured on the website. Only provided towels for two people, even though room booked for four. No one at front desk mid-morning when we tried to get more - luckily found friendly and kind housekeeping on another floor to obtain more towels. Beds on softer side and dipped down slightly in middle. Beds and bathroom mostly clean, but had stuff smeared on back of bathroom door and on bedroom wall. Floor also dirty with crumbs in corner and mystery splatters between bed and side table. One of the outlets did not work, but plenty of others that did. Shower had great water pressure. Breakfast bar offered apples, oranges, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, milk, juices, frozen breakfast sandwiches, cake, plain glazed donut, nespresso machine for coffee, hot water, hot chocolate, assorted tea bags. Pool looked clean and inviting, but we did not use. Convenient location. My mother is disabled and the handicap parking spaces were full, but plenty of other parking in the open lot. Staff was kind. Outdoor areas clean. WiFi is slow. Elevators are large and efficient.
