Agreeable staff. AC broke, prompt repair yet still did not function property. Flickering lamp not repaired despite two requests. Pool area not air conditioned, was unusable due to heat (this was during heat wave). Despite all this, staff was cheerful and polite. Our stay was overall pleasant.

This is a very convenient place to stay in the Bloomfield-Birmingham area. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff is excellent. The rooms are comfortable. The bar is small but very cool. The deli is great for breakfast. There is an excellent restaurant next door. Delicious! We will stay again.

If your room is below ground level, don’t expect to open the curtains, as people in the pool will be looking right in. Also, do not purchase the ‘breakfast included’ option — they won’t honor it unless you escalate through Expedia, and their policy only covers 2 people even if you pay for 4.

The common areas are well-kept, clean and modern. Unfortunately, the same cannot be same for the actual rooms. Our hotel room had hair in the shower, the carpet was soiled and the pillowcases were stained. The experience was redeemed by the friendly staff and the adjacent restaurant, Zalman’s. We are unlikely to return.

I was highly disappointed in the room we stayed in, I've stayed in much nicer rooms at holiday inn. The bathroom was nice and clean, the room was clean as well but there were dark stains on our bedding, there were stains across the ceiling from a water leak, and the room was basic to say the least. Apparently the lock to the pool door was broken and we had no way of knowimg that, tried to use the pool before we left but wasnt able to access. Claims to be a smokefree property but the restaurant employees were right outside of the back entrance sunday morning smoking cigarettes, which made my asthma react as i had to walk through the cloud of smoke to my vehicle. Overall it was a decent stay and the area was very nice. I loved seeing all the expensive cars in the area but for the price I paid, I absolutely will not return again.

The hotel is considered luxury but it is not. My room smelled bad, carpet was very dirty and my bathroom was filthy. I had to buy cleaning supplies to clean it. It took the whole day to cool my room down on an 90 degree day on the highest floor. I wanted a luxury staycation on my birthday and it turned into wasted money on my birthday. I could've stayed home.

Urine in the corner of the “clean” room manager Sean refused to acknowledge until I made him smell it. Kicked us out after being embarrassed. The place was cool 10 years ago and now is a glorified motel.

The staff was very nice. Our tv did not work and a tech arrived right away. We thought it was fixed but continued to have issues. There was a wedding party on our floor and there was an altercation ai 1:00 am that lasted a long time- that made the stay less than great.

We loved this hotel! It was clean, convenient, and has a wonderful restaurant with great food and service. Literally our only complaint is that there are not smart TVs in the room. With everyone having access to logging into streaming services from their own devices, it would be nice to have smart TVs or at least a television that would allow for casting to it. Otherwise, really just a top notch location.

This hotel has really depreciated. Our room was old and worn and needs updating. There were people screaming in the hallways @ 3am and woke up my children (it took 30 min for anything to be done about it). Our room was next to the indoor pool and smelled terribly of chlorine. I won't be staying here again.

Maybe because I booked through Expedia, I don’t know, but THE smallest hotel room and smallest hotel room bathroom I have ever been in via 20 years of business travel. I can’t believe I was charged what I was charged to stay here. The road noise of the highway is also super off-putting! Won’t be back.

The gal that checked us in was confused, tried to charge us again for the room. Did not offer us any details of the hotel, where to park during the construction. Another guest saw our confusion and offered directions as to where to park. Only told us our room is on the third floor. Too much of the “scent” being distributed through out the hotel, EXTREMELY OVERPOWERING!! Nice hotel and great location for us.

So this is usually my go to hotel for a staycation but this time around I was disappointed the mirrors were dirty in my room, the TV had dust all over it along with fingerprints, I called the front desk to get someone up there to clean it. No one never came so I ended up cleaning it myself. Call downstairs to the front desk to get a wine glass. I was told to go get it myself. What’s the point of room service if I have to do it myself? I can say this wasn’t a good stay this time around. I think it’s time for me to find a new spot.

Had issues that were not resolved by manager. Ther3 were workers in early morning accessing roof right in front of my window while changing. Told front desk but they didn't warn me for 2nd time it happened. Had requested quiet room at end of hallway but was put by elevator.

This hotel has a very beautiful layout, from the lobby, lower lobby and bar/lounge. I’ve stayed multiple times over the years. The staff is very kind and this hotel is a great way to enjoy a staycation with Birmingham shops and restaurants nearby.

What a lovely property. The room was so nice, the bed was comfy, the shower was awesome. Dinner at Zahlman’s was outstanding. Try the shrimp and grits or the chicken and biscuits. We were too full for dessert. Oh and they gave us fresh cookies at check in. A

the property was very nice. it was older; however, it had a boutique vibe. The check in was smooth and the front desk attendants were very accommodating. Joe the bartender was fantastic. He makes a great Old Fashioned. The only downside was an inability to order food after hours.

We loved every minute of our stay at The Kingsley. The staff was excellent. We loved our room and the pool and both restaurants in the hotel. Joe Muirs was superb. We ate there twice. We used Zalman's restaurant for breakfast and dinner often. We enjoyed the food--especially the bakery items. Overall, we were very pleased with this property and the location and the staff. We will definitely come back!!!!
