Nice motel--clean, quiet, and comfortable with very friendly staff. Breakfast was typical hotel "free breakfast" food, but very fresh and it is obvious that an effort is being made to make it good. Only complaint is weak Wi-fi signal in the room, unless accessed early morning or late evening when not as busy. Wi-fi was fine in the lobby/eating area.

The terrace area and continental breakfast was a beautiful way to start the morning with a smile. Overlooking the water was relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and the closeness of the town and shops to visit. The hot tub was also a plus!

The room was clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The free breakfast was excellent, with both hot and cold choices available. Daily room freshening was disappointing. They did not even make up the beds. Towels were thin. The hot tub was broken the two days we were there.

Didn’t like the room, it was a small building across the driveway from the main hotel. The bathroom shower very small and a poor design. Had a giant jet tub in the room and it wasn’t in any of the pictures, had it been we would have booked a different room. Also the bedspread/comforter was dirty and had several rips in it. The other rooms at the hotel may be just fine. If we go back we will not get room 144.

Our room was filthy. The floor was filthy. Hard telling how long it had been since it had been mopped. The bathroom needed a complete update. When we went to the continental breakfast area, the floors were filthy. Hadn't been vacuumed in ages. We will never stay there again.

The floor in our room made the bottom of my white socks dark with dirt. The ceiling in the bathroom looked to have some water damage. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was fine. The view of the river from our room was very nice. Overall, I'd rate the stay as average.

The property was well maintained and all staff I encountered were friendly and courteous. The room was nicely furnished and clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever had at a hotel. Hotel was easy to find. Very satisfied with my stay and will be a repeat customer if I'm ever in the area again.

The property has a wonderful view of the river. The property needs some renovations, bathroom door will not shut, door to outside terrace had large gaps, paint chipping off walls, electrical extension cord on floor in front of terrace door. Went to the front desk when I checked in and spoke to Kevin at the front desk to complain about out terrace that had bird droppings on the deck, railing and chairs and table. I asked if someone could clean it up but nobody was available. Kevin promised that it would be taken care of in the morning (never happened). We had a neighbor next to us smoking on his balcony and I asked him to please not smoke since I have a breathing problem. He was not nice and starting swearing at me. I went to the front desk and asked what the policy of smoking on the deck since you cannot smoke in your room. The girl at the front desk had no idea what the policy was.

Do you really need to know more than there are pee stains on the bedding? That black strap thing was left in the room-in the bed. Gross. Room is very small-we had 3 adults in the room -cramped and terrible. Bathroom as the fan/light in same switch…fan had a loud rattle so could not leave on light for late night use. Even for a roadside motel $200 for this was complete robbery. River view is nice and that area is well maintained.

I had to do work and called about the wifi not connecting and/or it kept dropping. They called me back to say that the IT people said there was nothing wrong. No fix no resolution. The toilet ran all night. We had to lift the cover off and hold the piece to get it to flush. Told front desk when i checked out. They said thats funny no one else complained about that room yesterday. As if I was lying. Hotel is very clean, but the staff need a lesson on customer service. Very freq edible places around the area. Nonetheless it was very clean, just too many issues

The hotel sits right on the river with all of the rooms facing it. It was nice to be able to sit on the balcony. Room was clean, breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast ; eggs, muffins, waffle machine etc. It’s a pretty good option for a place to stay in Cheboygan.

They’ve done a few positive updates to the rooms. The walls and floors above (I was on ground level) are thin and noisy. I could audibly hear my neighbors to either side and knew each time the occupants above me were moving.

Felt very welcomed and informed. Enjoyed the remodel, Room was nice. People upstairs were VERY loud but not your fault. View was super great, nice to have a little backyard area with a river view. Service was great.

Did not have a window to the outside. Just a sliding glass door to a hallway that people walked by. So keep it closed so we were not getting natural light. Think room rate should be cheaper because of the lack of sunlight. Not cool.

Beds were a little on the hard side. Definitely seemed like a few employees live on property. Host was a bit rude. Stayed 5 nights and had to ask for more towels and he was annoyed. It’s 5 days with a family of 4. 4 towels won’t cut it bud. Seen staff smoking in the rooms

Front desk staff was consistently kind, professional, and accommodating. We asked to switch rooms to better view the beautiful river and they made it happen quickly, no hassle. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and as expected. The property was quiet and well maintained. River view was quite nice! Had coffee and watched boats roll by in the morning, ducks walking the grounds.

We arrived late very tired after visiting with my brother who is terminal. There was no one at the front desk with a strong over powering smell of marijuana in the lobby as we walked into the reception area. Had to wait 20 minutes for someone to check us in and get our room key. Very disappointed

Had trouble assessing my room as keys kept deactivating. Was heavily discouraged from using the Kuerig when the free coffee was available. Service was so-so but not overwhelming courteous but did everything required. Compared with other options this is the best available property in Cheboygan but if there was serious competition it might facilitate changes.

The property is right beside the river. The balcony overlooks the boats on the water. Some patrons docked their boat along the wall. The rooms have been updated and were very clean and comfortable. Hotel is within walking distance to downtown. We could hear the people in the adjoining room but otherwise the area was quiet. Note: there is no elevator to second floor so if you have difficulty climbing stairs, request 1st floor room. I'd have no hesitation to staying here again.

Had a wedding to attend. Gathered together with a large group of friends. Clean establishment, and lots of food around and Walmart is across the street. Good weekend get away. The views of the river with the walk is a nice touch.

I liked that the floors were hard floors and not those filthy carpets. However they were a little dirty since my feet got very dirty from the bath to the other side of the room. But over all very nice. The clerk or manager was very nice and did his best to accommodate my handicapped needs for my husband. He even helped me get him in the room. The breakfast was good. I was surprised to have a hot breafast. The room was pretty quiet even being next to the pool. The best part was the man that cleaned of my car and every one elses after a snow storm. I was shocked. I found the man that did it and he said he does it regularly. That was above and beyond. I will stay here again if i am in the area.

Overall an okay stay. They had a very nice breakfast layout with DIY waffles, eggs, sausage gravy with biscuits, and some hot and cold cereal options along with juice, coffee, and tea. The hotel was a little oddly laid out, so hard to figure out at first. But pretty clean, and the pool and hot tub was nice even if the room was unbelievably hot. Our room was clean, although the beds were not very comfortable. In our opinion it was a bit too expensive for the stay quality.

Very nice staff but a little pricey for an old outdated motel. Although it was pretty clean and beds were comfortable. The free breakfast was a little late as we were told it would be ready at 5:30 but a ok continental breakfast.
