Really enjoyed the pool. Staff very helpful and effort to make our stay the best

While this hotel is in a decent area and close to the expressway, the pictures were deceiving online. This is a motel, not a hotel like other Best Westerns I have stayed at. The pool was detached from the rooms so we had to walk outside in the snow to get to and from the pool. The pool was large, had an 8 foot deep end, but was not heated. We were given shower floor mats to dry off with at the pool instead of towels. The room was very small. The lobby and room smelled of wet dog and cigarettes.

Quiet and safe place and easy parking

Very icy outside of the room in the parking lot area. There should at least be a covered & salted walkway to the main building for visiting customers to safely walk over for breakfast. Also, it wasn’t pleasant to have to walk in the cold to get to the breakfast area.

The room itself was fine. When booking a few hours prior to our stay, we were told the pool was open until 11:30pm. When we got there, it had already closed at 7pm.

My daughter and I were very impressed with their breakfast! Waffles, cereal, muffins, fresh eggs biscuits bacon sausage. Rooms were great, clean and comfy. We enjoyed the laundry service as we were traveling and moving. Pool was refreshing and clean and located so conveniently in hartland with lots of stuff to do and see.

I was dissapointed in my stay. I was really hoping to go to the pool. It was closed. I looked through the outside window and saw algae all over the top of the water, so it was probably way overdue for cleaning and maintenance. My room, to the naked eye was alright. But that carpet is way overdue for steam cleaning. The shower needs to be bleached badly. It had yellow soap scum everywhere. Overall, the bed was really comfortable. My main complaint is about the pool. If it is unavailable, then why are you charging full price for the rooms?

Staff at check in/out as well as breakfast area were very friendly and helpful. Pool was being cleaned when we arrived at 3 Friday & still being cleaned at 10 Saturday morning. Disappointed. Beds were clean & ver comfortable. Bathroom was clean, but tub was stained from age.

Best Western of Hartland is a really nice MOTEL and a good place to stay if you are in the area. A few things to know. 1) It is a MOTEL. Your door opens to the outside weather. Nothing wrong with that but an important fact. This is Michigan so weather is a factor. 2) Most of the extras are in a different building. Indoor pool, laundry, ice machine, breakfast, vending machines. So wearing a swimsuit and walking to the other building when it is 40 degrees out is something to consider. 3) There are two floors of rooms and only stairs to the second floor – no elevator. If you have mobility issues make sure to ask for a room on the first floor. Overall it was a good experience. Bed was comfortable. Shower worked great but be sure to keep the curtain inside the low lip or water will get on the bathroom floor. Good selection of channels for cable. Small refrigerator and microwave in the room and a Kroger and a Meijer within a block or two so I had cold sodas (pop) available at all times. Bring your own alarm since none is provided. Breakfast was pretty good. Scrambled eggs, meat (bacon or sausage -not both), breakfast burrito and Belgian waffles or pancakes at each serving. Coffee, black tea and some juices too. Sometimes gravy and biscuits if you like that. Right next to US 23 so easy freeway access. I bet this place is REALLY busy during the summer. Check about COVID restrictions (like no new towels each day. No problem for me). If you like motels this is a good place to stay.

The room was very clean; staff was very friendly and helpful and available right away for anything. There were not enough towels in our room and the front desk was very accommodating with quickly getting us more. The only negative is that is located near major roads and we could hear the road noise; but that is just due to the location. No complaints about the staff and the room.

Check in was simple and easy. We walk into the room and it smelled muggy and like mildew. I always inspect the rooms first ( I worked in housing for 8 years). The bed sheets seems like they weren't changed so I asked for fresh sheets. The bathroom ceiling has black mold on it. The caulk was orange and covered in soap scum. Same with the mat inside the bathtub. Also the fridge is only a fridge, there isn't a small freezer compartment, like other hotels. The breakfast was as expected.. just your average overcooked eggs and sausage. But it did have your own waffle station which was nice! Overall it was a good stay. The room just needs to be aired out and the mold issue taken care of. I would stay again.

There was dead flies in the window sill and flying around. Room smelt bad when we walked in. Specifically booked a room with a sleeper sofa. Around 10 pm when we went to go to sleep realized there was no mattress. Made sense why sitting on the couch was so uncomfortable. Boys had to walk down in the rain and roll a bed to the second floor in the night and pouring rain. Dog in a room nearby barked all night and morning. Couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Housekeeping was not the best. Dust built up on top of objects (TV, mirrors, headboard etc.) Items not vacuumed behind(room lounge chair and end tables etc) and trash cans were dirty inside. The shower head was. Racked in the area of the threads causing it to leak and water pressure was not the best! Room key notnnot work to get into the pool due to the mechanisms not working. However. The people were curtious, the pool was warm, and had no issues getting extra necessary items (blankets, pillows towels etc).

Very clean and well-kept property

I spoke with team on the phone and added a night to my stay after a booking error I made. I was assured that my reservation would be extended and I could stay in the same room. Unfortunately, when I returned to my room on Saturday night, very late, neither of my keys worked. I had to go back downstairs and walk to the office to have the keys refreshed. Not happy. The front desk agent did not apologize but said the extension was probably the cause. The room did not seem clean - particularly the bathtub. It felt like it had a film on it, making it more slippery. The kleenex box was empty and the shampoo and conditioner were practically empty. It was frustrating for the price of the Saturday night stay. There are so few options in the Hartland area - but I might think twice about staying with you again.

The carpet in our room was very old. As soon as you opened the door is was musty and mildew smelling.

Convenient pricing but very average accomafdations. Beds are super comfy. Thin walls.

Room was clean and nice. However, the walls in between the rooms were very thin. The people next to us would fight and it was very unsettling. Then we could hear a sex show through the wall. Stairs to the 2nd floor were not safe due to the height and narrowness of the steps. I probably would never stay here again. You get what you pay for.

Service was awesome. Friendly and helpful. Rooms are pretty outdated (carpet, bathrooms) beds were comfy so that was good. Good price so it worked for what we needed.

The mattress was too firm/uncomfortable, but more disturbing was that after checking in I approached the door and found it already open a crack. All was well inside, but it was a little creepy.

Our stay was fine. Nothing to write home about, but nothing particularly bad. It's a decent spot. Free breakfast was mediocre. Although they did have free, unsecured Internet that was mostly glitch-free, the location is a cellular dead zone & that really made the stay just a bit irritating & inconvenient. The were clean. Everything worked fine. We saw a few ants here & there, at times. We were also supposed to get a room with a tub/shower combo, but we didn't get a tub. All-in-all it was just an adequate stay. Kinda meh.

The room was clean and the breakfast was as good as you'd expect. One downside was my room faced the main road going through town and you could hear the traffic.

Bathroom needs a “night light” and bed was not super comfortable. Also, someone had a fight outside our door in the middle of the one (of 5) nights. Other than that, it was a very good stay. My husband didn’t want to wake me because I slept through it so he didn’t call or confront.

The room was very clean; staff was very friendly and helpful and available right away for anything. I was staying 2 nights for a wedding down the street so this hotel was convenient. So the front desk clerk proceeds to run my credit card the problem is she ran each night separately. So my card was approved for the first night, but declined for the second night. I’m totally confused as I had plenty of funds on my card!!! But I gave her a different credit card to try and the same thing happened she ran each night separately so of course the first night got approved and the second night was declined. Then she finally gets the second night approved on my second credit card, then she proceeded to run my second credit card again then I was charged for an additional two nights for a total of four nights. As I’m standing there I see both charges come on my phone and told her she charged me twice. She didn’t believe me so I had to show her on my phone that she indeed did run my credit card twice!!! And the sad thing is even though she refunded me for the second charge it takes 2-3 business days for the refund to process. I since learned that when she was running each night separately both credit card companies flagged the charges as fraudulent. I’m not sure if she was new but she seemed to be very frazzled to be running a front desk!!! And maybe needs better training on how to process credit cards. Because for this to happen to two different credit cards means something was wrong on her end.

Friendly, clean, excellent breakfast!

Not anything special from the outside, but rooms were clean and updated, beds were very comfortable, and the staff was amazing! Check in gal called the room after check-in to make sure our room was okay. The morning guy made us a fresh round of hot breakfast food (we were towards the end of breakfast hours), and did so with a smile. Just aboveboard staff!

Stayed 2 nights for my granddaughter’s wedding. Fine for what we needed, showers and sleep. Located.9 miles from venue.

Room was nice and clean. Shower pressure good. I cant comment on the free breakfast because I didn't eat there but it's at least offered. Close to many restaurants and shops. I would stay again.

Locared in Hartland just US 23. Its a great place to.atay if you are in the area. Lots of restaurants and common stores in the area.

Our stay was good. Check in was great. The front desk lady was very nice. rooms were clean, but smelled musty. Not sure why there is no maid service anymore. I had to ask for more towels and wash cloths. It was nice that they offered a hot breakfast, but no one ever checked on the food or cleaned up. Many items were out and no one refilled for over 30 or 40 minuted. Or cleaned up spilled cereal on the floor. I dont know if they were short handed or what. Also we did assume that since they had a pool, that they would have a hot tub, but no. That was a disapointment.

Check in area smelled terrible like smoke and stuffy. after we checked in we went to our room and the door was not even closed… there were no sheets for the pull out couch … breakfast was terrible juice machines didn’t work … it was a mess

Everything was great. Breakfast was excellent. Everyone was wonderful and accommodating. Place was well maintained and clean.
