Hometown Inn Indian River

I had booked this hotel based on prior reviews, which makes me wonder if it has recently changed management or ownership, as we did not have a great experience. The room was clean, and the pool (although we did not use) looked nice. One major concern was that the door to the outside did not shut or latch properly; meaning anyone could walk into the hotel from that route. It was noted that staff did regular walk arounds the building though. Unfortunately, we were treated extremely rudely by a staff member who called threatening to call the police at 11 PM due to the way we were parked with a trailer. We had been parked that same way all night, witnessed the staff walk around by where we were parked, and also were not given any specific parking instructions upon arrival even when I said we had a boat and trailer. When I tried to explain on the phone that we were already in bed (my husband was sleeping) and that prior staff had no issue with the way we were parked, the threats began and I was called multiple times until we moved our vehicle at 11:30 PM. I have never ever been treated this way, and at this time at night, at any place we have stayed prior with our boat (and we travel a lot), so this is one place I will never ever return to and do not recommend. It has the feeling of a sinking family business.

Breakfast was great! It is one of the reason we choose this hotel

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I wish breakfast was served 6 - 10 instead of 6 - 9. Definitely will stay again next year.

Love being up north. Great central location. Nice clean rooms.
