Baymont by Wyndham Madison Heights Detroit Area

When we arrived our first night the clerk was rude the room was ok beds were terrible . Our FIVE nights there we were overwhelmed by Marijuana smoke in our rooms halls everywhere! We stayed at this hotel because it advertised a pool when we got there they posted a sign closed for season in mid August? The pool was littered with trash and water was green. We asked clerk if we get a discount he said no. When we travel we have always stayed in a wyndham hotel and this was awful and we will be choosing a new chain.

I booked a jacuzzi suite for my boyfriend birthday. I checked in a little late. The front desk was accommodating with that. We went up to the room. The rooms are really out dated.. jacuzzi was not clean enough to my liking. The sofa has burn holes..the chair had stains… fast forward… we leave to go out a little. Came back parked right in front of our door.. noticed it was cracked open a little. Not sure why our room door was open. But we immediately told the front desk. The front desk called the police. The police arrived. There was nothing taken. I only had an overnight bag.. nothing too valuable. But I didn’t feel safe. I told the police that I was not staying there. I returned my key to the front desk? And asked if I could get a refund. Because I didn’t feel safe. She told me I had to speak with a manager. And of course the supervisor was not there. I called a little later that morning and was sent to his/her voicemail. I left a detailed message. But no call back. $146 down the drain. I’ll never stay at another Baymont. Horrible experience.. ghetto and elevators didn’t work.. looks like a trucker stop.

The pool was great. The floor in our room was wet.

The bed was super comfortable. The pillows were great. Breakfast could’ve started a little later in the morning and went on a little longer and they should’ve kept it stocked. The pool really needs to be resurfaced. Gonna be nice as the property had an adult hot tub.

The room was dirty, the blankets had stains. Cigarette ashes were on the toilet paper holder. The chair to sit on had what looked like “human stains” all over it. Room service didn’t show up so I had to track someone down for towels and toilet paper. The pool was gross with leaves floating in top. Breakfast was supposed to be included but was only available one day of my stay. 2nd floor smelled like something was rotting. Staff was not friendly and acted inconvenienced when asked for help.

Noise level from room upstairs was unbearable. Pool was out of operation to our disappointment.

We arrived from Traverse City around 9:20pm. The lady at the check out was nice but very hard to understand. However, it really smelled. The elevator was even worse, dirty and so smelly. We got our room keys and headed to the room. As I opened the door and stepped in, a foul smell came out of our room. Musty, moldy very strong smell. The room felt dirty, there was a random sheet laying a-crossed the chair. The amount of water damage on the ceiling and the terrible patch jobs on the walls. I didn’t feel clean at all staying in the room. My family and I turned right around and left. I let the lady at the desk know. She was polite about it. Thanks for being polite but we will not be staying there again.

Convenient to the highway, quiet, and the room was clean. Mattress was extremely soft! The price was excellent and offers a late checkout option.

The room smelled when we arrived...the bathroom vent hadnt been cleaned in a long time...the vent was brown...

The rooms were filthy dirty floors, bathtubs. Sinks, and furniture. Had to go get clean towels and toilet paper. Never cleaned the room and we were there three days. Food at the breakfast bar was old the bread and sausage. Just a horrible experience all around

A bright street light shone through the window in the bedroom, and there were no curtains to cover this street light. My room was completely lit up throughout the entire night because of this. Poor breakfast, and no one at the front desk in the morning.

Room was so cold we didn’t take our coats off for 15 minutes while we turned up the heater. The sink was very low, uncomfortable to use. Bed was OK, but the pillows were terrible and the blanket was weird.

The room was inexpensive comparably to other hotels in the area. However, the walls are paper thin. You can hear the people walking above you. TV is nice size beds, comfy but the room is basically old dingy and needs severe upgrades. Do you want to stay a night somewhere and save some bucks? This is a decent place to stay, but if you want to spend an extra 20 bucks it’s probably worth it somewhere else

Rooms are old and in need of painting (such as doors). Floor on outside balconies need fresh paint. Sign numbers on outside balconies need refreshing - they are worn. There could be some flower planters outside by lobby to brighten it up. All in all, it’s a little dingy. Mattress was soft and needs replacing. Good price.

This property needs to be refurbished, or is on its way for doing so. The bathroom had patch areas from being re-spackled and had not yet been painted. The shower curtain had a few rips in it. The tub had old safety strips that absolutely need replaced. The bathroom color choice?….wow, couldn't have been more offensive. Mustard brown and the harsh lighting made it all the worse! Several of the floor moulding tiles had been chipped. Very poor! The only reason I rated the room as ok was because the king bed was very comfortable!! It provided a restful night. For a couple spending more than a few nights in this room, there was far too little drawer space! I realize the breakfast is “free”, of course, it isn’t…there was no decaf coffee available. On the morning I was downstairs, there were several of us that only drank decaf. Had to go to the McDonalds across the street for decaf. Breakfast was barely adequate. Scramble eggs had a decided aftertaste…not appealing! Had to go to the front desk three time to have entry card keys re-programmed. Most of the front desk staff was very nice and helpful . When we asked the gentleman that works night to re-program our key cards, never said one word and we obviously disturbed him…. Overall…..I’m quite certain I will not stay with Baymont again!

Friendly Staff. Air conditioner worked great. Beds are comfortable. No complaints.

We asked for a king bed we got two queen beds and the air conditioning didn’t work well I was hot all night.

The room could have been cleaner smudged walls. It was hot upon entering. Took a long time to get the heat out of the bed. The sheets must have been polyester. Made you sweat in the night.

It was nasty and disgusting, fifth all in the elevator, they had no hand washing soap in the bathroom downstairs fiber breakfast serving room smh so he asked him to put some soap in the bathroom and they did. they put me in Room 122 which was disgusting and it smelled as if somebody was smoking and drinking in there and I told them I don't smoke or drink. The customer service was awful, all of the women were rude and nasty, instead of them wanting to move me from room 122 which I suggest nobody ever gets, they wanted to give me my money back because the manager the clerk was on the phone with said all the rooms were the same, which is not true! smh, so I told the lady I traveled too far for this and she decided to let me look at room 302 and I liked it much better then 122. There was stains on the wall in 122, crumbs on the floor and you could barely fit in the bathroom if you're plus size and I'm a full figure woman smh. the breakfast food is terrible and it's just overall a nasty dark atmosphere with rude people working for them but I must say the housekeepers were very sweet. Oh and I forgot to mention the pool was broke, they got attitudes when you asked for washcloths and dry towels even when you were returning your Old Ones... I will never go back there again and I suggest nobody else does either. I strongly advise no one to ever go to that place because it's disgusting and nasty.

Staff was never at the front desk

We had stayed at this hotel before and it wasnt bad. This time - the first thing that you notice going in to the hotel to check in was that the elevator was out of service. I was made to feel like i was inconvenienceing the staff by requesting a first floor room. Once in the room, it was dirty. The toilet did not flusg properly. The carpet was pulling up in several spots and there where upholstery staples sticking out of the carpet. The heat did not work properly- despite setting the temp to 77, it was still blowing cold air. The microwave was nasty. The bread and bagels for breakfast were stale. When I tried to call the front desk to let them know that the toilet wouldnt flush, i had to use my cell phone be ause the phone in the room did not work. A staff member brought a plunger to the room and tried to hand it to me like i was expected to plunge the toilet. Absolutely horrible stay. I would not even recomend this hotel to a homeless person, thats how bad it was.

There was shopping within walking distance. AC not really needed but it does cool well.

It was clean no noise except for being on the side with the main road. Didn't hear any noise in the hallway. felt safe staying at the hotel. Breakfast was available but didn't use it due to my schedule. Check in I got there half hour early and had to wait for my room.

Twin Peaks in the same parking lot was quite the dining experience! Breakfast buffet out of sausage, was never replenished. Great property for the price. Nothing special, but it was cheap so I am happy.

I would NOT recommend this hotel. It was the worse experience I have had. I travel often nationally and internationally. Photos on website were misleading. I couldn't wait to leave. It advertised breakfast and was not available. Upon check in we were told breakfast was available from 6:30-9:30 daily. The second morning they said the time had changed to 6:00-8:00! We were not informed of this change. The third morning they said that breakfast was not available. They made NO attempt to be accommodating or offer restitution. Another issue was poor cleanliness, no cleaning of the room/taking garbage out/smelled of smoking, clean towels, mattress was grossly stained with yellow stains; hallways smelled of rotten garbage/vomit. Staff was unfriendly and attire was unclean. When approached, they seemed to be bothered. I would not advertise this hotel on your website. I think I deserve a refund!

Breakfast was gone before 8:30 they didn't restock it so I just ate a apple.
