The property was clean.. but the pool area was not as clean. The hot tub didn’t really work. The ice machines were out of order. The area around the hotel were a little sketchy.

While the area is clean, the building is old and you can only do as much. The service at the front desk is very good. Alicia was all smiles in attending to the guests. There were two swimming pools which were both modest.

Awesome service. Great rooms and indoor as well as outdoor pool. The bathroom needs some repairs.

The rooms were not soundproof it was very loud all night kids running all around the hallway screaming the pool and the pool floor was nasty the hot tub is attached to the pool with pool water splashing in it and not hot at all and no elevator plus very expensive for a crap room

Hotel is what you would expect for 3-4 star hotel and the price. One of the reasons I have booked here in the past was the pool and the ability of having nieces and nephews visit and go swimming. new management and policies prohibit this and they also require you to wear a wrist band. I will be looking elsewhere next trip!

We stayed here due to location near Michigan’s Adventure and photos of pool area looked great. The place was a bit run down. Eating area had recently been updated which was nice. But stairwells were dirty (and there’s no elevators so you have to use stairs), hallways were dark and had cosmetic issues on walls, like rips in wall paper or broken numbers. Pool area was also not kept up well, decor is dated annd just seemed like it could use more frequent clean Ong on the floors, and some areas were closed off with caution tape. The room was clean thankfully but the carpet was soaked (sopping wet) from A/C unit which seemed unhealthy. This was not worth the price per night we paid. Way overpriced.

Could use a broom or two and hot tub was green

They have a free breakfast with lots of options and they keep it full. The pool areas need more attention. The doors leading into pool area were having issues and couldn’t be opened with room keys Good location- lots of convenience with restaurants and shopping

Checked in and found out the pool and hot tub were closed. They also locked down the entire atrium/game room area.

Pool deck and floors filthy. Toilet didn’t flush. Air conditioner could not keep up with the dampness. Breakfast was limited and ended too early-9:30 am while the dining area full, everything was turned off and cleared. Don’t stay here, way overpriced.

The reviews did not match our experience at all. People come, like us, for our kids to enjoy the pools, but the public spaces were more disgusting than the rooms. In the rooms, the bedding it's covered in hair and stains. We wore our shoes the whole time because the carpet was sticky. There was mold growing in the shower and makeup on the hand towels. I know that a lot of the hotel needs updated, but these are basic cleanliness issues. I wouldn't bring it to anyone's attention because in our time there, we encountered 10 to 15 staff, and they were all rude and I wouldn't dare try my chances saying anything.

There was stuff on the sheets in our room and bunched up towels by the iron on the shelf that had something on it when we got into the room ...dont they clean in between stays? Other than the cleanliness everything was fine.

Not very clean or kept up, run down. Pool area not cleaned (dirty bandaids, trash over flowing), carpet in room dirty and sticky, etc.

Room was Not cleaned properly when arrived. Carpet Full of dust and bathroom floor was sticky and litter box not emptied

Found a piece of hair in the fridge when opened to put bottle water in. Bathroom looked like it can be cleaned better.

Our family stayed here for 3 nights and not once our room was cleaned. I called the front desk on the second day and she said that they only clean the rooms every 3 days. We ran out of garbage bags and towels and they wouldn’t bring them to our room. The air conditioning unit in our room leaked condensation all over the carpet in our room which created a nasty smell and wet carpet. We had to go to the front desk 3 times to request new room keys because they stopped working. Outside of the hotel was a little sketchy because there were homeless people with shopping carts wandering around the area as well. A couple positives, the breakfast in the morning was pretty good for a continental breakfast and the pool and arcade area kept our younger kids busy. However, the indoor pool had a broken light connected by a wire just hanging out on the side of the pool, which in my opinion is a pretty major hazard. Safe to say we will not return and do not recommend.

Hallway has heavy smoke/mold smell. Rooms have heavy antiseptic smell.

If there was a zero this hotel would be a zero. We came here pre covid and it was just as bad. They are trying to update the look in some of the rooms but the entire facility is gross (beyond dirty) and under managed. To top it off I found a fake fingernail stuck to the comforter when we woke up yuck!

The room had signs of bed beds and the sheets appeared unwashed. Everything felt musty.

Location was great. Other than that- the property REEKED like weed and we had small children with us that we didn’t want smelling like that as well. Our tub didn’t look clean, our floor wasn’t vacuumed, our dresser had crumbs & was dirty inside. Overall disappointing for the cost.

The bathroom was nice. An older hotel so the room was quiet. The room had a slight odor to it but was clean.

The TV in our room had been damaged at some point so there was a line down the center that cut off about 10% of the image. The dresser had been damaged at some point and the drawers would not stay closed. The bathroom had been remodeled but there was paint covering the outlet and paint on the tile.

Every single member of the staff we encountered was excellent - friendly, helpful, and even cheerful despite the hotel being at capacity. The property itself shows some wear, though it is clear that they are putting effort into it. The pool and hot tub were great while we were using them. Our room had a sour smell to it, which was a little off-putting, but not a big deal. Our room had a window out onto the indoor pool though and it was so noisy from 8:00AM to 10:15PM that we had to talk loudly to be able to hear each other in the in room. We thought once the pool closed we could get some rest but there were people shouting and laughing in the hallways literally all night. Again, we figured that things would calm down by 1 or 2, but they kept going until 4 in the morning and then was commotion again at it at 6:50. We enjoyed the pool and meeting other guests there. The breakfast was very good. Particularly with how thoughtful the staff was I hate rating the hotel, "Just OK" but we didn\'t get any sleep which if the main thing we need a hotel to provide.

The staff were helpful and nice. The beds were really comfortable and clean.

It was just fine. It wasn't dirty, but wasn't exceptionally clean. It had a poorly remodeled bathroom and some maintenance issues that didn't impact my use of the room, but left it feeling cheap and uncared for.

In the first room the heater did not work and was given a second room Later that night Another Guest was given a key and entered my room. the soap shelf in the shower was missing, wasn't able to take a shower. The upholstered chair was plastic and uncomfortable. I sank in to far (too low) and struggled to get up from the chair.

Comfortable room but noisy on the highway side

Toilet Clogged, Carpet Squishy.

The hotel felt a little old but was clean. Beds were comfortable. Wasn’t impressed with the bathtub shower. It served its purpose. Breakfast was pretty good with variety of items. Would probably stay there again if in the area. Bonus points for being in front of Sam’s club!

When we went to check in no one was at the desk for 30 minutes. She was out talking to her friends by the pool and smoking. The shower door would not stay closed . I had to hold it closed while I tried to shower. The shower had mold around the edges

check out staff was rude. My husband went to ask for a late checkout. They told him they could not accommodate it and we’re rude about the request. I went to talk to the concierge, Fran she then told me they could accommodate a nooncheckout. I asked her why she didn’t tell my husband that, she had an attitude and dismissively said “ well we can make it an 11am check out now”. we also found roaches in the dwelling the room had a musty, muggy smell.

Everyone was so nice! We had an issue with the sink they got it taken care of. One of the nicest hotels for the price we will be going back!

Front desk lady was very polite and helpful. She guided us on everything. Room was neat and clean.

This was the worst stay ever. Upon arriving I knew I didnt want to stay as the pics online and what I saw in person was not the same. It was run down, smell bad and not clean. My card was charged twice for incidentals and they never accurately checked me in. But that's not the reason for my bad review. Instead being mean to staff I emailed Hotels.com to see if I could switch my reservation the next day without making a scene. When I went to front desk to ask if check-in was complete the manager confronted me about my complaints, and said we've checked you out and you have to leave. I told her oh, I had no idea, I was told someone would email me if it was still an option. She looked extremely upset and said we're not up to your standard so you have to go we checked you out, maybe your next stay will be better. This was extremely rude, unnecessary and wrong. While I did want to leave, I thought I was doing it in a respectful manner, but apparently she was offended and chose to lash out instead of take the time exercise great customer service. I will never allow someone to treat me this way and take my money. HORRIBLE STAY!

Staff was wonderful. Room was good. Carpet could be a little cleaner.

Our stay here was very awful. Stay away. Dirty. Staff didn’t seem to care at all. Pictures are very misleading on the website. Stay at your own risk!!

Clean and nice property with lots of dining/ shopping places nearby.

Stayed for a night before picking up our student from Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Excellent location, lots of options for dining and supplies. Check in was uneventful, but be sure to ask for a free cookie if they don't offer! Beds were comfortable with decent pillows and sheets. The bathroom was showing its age in terms of wear and tear, but overall it seemed clean. The room itself was fine, though the armchair upholstery was spotted and could use a deep clean. A deciding factor for us was the pool - there is both an indoor and outdoor pool. The upper observatory deck was cordoned off when we were there. You will need to wear a wristband for both the pool and breakfast. Breakfast the was good with fresh fruit, breads, cereal, two different waffle makers, and gravy and biscuits. I appreciated the staff on hand to keep up with the people coming through. Overall, decent and close to Blue Lake for our purposes.

Property itself is..fine. It’s literally in a Walmart parking lot. The hotel clearly had some issues with air conditioning in the hallways as there were fans in the upper floor. No elevator by the way, keep that in mind when you’re lugging luggage up stairs. Room was clean enough, AC

Convenient off of 31. Easy on and off.

We stayed just one night. Our room was clean and the staff were nice. We had a hard time finding the motel. They need better signage. Their sign wasn’t lit up and it is black and sits low. It didn’t help that Mapquest directed us across the street ( I reported this to them).

Close by Walmart and Michigan adventure!

Clean and off the highway

Not in a very good area, extremely noisy at night with music blasting outside of the window, can hear everything in the rooms next to mine, and didn’t feel extremely clean but cleanliness was ok. Staff was nice but didn’t interact with them much. Overall not a horrible place to stay but not five stars.

Nice pool area, beds comfy and sheets extra soft. Lots of resturants and walmart in same parking lot. Close to Michigan adventure. Basic free breakfast

Everything was great, the services was amazing from the moment we walk in the door. The pool was clean and the hot tub was amazing. Only problem we had was our key cards had to be change twice because they stop working. My family enjoy our stay and if we are ever back in town this is we’re planing to stay.

Like: It is convenient to Michigan Adventures and had a dining area available by pool. Dislike: not enough help for morning breakfast. The gentleman was trying, but unable to keep up.

You can tell mgmt and staff are trying to make improvements, but they still have a long way to go. Our experience started poorly because, as soon as we entered our room, we discovered the toilet wouldn’t flush. The staff promptly came to fix the issue, but I was appalled that he just used a dry rag to wipe up what spilled on the floor in the process (we took a trip to the nearby WalMart for disinfectant wipes immediately)! Our room had recently been painted, and there were paint splatters everywhere- on the bed skirts, hanging artwork, alarm clock, emergency exit signs. Similar to other reviews- there were no toiletries in the bathroom (soap, shampoo, conditioner); the carpet in our room desperately needed a shampoo (it was sticky and discolored in several places); it was a toss-up if your door key was going to work whether it was for your room, the pool area, or the exterior entrances; and overall, there were just big opportunities with cleanliness (we found a Contigo water bottle in our room from the previous occupant, fake fingernails and candy on the floor and under the furniture). The cleanest things in the room were the beds, but I still had my kids sleep on top of the covers and just use the blankets they brought. Definitely not what I expected for the price we paid (avg $274/night).

Clean room and bathroom, plenty of towels. Spacious room. The breakfast was a bit disappointing. No warm breakfast items except for waffles.

Hallways not very clean, and signs of wear. Room was fine. At breakfast, coffee was periodically unavailable because they only had one dispenser out. For the price, I was expecting a little more.

We chose this hotel because it was listed as having a bar and restaurant. It had neither. When we approached the desk staff about this inconsistency she just said “we know that“. We tried to enjoy the pool/spa area. Many broken tiles on the spa, jets did not work surface around the area was very slick and we slipped several times. Thermostat was governed and we were never able to get our room cool enough to be comfortable. A couple at the desk in front of us complained that their room did not have enough water pressure to what their toothbrushes to brush their teeth and many of their electrical outlets were not working. They were not offered any accommodation so they wanted to cancel their next night reservation and we were told they would still be charged for it. People in line behind us, complained that they found two used condoms in their bed and ended up sleeping in their car and we’re denied any sort of refund.
