Great stay. This is serious knit picking, but the bed comforter was scratchy. Their water fountain was not working. The pool was closed because of the storm the day before. I’m sure some kind of PH imbalance or something. No big deal. I critique everything, so just trying to be real. Would I book there again…absolutely.

Issues we had: 1 - Reserved Non-smoking room. Room had definitely been smoked it as the smell hit me as soon as I opened the door. 2 - Exhaust fan in bathroom didn’t work. 3 - Bathroom light switch mostly broken, but still worked. 4 - 1st floor ice maker out of order and had to go to upper floors for ice. 6 - Juice dispenser out of order, so no juice for complementary breakfast. For the price I paid for the room I would have expected a much better stay.

Check in was easy, the staff were great considering they couldn’t issue us room keys due to a computer glitch. Each and every time you left and returned, someone had to walk you to your room.

The front desk staff we talk to was on top of everything and made our hurricane stay very easy to keep our same room and never have to move the three nights we were there! I wish I could remember the dark headed girls name at the front desk that was the most helpful to us!! The room was ok did have a smell of pee when the air came on for some reason but I sprayed tones of disinfectant spray in it and around the area and we made it through!!

We were able to get in almost 2 hours early which was great! The room was nice, however the bathroom smelled bad when we got there and it was not the cleanest. The refrigerator also did not work. Breakfast was great and staff were friendly. Overall it was a nice stay.

I have been staying at the hotel a few times a year for a couple years. It has progressively got worse and worse in the cleanliness department. I doubt I will stay there again. Staff are pleasant and helpful.

Awesome staff. Room was clean but smelled like a wet dog, I didn’t think much of it until I come home and my dog wouldn’t stop sniffing me. Not a huge deal for me being a dog owner but I could see where this could cause issues with folks not pet friendly

For the price of the room you would expect the bathroom be clean. The floor was dirty. The nail clippings were not cleaned up. There was dirt, dust on the floor. Urine behind the toilet. A vacuum might be a good addition to the house cleaning standards.

The staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful but the room was very musty and the carpet not nice. The room smelled old and “wet”. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Hate to leave a poor review as the breakfast was good and the staff were so helpful and nice but the room where we stayed wasn’t great. It definitely needed to be aired out.

The stay was great. Nice and quiet. Hotel seemed a bit on the dirty side. Trash was in elevator lobbies practically all night and seen the next morning. Front desk staff was ok. Not very interested in their jobs at that moment of check in. No big deal.

The building was beautiful and the breakfast options were very good. The bed was comfortable. However, all hallway areas and our room smelled like cigarette smoke. Also, the room was damp whether we set the temperature cooler or warmer. We would stay here again but would like it more if the odor and dampness was corrected.

The staff were all very nice but maybe understaffed? The front desk was unmanned twice when I wanted to ask a question. …. My room seemed quite clean but there was mold in several places inthe bathroom There was no hair conditioner in the container in the shower. The toilet paper holder was crooked, just needs a screw replaced. … The free breakfast wasnt very good. The egg omlets only had 1 left in the warming pan and it looked dried out so I skipped that. The nicely hot grits needed to be cooked a little longer before being served. It just didn't seem up to par. But check in was quick, the rooms were clean and the beds were fairly comfortable and they had plenty of hot water.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn Newberry Opera House. Nice big rooms, bed was very comfortable and best of all, right across the street from the Opera House. Breakfast was good and plenty of room to enjoy it as well.

it was a very nice stay. but the curtains didn't cover the window opening and sic nice we were on the first floor it was a security concern. I did report to front desk. they said they'd see what they could do but it doesn't look like they could do anything bc nothing was done. the hotel had a good location. the room was spacious and comfortable. they let us have all the blankets and pillows we required. the front staff was professional and friendly. they knew the area well. having a cup of tea at bed time was divine. if ur a bigger person tho u may have problems going o the loo. it is a tight squeeze.

it was very clean and bed was comfortable, HOWEVER, train coming by three times throughout the night blaring its horn was an added feature i wasn't prepared for. black out shades serve no purpose if there are stops that keep them from closing more than half way. couch and companion chair were very uncomfortable to sit on. water pressure for shower created only a bit more than a drizzle. friday "hot" breakfast items were cold and rubbery (8am). auto waffle maker pointless if not turned on and no batter available. coffee in lobby by check-in counter was outstanding, though.

Solid property. Rooms were fairly good size, standard layout and neat. Intelligently put in plenty of towels, coffeee cups, etc. bed was a little saggy and pillows squashed easily. Parking was easy, staff friendly and convenient spot

Beautiful historic building now as a hotel in a great location if you are visiting Newberry SC. Staff was very friendly. The rooms themselves are very beat up though, and considering how full the parking lot was I would think Hilton could invest in cleaning it up a little. Wall mounted nightstand was half off the wall, peeling wall paper and stains in the bathroom, tub was scratched up a lot, drawers wobbled in the bathroom, toilet was very particular to get it to flush all the way, etc. Nothing worth calling maintenance over/asking for a better room, but the room could use some TLC.

Diamond, the manager on duty, went out of her way to be sure I was comfortable! There was an issue with the TV, so she switched our room to across the hall. We had a very nice stay. The entire staff was great!

When I arrived at 9:30 am the front desk clerk (Lesley) was on a personal phone call. I had to wait until she had "time" for me. When I explained I needed a room for a driver who was required by OSHA to get min 8 hrs and asked if she had our room available she pointed to the sign "Check in at 3.pm". I asked if 1 room was open. She pointed again. I asked her if she could.let me know as soon as one was available and she balked and said "our cleaning staff doesnt cone in until 10 am (30 minutes later). I said I would be back. I teturned at 11 am and she was again on a personal.call. I spotted maids cleaning roomss on the 1st floor down from the lobby and walked down to ask when one would be available and was told they had 3 ready. She walked ke to the front desk where Lesley angrily alfinnaly gave me a room. I will NEVER stay there again!!!

We stayed 2 nights while attending the Masters golf tournament in Augusta. The room was clean, well appointed, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s located in the historic downtown district of Newberry. Lovely shops, the Opera House, and a park are all within walking distance.

Our accommodations were very nice and comfortable. The hotel was in the downtown area of Newberry, SC and located close to our destination. I would stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn Newberry Opera House. Nice big rooms, bed was very comfortable and best of all, right across the street from the Opera House. Breakfast was good and plenty of room to enjoy it as well.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were welcomed with great personal staff, always happy and greeting us, when we got to our room, the bed was VERY comfy, even the pillows, sometimes hard to find both being comfy and having the right amount of blankets on the bed 😊. Breakfast, I would have to say I was blown away, the breakfast selection was the best we’ve had. Having kielbasa, waffles, tatters, eggs, also having the easy food on the go; muffins, yogurt and bagels. The next morning was just as amazing as the first morning to get breakfast. We have stayed at many hotels and Air B&Bs for our Spartan races; no place we’ve stayed at had EVER welcomed the Spartan Racers like yall did!!! It was not just posted in one spot it was posted everywhere in the lobby, outside of elevators, and inside the elevators, between my husband the other Spartans and myself we appreciated it so much!!!! The next time we make our next trip weather it is for a spartan run or to visit family we will be staying with yall… thank you for making our weekend perefect!

it was very clean and bed was comfortable, HOWEVER, train coming by three times throughout the night blaring its horn was an added feature i wasn't prepared for. black out shades serve no purpose if there are stops that keep them from closing more than half way. couch and companion chair were very uncomfortable to sit on. water pressure for shower created only a bit more than a drizzle. friday "hot" breakfast items were cold and rubbery (8am). auto waffle maker pointless if not turned on and no batter available. coffee in lobby by check-in counter was outstanding, though.

Issues we had: 1 - Reserved Non-smoking room. Room had definitely been smoked it as the smell hit me as soon as I opened the door. 2 - Exhaust fan in bathroom didn’t work. 3 - Bathroom light switch mostly broken, but still worked. 4 - 1st floor ice maker out of order and had to go to upper floors for ice. 6 - Juice dispenser out of order, so no juice for complementary breakfast. For the price I paid for the room I would have expected a much better stay.

The staff were all very nice but maybe understaffed? The front desk was unmanned twice when I wanted to ask a question. …. My room seemed quite clean but there was mold in several places inthe bathroom There was no hair conditioner in the container in the shower. The toilet paper holder was crooked, just needs a screw replaced. … The free breakfast wasnt very good. The egg omlets only had 1 left in the warming pan and it looked dried out so I skipped that. The nicely hot grits needed to be cooked a little longer before being served. It just didn't seem up to par. But check in was quick, the rooms were clean and the beds were fairly comfortable and they had plenty of hot water.

The hotel itself was fine for a one night stay. Clean room and bathroom with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent with hot foods like pancakes/waffles/eggs/toast and cereals, etc and started early at 6am which was great as we had to check out early. The only downside was that it was quite pricey, >$200 for the night which taken together with our experience in the town itself, I wouldn't recommend staying. My biggest complaint was the area of the hotel. Despite being very quaint, the town of Newberry seemed very 'sketchy'. We arrived at 4pm on a Monday evening. There was virtually no one out around and walking in the area outside of the hotel despite it being a warm spring day. ALL shops and restaurants were closed; we couldn't find any food available within walking distance of the hotel. Something just seemed off. I googled the city and apparently it has quite a high crime rate- I wonder if this was why? We randomly picked this town to stop for the night for a long commute. I wished I had read more about the surroundings as we were not able to get anything to eat or enjoy our evening away. Therefore, would not recommend for this reason. Hotel itself was fine.
