It was welcome that I was checked-in early and a few hours to recouperate for a niece's wedding. The pool/hot tub were perfect and enjoyable, with plenty of towels. I enjoyed all of it.

Been staying at this location for over 5 years, will continue to go back and refer my family and friends visiting the BLA. The rooms were clean, the staff were extraordinary, all three of the pools worked and were warm! Great dining options and easy to commute too and from. Great stay for a great price!

Loved the adult only hours for the pool area, breakfast was pretty good with a decent variety. Bed was comfortable and our room was spacious, clean and no major issues. Only thing I have to suggest is a bell/pager for the front desk!

Beds were comfortable. I bring my own pillow so I can’t give feedback on those. AC/heat worked properly. AC filters were clean. Bathroom had obvious water damage above shower, and there were body hairs in the corner of the floor from a human other than us as soon as we entered the room but it was too late at night to get a different room. We threw towels over them to contain the issue. Breakfast was average hot hotel breakfast, but oddly very little in the way of drinks—small half gallon jugs of juice and milk in a tiny fridge to be shared by 20 people. The Brainerd area is very overpriced, so for value you’re going to be disappointed with most hotels in the Brainerd/Baxter area. This one is no different. Demand exceeds supply and they rake you for that fact. If you can plan ahead and book another option 15 minutes away you will likely find a better value.

The bathroom was about a small as I’ve ever seen and the door opened into the sink/vanity, so anyone standing there would be hit by the person in the bathroom. The sink looked like it had cracks at the bottom and was about 100 years old. The carpeting was very worn and should be replaced. The sheets on the bed were stained, but we were too tired to call in or care. The gal who checked us in was dressed in jeans and a hoodie and looked like she just came from cleaning a room. Maybe she did, but not very professional. The hotel inside looks worn and could use a facelift just about everywhere. This was priced as some newer hotels in the area, but the condition just doesn’t warrant the price. This would be one of the last places I would choose in Brainerd/Baxter area.

The staff @ Baymont were all very helpful and gracious. Unfortunately the pool was being repaired so not available until the day we left. There were not enough staff to check rooms daily, so I had to empty my own trash and pick up new towels, the sheets were never changed in 4 days. They were beginning to paint the walls. There were areas that clearly need up-grading. The vent above the bathtub was very dirty. The refrigerator was pretty small and didn't fit all of my items that needed refrigeration. Since there were 2 of us, I would have liked an ability for both of us to have chairs and a table to eat (we did by food and bring it back to the hotel). But again, the staff graciousness (and willingness to provide me directions to places I needed to go) went above and beyond. As a Seattle native, the BEST PART was it was across the highway from COSTCO! woohoo

I was in town for a family event. This is one of the highest rated hotels in the area which I get, most people go to this area to stay on the lake, so these Highway hotels are slim pickings. I think folks are being too kind. When I checked in, there was a man skulking around the lobby. Did he work there or was he a guest? Hard to say, and I probably wouldn’t have cared much except that the front desk agent said my room number out loud. As a woman traveling alone, this is a top security buster. The room was okay. The bed was great, but it ended there. There was a mirror leaning in the closet that was supposed to be mounted on the wall. An empty cleat where it normally hung. The ironing board was filthy with holes in the liner. There was a hair in both the in room whirlpool tub and the shower. The carpet was inexplicably damp in the entire room. There was a sign at the front desk letting guests know that due to a staffing shortage, rooms wouldn’t be cleaned daily. This is likely the culprit of the misses but misses they were.

There was no coffee maker in the room. The room was visibly dirty. We were put in a first floor room despite booking a suite with a balcony. I asked about the balcony and the front desk staff said, you have a patio. Didn’t want to make a scene so I didn’t keep asking why I didn’t get a balcony. I know it’s because I used Expedia. This happens nearly every hotel booked on Expedia. The hotel changes the room type to give you their “Expedia” rooms, this is known by staff and people that work in hospitality that these rooms exist. They are typically in bad repair and/or have missing items and are downgraded from what you book and paid for.

We like this location. We have stayed here previously & so we anticipated the same experience this year. Room was clean except for tiny insects on all tiled areas especially the tub & toilet area. Room had a hot tub in room which was a surprise to us and tiled around it. We brought it to the attention of the on duty manager and we were assured they were harmless and caused by wet rainy conditions in the local area. Regardless their presence was still annoying. He assured us they would do a deep room clean and change all bedding as we would not return until later in the evening. Room didn’t seem to be touched when we returned at around dusk! Minor comment that chairs in breakfast area seriously need to be re-upholstered.

The service was ok, but room was not comfortable. There was no chair, the only place to sit was on the beds. There was no dresser. We stayed 3 nights and could not put our clothes away and to dig out of the luggage. The floor was vinyl plank and uncomfortable and there was nothing on the walls. I will not stay there again and this a shame as this was our go to hotel for Baxter.

The fitted sheet and mattress pad don’t fit the bed so they kept popping off during the night. There are a lot of mechanical sounds in the walls and a train blew it’s whistle very loudly at 5:00 in the morning.

We spent two nights in a spacious accessible room that included a separate bedroom with two double beds, a living room with a sofa bed, and a kitchenette with some cooking supplies and utensils. The three of us ladies were very appreciative of the accomodations. The staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast options included scrambled eggs, link sausage, a pancake maker, yogurt with various toppings, dry cereal, mini-donuts, English muffins, toast, milk, juice and coffee. The only thing we would recommend is to have another mirror in the bedroom as there is only one and it's located in the bathroom. We would definitely stay there again!

I have now found my new go-to hotel for my trips to Baxter. This was one of the best hotels in the area. I would also like to commend the young man (Eian??) at the front desk. He was engaging and so fun to talk with. Please keep him at the hotel, he is doing good things for you.

Not great. Interacted with 3 different front desk staff and none of them were helpful or good. I won’t drag people through the mud but it was 0 for 3. The room was fair at best. Housekeeping came in to replace the tv remote but did not clean or refresh the room.

I was staying at this hotel because my nephew was racing at the race track there. The staff were so friendly and the hotel was so nice! They were very accommodating and welcoming to me. It was a great experience!! I will definitely book at this hotel when I am back in the area.

We called to see if our room was ready and they confirmed that it was. When we arrived 15 minutes later to check in, our room was not ready for check in. We needed to get ready for a wedding and were hoping to use our room but since it wasn’t available we needed to get changed in our vehicle before the wedding.

Paid too much for a very average room. And why can’t a motel room in northern Minnesota have carpeted floors? Pretty cold on bare feet. Power went out in the middle of the night. Breakfast was dismal - waffle machine broken, no fresh fruit and only sweetened cereal unless we wanted biscuits and gravy. We didn’t - we checked out and ate elsewhere.
