Courtyard by Marriott Rocky Mount

Our advice would be to call the property prior to your stay to make sure all accommodations are in working order. We arrived to not be able to use the pool and the hot tub out of service. Room was fairly cleaned. 1/2 of the staff members were kind and welcoming.

Would have stayed elsewhere had we been notified the indoor pool and spa were closed. Picked specifically for those amenities due to traveling with our young grandson. None of the ice machines worked on any of the three floors. Nice place to stay but not worth the money paid with services not working.

This Marriott is a mess. It needs to have a lot of work done and get updated the night that we stayed there on the second floor and the elevated not working not a very good experience at all.

Elevator broken, ice machine broken. Getting ice was difficult. Swimming pool looked disgusting and not clean Property not well maintained and very disappointing for a Courtyard. We stay at Marriott because of their consistency. Will not return to this facility Front desk cannot provide change. Had to go elsewhere for change for housekeeping staff Room was however clean. A testament to housekeeping for maintaining good hygiene in an otherwise poor experience

Hotel was clean and staff were courteous. However neither the pool nor the restaurant were open which was very disappointing.

Elevator was out of order that day and weekend. Otherwise everything else was good.

Outside of the lobby, this hotel was a complete mess. It was dirty and had a musty smell likely due to moisture problems from the indoor pool. There were wet floor signs everywhere due to the floor being slick at times. The only elevator in the hotel was broken, icemakers were broken, the indoor pool had a sludgy film across the top, pool towels were strewn all inside the pool area and outside the pool area for consecutive days, the jacuzzi was completely filled with rocks and sand and lined with yellow caution tape (like what in the world, weird), few menu items were complete offerings due to being out of inventory, and we had roaches in our room. The only good thing was that the beds were comfortable. I will never ever stay at the Courtyard in Rocky Mount again. Such a shame and few workers there seemed to care. Just walked or sat around looking important (not busy) while everything was a wreck around them.

Hotel is OLD and it shows and way overpriced for the condition of hotel. No hot tub, contrary to thier website. Pool looked stagnate and unappealing- paint chipping etc. room was okay, but no coffee in lobby. Unless you want to pay extra for it. Super disappointed overall and wish I had chosen another hotel- there are several In the same block so choose wisely.

Great amenities between the pool and bistro with coffee and breakfast and dinner, staff was super pleasant throughout the experience!

Pool/ hot tub was not working and we had to get our key cards reprogrammed BOTH nights as they did not work once getting back to the room at night. Bathroom was a little dirty with empty bottle in shower.

The staff at check in and departure were excellent- courteous, friendly and efficient. My reason for a lower rating on cleanliness was the bathroom floor was not sufficiently clean nor were the walls surrounding the sink. The ottoman was badly stained as was the sofa. Clearly these needed to be deep cleaned or replaced. I did not bring this to the attention of the staff for the bedding seemed to be clean and we were leaving very early in the morning.

Large water bug/roach (2”) in room. Did not switch rooms as it was very late and we had been traveling for 10 hours. Got the bug. The room was very nice though. They comped breakfast when we told them about the insect.

The bathroom could have been cleaner. The bathtub/shower had a dirty shower curtain and mold on the soap tray and culking.The wall by the bed had something smeared on it. The staff were friendly and the bed was clean.

The customer service was beyond excellent however I believe the cleanliness could’ve been upgraded. We were there on Friday through Sunday. I don’t believe the hall of the first floor had been mopped or vacuum the entire time until Sunday upon leaving. The room furniture had several stains on it and could’ve been shampooed. The customer service was beyond excellent from the desk attendant, and all the employees that I ran into however, a better routine for common area cleanliness needs to be initiated.

Staff was nice. Property is a little older. The AC in our room worked well but was a little loud. The door to the room had a pretty big crack where it opens, ut the hotel floor was quiet.

My first impression of this property was not a good one due to the lack of customer service I received from the woman checking me in. I liked that my room was clean and spacious. I did not like that the refrigerator only stayed on for 2 hours at a time causing me to worry about whether the food I placed inside of it would spoil.

This hotel is old and needs to be renovated immediately. It’s okay for a 1 night stay but nothing more. The beds are very small.

The bed is little hard for us.

Road noise was bad. Room was clean and has been updated.

The 5 star areas have been indicated,however there is a long Gap from the floor to the doorknob that allowed smoke and other smells to seep into the room,I could see out and anyone wanting to see in would be able to, this caused me to feel unsafe. Perhaps rooms that for families could be utilised for families only,or another lock, could be installed.The popcorn ceiling shows signs of water damage.

Room was clean but out dated. The staff was so professional and pleasant. Thank you Marriott!! You’re the best place to stay that I can depend on.

The rooms were very clean but the bathrooms are very old and need major updating. I love the area. There were so many restaurants close by as well as other hotels. The walls are very thin. I could hear people talking as they walked down the hallway.

The staff was just AWESOME! Some of the best that I have every come across in my travels. From friendly, warming introduction to anything I needed. No questions went unanswered.

My wife and I really never got to stay there that night. Our daughter helped us booked a room at the Marriott for that evening through Hotels.com. I thought we were all set but when we checked in the Marriott receptionist indicated they had no king beds. We indicated that was all right we take a Queen, and she informed us there are no rooms at all. I explained our daughter booked through Hotels.com and it indicated we had a room. She said she was sorry and could not help us. I asked her what we are to do. She said something like --- "Didn't you hear me", not my problem. I said why don't you notify Hotels.com and tell them to stop booking rooms because you are all filled up. She said we don't call them we E-Mail them. I said then email them, so people like us are not thinking they have a room and don't have rooms. The receptionist was almost arrogant and very unfriendly. Our daughter called Hotels.com and explained the issue because we wanted to make s we were not paying for a room that we are not staying in for that night. The Hotels.com phone person was extremely friendly and trying hard to help us. She did call the Marriott herself according to our daughter, and said the receptionist was very unfriendly and hung on her. We ended up driving to the Inn and getting a room there for the night. We like Hotels.com and will continue booking through them. Maybe this Marriott had unfriendly folks. We would think twice booking with them. Thanks for all your help!

It was close to where we needed to be. Lots of dining options in the area. Bed was comfortable and staff ( Hanna ) was amazing.

Driving from N.Y. To N.C. An 8hr drive , Courtyard Rocky Mount is the place to stay and is our half way mark to rest before driving to Florida. Good location. Easy to get to , right off the the expressway. Walking distance to the steak house. Plenty of parking. An indoor pool, nice & polite staff. Check in was easy peasy. A modern hotel, room made well, comfy and quiet atmosphere. The bed is prepared right for me. Firm and hard the way I like it after driving a long time . Descent bathroom and relaxing shower . I had a well rested night, slept for 5.5 hrs onto Florida I go. Tk you for the stay. Check out was simple and easy , til next time!! Peace

The staff are super friendly. The pool and workout room was really nice. The carpet a wee bit too old but they mentioned an upcoming remodel of the hotel. Good location and walkable to Outback Steak House

Traffic very noisy at night made it hard to sleep. All othe other amenities were fine. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast too expensive for 2 bagels and coffee and closed up too early.

The staff was very helpful. We got there late and the restaurant staff made us a quick dinner, which we appreciated.

Staff wasn’t very friendly. There was no coffee available for breakfast. Pool was t filled with water. Room was fairly clean. We just stayed for a night, so it didn’t bother us much, but if we were on vacation there it would have been a less than desirable visit.

Everything was just fine. Nothing was outstanding. The cost of breakfast was ridiculous.

Clean, friendly service. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is not included and to eat at their Bistro prices are way out of line. Oatmeal was 10.50 a bowl. One coffee and one apple juice came to 10.88. We chose to eat elsewhere. I do not mind paying for breakfast but not at those prices.

The room was o.k. but the fridge was tiny. We always pick a hotel with a restaurant but this restaurant was terrible. We sat atvthe bar and the the bartender had no clue how to make drinks. My husband wanted timato soup and he was served marinara sauce and told it was soup. His four cheese sandwitch had one thin slice of cheese. They had no c Caesar dressing for my salad and i never got my entrée The bartender was rude and kept calling me "woman". We had to order a pizza deliverd and didn't eat till 9:00. Never again

Only problem was that the bistro did not have all the menu items available.
