Quality Inn & Suites Tarboro - Kingsboro

Adequate lodging for myself. Wife would not have liked it if she had come. Staff was friendly. Bed was comfortable. Had fridge (very cold temps) and microwave. Bathroom was clean and in good shape. Overall everything was clean. Drawer pull missing from a drawer. Breakfast was all carbs, no protein. Was there 15 minutes after it opened. Trash was full, waffle batter empty. Had breakfast elsewhere. Abandoned car in the parking lot (or one that did not move during my 5 days there. ) Could use some paint in places. Back door was ajar as key card would not work on it. Was ok but would see what other options were available.

It does not represent It's name, the door handle to our room was somewhat broken, however, it did serve It's purpose, bit it needs to be repaired. When we enter into the lobby to check in, it smelled like old cigarettes smoke. The pool did look pleasing at all, not like in the description where the was crystal blue and clean. The sofabed was stained and dirty.

My initial contact with the representative that answered the phone before I arrived to let the hotel know I would be a late arrival, she was awesome . Check in was lack luster but i was provided a few toiletries that Id forgot at home. Elevator had sticky liquid and food on the floor, the room smelled faintly of smoke, the mirror was severely streaked and cloudy, the sheets and "comforter" were super thin, the nightstand handle was also sticky, little specks of dirty on the wall and curtains, my top covered was stained. The rooms need a very deep clean and revamp.

They really didn’t have anything for breakfast except for some yogurt and bread and cereal. The milk with sour. The parking was OK on the side of the building. The cleanliness of the room was questionable. There was hair in the shower and I went to get a shower in the morning and in the sink.

The hotel was ok. The breakfast was good and the lady that attended to the breakfast was awesome. She was so sweet. She was constantly refilling and wiping everything down to make sure everything was clean. However, the motel smelled completely of smoke everywhere you went. The front desk personnel (with the exception of the male at the desk in the evening) were always talking on the phone and not seemingly interested in customer service. The male that manned the desk at night was nice and greeted everyone as they entered. The parking situation is very lacking- especially handicapped spaces. I would hate for a handicapped person to be staying alone. I had to drop my elderly father off at the front and park in the back of the pizza hut next door due to lack of parking.

Outside pool was unusable. Water in pool was black. Cigarette holes in bed sleets. Microwave old rusty inside of microwave. Out date food in venting machine.

Vending machines and ice machines down on both floors. Lobby bathrooms both had out of order signs posted. Window a/c was very loud.

Breakfast was minimal, would have been ok if they had real butter ☹️. Restrooms were out of order in the lobby. Good thing we didn’t have to go after breakfast!! Room was clean and comfortable. Definitely needs a new couch!

just a lot of stuff that needed to be fixed. Owner and folks that worked there were accomadating though.

The hair dryer got hot and was smoking. I had to turn it off. The treadmill did not work. I was told by staff that it needed work. The coffee was average at best.

chosen purely because we needed a place to stay late notice for the ECU graduation weekend, and all the places in Greenville were either way overpriced or already booked. we knew this was a small town, this hotel was better rated than the others in the town, which is not saying a lot. one of the beds had crumbs under the cover, so it obviously hadn't really been cleaned - just remade the bed after the previous occupant, but the 2nd bed had fresh sheets. the remote buttons didn't work - only power and chanel up down, no changing the volume for this room! the AC was super loud, but hey - white noise is a plus right? and it did eventually cool the room down. the shower was clean although the shower head was very low, made for a child. the soap dish with refilled complimentary toiletaries had a cockroach leg and a single hair on it - so that had obviously not been cleaned. whole place smelled of smoke, which makes sense being a nonsmoking room in a smoking property - it permeates everything. we were there for probably 12 hours total and our suitcase smelled of cigarettes when we got home. we did feel safe and the checkin person was nice. I'd say it was akin to staying at your crazy aunt's house for a night - she tried to clean, but cannot expect much right? there is a pizza place that shares the parking lot and a mcdonalds on the other side so you have some food options. i'd say for the bare necessity (a place to sleep for a night) it met that requirement.

Carpets stained pretty badly, dried spot of either ketchup, blood, or possibly chocolate on side of couch. Room smelled of smoke.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, very clean, comfortable beds and bedding. I would most definitely stay there again!

Curtains were dirty, bed lining was dirty we brought our own lining to sleep with thank god we did! Bath tub was dirty. I had to disinfectant everything and clean the tub so we could shower.. staff was nice

We attempted to leave without being charged, we even took pictures and showed the front desk and all she did was move us to a cleaner room. 2nd room was better, still not the cleanest. Breakfast was average at best. Wouldn’t stay at this location again

Very welcoming and polite staff. But the rest was a disappointment. Meager breakfast. No blankets on the beds and had I to go fetch them from the front desk myself because they are short staffed. The halls and room need a serious up lift and they shouldn’t charge that much in Tarboro for a less than quality stay.

Air unit nearly broke, poor customer service

The staff was fine, but the rom was not dark enough. Light would leak from around the door and in the morning, the outside would leak in because the blackout curtain did not fit flush against the window. Other than that, my stay was fine.

Nothing terrible but very dated and not as clean as it could be. There were splatters of toothpaste on the bathroom mirror from previous guests which is telling, etc; but I didn't have high expectations for the property. Just needed a place to stay for one night.

This hotel is one of the worse, if not the worse I'd ever stayed. The hotel needed an upgrade last year. Customer service is nonexistent and you need to beg for your room to be cleaned while the room services personnel just hangs around the front desk laughing and talking about their personal issue . The front desk lady has no idea how to treat customer and doesn't even bother to greet the customer. There's no competition in the area unless you drive to Rocky Mount and perhaps that is the reason the staff don't care about customer service. My tip, if you could go to a diferente town., do it. This facility needs to be closed down and all the staff fired. And the 'breakfast ". Should be eliminated. I couldn't eat anything and have to walk to McDonald's. Breakfast is unedible. Only decent thing was the bed.

I was leaving out quickly but I didn't see any eggs or meat. I only saw a waffle maker, variety of juices, fruits, cereals and breads. Overall I would definitely stay again. Very clean, quiet and next to pizza hut and McDonald's along with other eateries.

Clean but average to poor service. Had to request clean floor mat, coffee not replaced in four days, soap and shampoo not replaced.

Was put in a smoking room. Cigarette burns on the bed, the bed cover was filthy. Front desk would not refund. Left immediately to find a new hotel 30 miles away. Terrible.

Location is convenient for our family visits. Price is good. Basically, we just need a place to sleep. There is a bit of an odor in the hallways and the room. They do actually allow smoking in some of the rooms so it doesn’t stay contained in just those rooms. We now carry Fabreeze fabric and spray the room down when we arrive and leave to visit with family. When we return there is a big difference. But, as I said, we only need a place to sleep so it works for us.

Easy access to the property. Near Ribeye’s steakhouse and a McDonald’s.

Affordable, clean, and very safe location close to everything. The rooms were very clean and the hotel is so cozy and unique. It looks like a big mansion inside with the nice balcony so it gives it a very homey/cozy feel. I am returning to this hotel every single time I’m back in tarboro

People were hanging out in the parking lot talking loud, smoking, and drinking.

Nice clean place. Convenient to family. Many great places to eat nearby. We will stay here again.

We have begun to use this Quality Inn when we come to Oak City to see our grand children. The first stay, just a few weeks ago was great. The breakfast has little to offer but there are many alternatives within walking distance for breakfast. This time, all the above except our room has a distinct order. We didn’t want to take time to switch rooms so we bought Fabreeze and sprayed it down. Problem pretty much solved. We’ll be back though.

In town two nights for a funeral, found the hotel clean, attractive, quiet, and in good repair with helpful desk staff. The bed was very comfortable, and things in the room worked. Breakfast was good and was available for an appropriate length of time. I have paid more and gotten less at a number of places; I certainly would stay here again given the opportunity.
