I had been visiting this facility for 5 years and I found the old charm missing. The wall of the bar was removed, so it made the quiet sitting area very loud. The coffee/tea and water that was available was now not. The indoor pool area was closed for repairs the entire stay. The farm was still amazing, the views and grounds spectacular.

The resort is spectacular as far as style, history, and Mountain Views. The less than spectacular : Unloading bags area is very inconvenient. No help for one, two, no clarification of where to load/unload at check in. Distance from unloading to parking is WAY FAR AWAY (in Narnia). Same for loading up. Other than that, the place was wonderful.

Great location. Many nice amenities including restaurant and bar on site, lots of activities, pool. Hot tub is no longer, not sure why. Spa on site is fantastic. Staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

The amenities were outstanding. It would take too long to list all of them, but some favorites were: farm (where farmers give a tour and allow children to collect eggs and interract with the animals), indoor pool, outdoor pool with bar and snack shop, pickleball court, golf, indoor movie theater, game room, walking traila, playground...we felt like we were staying at a country club. My husband and I had thr best massages of our lives at the spa, and specialty pizza at the tavern was outstanding. Room was very clean and spacious and comfortable. And the view was amazing. We will return!

This place is recently updated, and service and amenities were fantastic. We love the air hockey, ping-pong, billiards and foosball available in the basement floor. The pool was operational, but it was very disappointing that the hot tub was closed down before he arrived. I’ve had a twice surgically, repaired back and was looking forward to it.

The view is absoluly Amazing and the hotel is a real New England atmosphère. Although the hôtel was not full at this time of the year, it was very noisy. Trying to relax in our bedroom was almost impossible, our neighboors were very loud. The spa is not a spa at all. Treatments were excellent, I would have liked to relax in a hot tub.

The staff was well intentioned and did their best... but some of them were uninformed about the status of services (e.g., front desk "Yes, cross country skiing is open today"... pro shop "No, cross country is closed"). The building itself is nice... had a "classic" feel... but that carries into the guest rooms that are a bit dated. You'll pay an extra $40 per day for a "resort fee"... but if you don't have little kids there's not much to do. L1 EV charging outlet didn't work.

We had a fantastic stay. The staff are amazing, we used the pool and gym which only few guests seemed to take advantage of. It was also a pleasure to sit on the patio and look outside. Room above average size.

Overall the staff was friendly however there was a fly in my salad during a banquet. Other people found flies in their drinks during the same banquet. Wait staff was not very attentive throughout the weekend. The property and rooms are beautiful and the housekeeping service was top notch.

The hotel does have a lot of charm and potential. There were numerous areas that needed maintenance and a good sweep. The view from the very large porch is beautiful however there were dirty dishes and towels and food that needed to be cleaned up in a timely manner. Same for the pool area and game room.

We have stayed here multiple times in all seasons but were a bit disappointed this visit. The bathroom floor was not cleaned (dirt from boots there until I cleaned it) and someone’s (not mine) hair was found two days. We had issues with the coffee machine in the room not working and coffee capsules were not replaced. As we are early risers, waiting until breakfast for coffee was a tough start to a day. Coffee in the foyer like other destinations early on would be great. Breakfast was mediocre unfortunately, we went down the road for made to order breakfast. Also don't understand the “meal tax” when we only ate there 2days, charged for three. On the plus side the renovations look great, very modern and crisp. And the room was delightful, bed comfortable. We will be back and hope to see some changes. I

From beginning to end the experience was disappointing/underwhelming. Upon arrival the tone was set with the employees lacking job ethic or customer service skills. Not one employee smiled or said hello. Bringing our luggage in and out was a nightmare as there were not enough luggage carts. We ordered room service which included plastic hamburger casing being cooked into my hamburger. While enjoying the indoor pool I cut my foot on a shard of glass. I immediately notified the male employee at the reception desk who just said “ok”. The room was quite small as well. Overall I would not return to this establishment nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

Major issue was that the coffee and waters were not replenished after i arrived. No replenishment on friday or saturday. Dinner menu options very limited and , no salad, and sword fish tasteless. Free Coffee available all day in lobby would be a plus, clearibg if snow coukd have been much better on back entrance and front entrance as well.

The place is pretty plain as a hotel. If you're into nostalgia you may enjoy it, but truth be told, the juice isn't worth the squeeze, at least not for me. For $350/night, I would expect some kind of special experience. There was none to be had.

Our initial room was overlooking the parking lot. I wanted to upgrade to a Mountain View room (facing the mountains instead of the parking lot), so they charged us more per night…no problem, I can accept that. The new room was on the complete other end of the resort. Had to carry all of our bags. Then that room had no hot water. We obviously had no choice but to complain. They said ok we’ll give you a new room. It was across the hall from our original room. 3 rooms later everything is great, but this is the hospitality business and was hoping for a little more help and not feel like I am a problem customer.

Given the age of the hotel. It is noisy at night. You can hear the slightest footsteps and getting any sleep I had to wear noise canceling headphones just to fall asleep even with my son’s white noise machine playing. The food options for dinner are limited and there are no other sit down dining areas for families. There needs to be a better quick service area besides the bar and the store. The service people were nice but getting food took forever even for simple meal items. The plates are not filling for the price as well. I don’t know if we will be back. We went last year and had the same complaints but thought it was a fluke. For the price of the stay I feel the value just isn’t there unless you plan on golfing.

Friendly staff, clean and charming historic hotel. My only criticism is it’s very dark in the lobby and it was difficult for those of us with vision disabilities. I also wish there was better brighter lighting in our room, especially at the coffee maker area, where everything is black on black.

The bathroom was terrible. We had what was probably the last room to be rented and a view of the roof and the bathroom lighting was so dim. You could hardly see anything all in all our room is probably a two star rating.

The property is beautiful and the location is gorgeous. The hotel is newly renovated and stylish. The staff at the reception, bar and servers were great. I gave 3 stars to the overall service because the restaurant hostess the evening of August 18 was extremely unprofessional. It almost ruined my weekend. We came to have dinner at 8:25 pm and she told us she could not sit us because we didn’t make a reservation and they stopped serving food at 9 pm. The restaurant was fairly open. There were 10 tables available so I asked if they could accommodate us at one of them. She said they were all reserved. I double checked asking if she was expecting at these families to come in 35 minutes. She said rudely yes. I went to the receptionist and asked is if she could intervene. She made it possible to get a table and when the hostess sat us down, visibly annoyed she told us “let’s see if I can find you a waiter.” A waiter came and he was great. We ate passed 9 pm and needless to say there was only one family that came and at least 5 tables were still open. The waiter confessed he had to be there at least until 10 pm or whenever guests leave. The hostess lied straight to my face. She seemed she didn’t want to sit us, just plain and simple. She was young and inexperienced but the attitude she gave us had no excuse. The rest of staff were very nice. I’d recommend the hotel and for dinner make sure you make reservations. Thanks!

Terrible experience. Not only has the place seen better days, but they were understaffed and very unfriendly. My husband is handicapped and despite our request, we were placed in a room far from the elevator. No one was available to help with luggage. The nearest entry near the handicapped parking has steps. We went around half of the building (which is quite large) before an employee who was leaving stopped to help us and pointed us to small back elevator that could only take one person at a time. The bartenders and wait staff at the restaurant were completely overwhelmed and service was chaotic. I would pass on this one.

This was a perfect getaway for us. 20 min. away from Bretton Woods for skiing. The staff went above and beyond. Service in both the hotel and dining room was exceptional! I highly recommend this resort for both couples, groups, and families.

The hotel and activities are lovely. There is plenty to fill your time throughout the day. Unfortunately, the biggest downside to this hotel is the food service. Most meals in the Harvest Tavern had extended waits and overpriced for what you got. It seems like it was significantly understaffed and disorganized. Our soup came out and then we had to wait 10 minutes for a spoon. I would definitely return to this hotel, but would try to plan for alternative food options.

The toilet in our room (with a spectacular view!) was so small, we practically had to kneel down to get on it. I'm only 5'8, but the toilet came up to BELOW my knees. I don't understand it. Same as the toilet in the spa, No idea how large or tall people use it. Also, food was below par. My dining room chicken was so dry, I left half on my plate. My wife's lamb was really dry too. Chef needs to learn about brining the chicken, at least. But other than that, the facility is a great "grand hotel of the White Mountains." Fabulous view, and they keep it up nicely! Wish I could have visited during its heyday in the late 19th and early 20th century

My wife and I had a very good one night stay at the Mountain View Grand Hotel. The room was charming and had great vews of the mountains, and it was especially nice to see the wonderful foliage this time of the year. The hotel staff were polite and courteous. Also, the working farm on the property was fun to vist as it had animals we could watch and learn about.

We stayed here over July 4th when our original plans changed. We spend a lot of time in the Lancaster area & always wanted to stay here. Room was nice. We only had a partial mountain view, mostly just trees, but we hadn't requested a view. The hotel is kept in good condition given it's an older building. Our room was very comfortable & bathroom was nice, clean, & spacious. We planned to eat at the hotel one night but after reading many reviews about the quality we decided against it. While the person who checked us in (Linda) was extremely pleasant and efficient, that wasn't what we witnessed with all checkin staff. One told a mom & child when they asked about refilling the water container in the lobby to go to get water from the ice machine upstairs as bar was too busy to fill. We were told the outdoor pool opened at 8am on Sunday only to find out it opened at 9am that morning. There is only a small store that mostly sells hotel merchandise with only a handful of very overpriced candy bars, chips, & a very limited selection of bottled drinks (coke, sprite, ginger ale, bottled water.) There are no vending machines. Most stores & restaurants in the area close by 9p. There were a TON of large families with young kids when we arrived, running all over hotel, lobby, & porches. Very loud in their rooms & hallway, even past 10pm. Not what I expect at a grand hotel. Overall I would give 3.5 stars.

Beautiful property, great for family and kids. My son loved the indoor pool and the farm tour. The staff were super friendly and helpful. It was about half hour from the Ice Castles and also half hour to Bretton Woods ski resort, so pretty convenient to explore the area. We also really enjoyed the Littleton main st area 20 mins away.

I loved the room, the facilities and the staff. The reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is because of restaurants. The only sit-in restaurant is a disappointment with hardly any vegeterian dinner options. The pizza for lunch is good though.

Would not recommend the hotel for an overnight stay but would be good for a minimum 2 night stay. Had to pay a resort fee even though there was no time to enjoy the amenities of the hotel. Dining was ok but a very limited menu. Breakfast was buffet only and since there are no other dining facilities in the area you are out of luck if all you want is a light breakfast. The buffet was very good and there was a good selection.

Very clean impressive property! Beautiful gardens and golf course! The pool area was very entertaining with music and a bar. The restaurant selection is limited. That to me is the only downfall. We only had one choice of a place (The Tavern) to eat in the prices were very expensive and the menu was more gourmet and less casual. We went offsite to eat a few meals. Also, a bit disappointed that the lovely doesn’t provide coffee in the morning for their guests. $4 a cup in the provisions shop.

The property was beautiful and well maintained. However, the food service staff needs to be trained on food allergies and safety. The first night, we ate in the dining room. My husband told the server that he has a severe gluten allergy and ordered the salmon with a beet salad. We told the server to make sure there were no croutons. It arrived with croutons. We sent it back asking for a fresh one. They must have just removed the croutons, causing cross contamination because he ended up getting sick. The next night, we ordered room service. I once again told about the food allergy and asked a question about how it was prepared. The person couldn’t answer it. Most people who work in the food industry should be well trained to handle food allergies. Very upsetting.
