Quality Inn Dayton North - Vandalia

I'm extremely disappointed in my 2 day stay! I picked this hotel specifically for the hot tub, so I was pretty irritated when I saw that it roped off with yellow tape, full of leaves, dirt, and a puddle of old water. It has definitely been out of order for quite some time and should not be listed as a feature of this hotel. The pool was ice cold. The side door to enter the hotel did not lock. The door to my room didn't close properly, so you had to yank it shut. Our room was not clean. There was a fake nail on the floor beside the bed. The bed linens were stained with what looked like blood. The A.C did not keep the room cold. Ceiling in the bathroom and bedroom had dark water spots and was peeling. When I came down for breakfast at 9am on Saturday, the red headed, male, front desk clerk, rudely told me that breakfast was closed, even though I was told at check in, and there was a sign, that said weekend breakfast was 7am-10am. I told him that, and then he gave me and another guest permission to eat. It is a no smoking hotel, so we had to sit outside, which felt very unsafe. Several people were walking in circles around the parking lot and lurking behind the dumpster near where we parked our vehicle and where the door to enter the hotel was. As I stated before, the door did not lock, and we could hear people coming in and out all night long. Very sketchy! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

First of all, we were told the pool was closed,even though the pool look fine, pumps running, only the seperate jacuzzi was roped off and empty. The washer & dryer worked, but another guest had left their clothes in the dryer & never came to get them. We had to take our wet clothes to a laundry mat 4 miles away. The clothes were still in the dryer when we got back! Also the iron in our room did not work and had to go to the desk to ask for another one. They brought another which did get hot, but leaked water all over the clothes.The breakfast was very limited, and the waffle mix was empty. The coffee was just luke warm. I'm sorry to say that this was probably the worst Quality Inn we have ever stayed in.

The staff were lovely and the facility was clean. The pool and hot tub were not working which was a let down.

The card locks were broken to the rooms so had to be let in by front desk

We had some issues at check in with them putting us in a regular room instead of a suite that we had reserved. Then we had issues with our key card working at the room they moved us to and ended up moving to another room again. They were friendly about it and not their fault with the issue with the key card. We were disappointed in the pool not being usable and it was not mentioned on the website. The pool was the main reason we stayed here. We were in town visiting our son and family. Our granddaughter was looking forward to swimming with grandpa and grandma. Overall the stay was decent. Only had the breakfast one day during the stay. It was an average hotel breakfast.

Just okay, hair dryer didnt work, called front desk they didn't have a replacement. Had to go in someone elses room to use one. It was the maids room, she was speaking spanish. Pool was freezing, Hot tub controller was broken, back door of building had broken key controller was broken so anyone could walk in, not safe.Will not recommend

The pool was closed. When I asked about it at 4:00, the staff kept saying they were opening the pool in a few minutes, but that was not the case. They did open the pool after we left to eat dinner, but we didn't get to enjoy it, as it was 9:30 before we got back and the pool closes at 10. The next day, we checked numerous times throughout the day, but the pool was still closed and the staff said that they were going to open it shortly, but we stopped asking after the 2nd trip because they obviously weren't concerned about opening it. The mattress was too firm, so we had 2 nights with very little sleep and no pool/hot tub access. Will not stay here again.

We had booked the Hotel for its Hot tub and pool. When checking in she asked me a million questions about my service dog and tried to charge me for him, even though I made it very clear he was trained. The pool closes at 10pm and doesnt open until 3pm. When I asked if I could use the hot tub for 15 mins because it was 10:01 when we checked in she told us the hot tub had been out of order for months, we said okay no big deal we would just take a bath. The bathtub drains in 5 minutes of being filled. when you stepped in to take a shower it felt like it was going to drop you through the tub, there was also holes in the shower curtain. Their dryer is out of order so we couldnt clean our clothes. The blanket on one of the beds was ripped. They were out of juice and laundry bags, the breakfast selection was barely a selection. I would have stayed at a different hotel if I would have known all of this.

Hot tub closed and heated pool was freezing cold

This place is disgusting and smells something horrible. Unfortunately i booked before we got to see the place. Second mistake was not checking the bedding. One of the guys woke up to a bed bug on his face. We stripped the bedding in all 4 rooms. We found bloodstains on all the sheets,dry boogers and dead bedbugs on them them. This place needs to be shut down.

Our room was absolutely nasty! Hairs all over bathroom floor, toilet, and shower. Beyond hot, smelt of urine. Mirrors not clean, sink not cleaned. Toilet nasty. My parents room was the same but I found toilet tissue on the floor by bed with poop on it!!!! Beyond horrible!!!!

1st I was given an occupied room. 2nd room had a giant wet area on the floor and all the bedding was dirty. Given another room, all the bedding was seriously dirty (reddish/brown stains on comforters and sheets). We immediately checked out at this point. The parking lot had several cars with people just hanging out in the parking lot. The place didn’t seem safe. The clerk was wonderful with trying to accommodate us with a suitable room, she refunded the deposit no issues and gave us contact information to contact the general manager. Of course there has been no response from the manager at all. Would not recommend this location.

Very dirty and smelled horrible

I came so tired I fell asleep immediately; when I woke, it was the most disgusting and terrible experience in a hotel here in America. Someone, please introduce Clorox to those people. Besides the sheets and pillows, all dirty as a junkyard. under the bed a old and hard vomit, yes that's right, some one pilk a long time ago and then havent cleaned yet. We cant see clear on the pictures how despicable was there. Expedia should call the sanitation department because there are molds. Molds produce allergens (substances that can cause allergic reactions) and irritants. Inhaling or touching mold or mold spores may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Allergic responses include hay fever-type symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, red eyes, and skin rash. I snizee for over a week, got a runny nose, red eyes, so bad. Molds are usually not a problem indoors, but in this hotel, the smells make you nauseous. Mold spores land on a wet or damp spot and begin growing, and they have the potential to cause health problems. Also, they manipulate the reviews; all that is saying is good isn't true.

The bathroom was dirty. The front staff were nice to accommodate another room to which was dirty as well. Final draw moved to another room, and it was fine, I was too tired and settled.

First off our room had a very musty smell. The tub was filthy, mold in the window and spider webs. When we said something to the person at the desk she just replied that she only works weekends. Didnt try to fix it or anything. Another thing was the hot tub was not working and had caution tape and cones around it. You would think that you would put something in your information that its not working. Some poeple look for those luxuries when they book a hotel. We got a great price for a last minute book but we also lacked the clean hotel.

None of the advertised amenities were open/working. The pool/hot tub/laundry etc was all closed. The room is filthy, the bedding was stained with blood. Dirty washcloths having on the shower curtain, dirty coffee filter in the coffee maker. Contential breakfast had very little food. The pictures & description of hotel & rooms was inaccurate. I would never recommend staying here to anyone.

The room was infested with bugs and had black mold in the bathroom.

Room had a random towel tucked in the shower curtain, chips and scrapes everywhere and ac didn’t work. Reported ac not working to front desk before bed and wasn’t offered anything. Room was extremely hot in the middle of the night.

The facility is showing its age, the heat/ac unit didn’t look like it’s been cleaned in years, the heat for the room was supplied by a table top heater ( think Walmart special) The floor next to the tub moved and the shower rod was loose, the lever for the water in the shower is in desperate need of repair. If I had to guess, I’d say that the staff is trying the best they can, but owners need to step up their efforts

Conveniently located among restaurants and thoroughfares in North Dayton. Property is outdated and one of the least impressive in the strip of hotels nearby. Rooms were surprisingly clean, but showing signs of age (cracking paint, a/c doesn’t blow cold air, thin windows, etc). The hallways and lobby are in similar shape. Shower water pressure was extremely low, had to move rooms due to air conditioning while working in the first one, towels are extremely thin, hotel smelled like marijuana. Won’t be staying here again.

The hotel was on at best. My wife and I went on a long vacation from Arizona back east and stayed in 9 hotels all at $100 or less. We did not expect any of the hotels to be giving room service or look new and modern, but of the nine this was the second worse. The building definitely needs some TLC and upgrading, even for a budget motel it not in very good shape. The staff were friendly and helpful enough, and the breakfast was adequate with the same stuff that everyone else serves. But it was not clean even by budget hotel standards and desperately needs Maintenance and remodeling.

Service: Great. All staff who were on site when I checked in and out were excellent (did not catch names). The biggest issue was how warm it was in my room. After getting a King Size room, it was incredibly hot throughout the night despite having the air at the lowest setting.

The AC did not work in the room initially assigned to us and half the light was out in the bathroom. They quickly moved us to another room. Only issue there was the outlets on the LH side of bed (nightstand) did not work. Otherwise the overnight stay was fine and bed was clean & comfortable.

The room was very warm, and could not bring down the temperature. Other than that, a good stay.

In our first room the air conditioner hardly blew air out at all. We left the room for hours and came back to a hot room. We asked for a new room with a working AC, in the second room the light switches didn’t work- the AC didn’t even turn on. The THIRD room we were given at 10pm smelled so bad I can not even explain it. Again the light switches didn’t work. Left and asked for our money back. Maybe they should install all of the boxes of air conditioners scattered throughout the staircases.

Check in was painstakingly long and customer service was terrible. The staff working the front desk acted like we were an inconvenience to them and barely said 2 words to us. Once we got to our room, we discovered the toilet wouldn’t flush. There was also a used bar of soap in the shower. When we went back down to alert them of the toilet, they called maintenance and my husband had to talk to them over the phone because the employee said his English wasn’t good. Turns out the water was shut off to our toilet and my husband was instructed on how to turn it back on. We then discovered the pipe leaked every time the toilet was flushed but at that point it was late and we just wanted to go to sleep. I let the front desk person (who turned out to also be the maintenance guy) know about the leak. I would have rather drove straight through the night than have stayed in this hotel.

Excellent value - friendly and helpful staff.

The check-in process needs some improvement. The hotel tried to tell me i booked 6 rooms and I showed them the confirmation details which only showed 3 rooms and at first they blamed expedia nut eventually changed it on their end to 3 rooms. The pool was out of service and the bathroom in my room had some cracked floor tiles. Otherwise the hotel was okay

The staff was excellent!

If it's not a have to situation, stay away from this place. They put is in a dirty room, double charged me, kept pool closed (because it needed chlorine). Had employees family members/friends hanging in the lobby. Very disappointing

A few minor things caught my attention, chipped floor tiles in bathroom and missing grout, continental breakfast was ok but could be better. Big isdue was check-in they tried to blame the room booking discrepancy on expedia abd wanted to bill me for 6 rooms when the booking details showed 3 but eventually fixed the error in their system. Otherwise my group found the hotel to meet our needs.

We have never stayed in a worse motel and we have travelled much of the world ! The lobby and breakfast tables were still dirty from the morning breakfast as we checked in at 4:00 pm . We were wondering if it was a good idea but I had prepaid and we had stayed here 4 years ago and it was OK . We got our room which was run down a bit but seemed clean enough , unpacked a bit , turned the heat up and went next door for dinner . When we returned the room was ice cold and after fiddling with the heater I reported it wasn’t working . After waiting a while for the promised maintenance man I went back to the desk and suggested we get another room . We were given another room which the toilet was blocked up . I want to the desk and they scrabbled and found me a toilet plunger . The stay was just getting better and better . My wife noticed the sheets on her bed look like someone had stepped on them as they seemed soiled . I pulled back my bedspread to find a large blood stain . Who on earth makes a bed and doesn’t see that !! Back to the desk I go and bring the desk clerk to the room to see first hand . He is apologizing but doesn’t seem shocked to me . At that point I ask for a refund and am going to stay somewhere else . Apparently it wasn’t possible because the manager isn’t in till sometime in the next day. I am reluctant to leave without a refund and relying on a phone call to get my money back so instead he shows us a series of rooms until finally we see one tgat works.

This was the worst hotel experience of my life. The place is dirty & outdated. They advertise a spa & pool. Spa broken, pool supposedly opened at 3pm. Our door lock didnt work. Tv was broken. When we tried to get staff to open the pool, we were told itbonly opened after 3, since that is check in time. However, we were already checked in & on 2nd day of a reservation. No credit or wven explanation for why we couldn't use amenities that were already paid for. Staff was extremely rude & unprofessional. She yled at me for asking basic questions about the issues of our stay. Was told the manager would review our refund request sometime during the week. Would not provide name or contact info for manager or owner. Do not waste your money. I should have known when all their plants were dead. I've never complained or left a hotel mid stay. Do NOT stay here, the low price indicates the lowest quality available. This place is a hell hole!

Paid for my room through hotels.com. when i checked in they ran my card like lost.places do for incidentals - actually charged me for rhe room again. Sent a mesage to the motel rhrough this site a week ago and have had no response from themotel.

Upon pulling into the hotel lot there was many people loitering about and smoking. Hotel from the outside seems sketchy. The lobby was not clean and the rooms are dirty and disgusting. And the smell is awful. Fortunately for me I’m only staying one night. I would want to have an extended stay at this hotel.

The pool doesn't open till 3:00...not too convienent when traveling with a child. Bathroom was disgusting! couldn't even shower due to drain backed up. Noise and doors slamming ALL night! 7 cops there in the middle of the night!! i watched one person get taken away by police!! I cancelled my next 2 nights there, and as of right now,,,that so-called Manager of the place has a total of $585.55 taken from my bank account for 1 (unsafe and miserable) night!!!! She would not come back to the motel to try to help me with this, nor has she yet to return my phone calls!!! My bank account ended up overdrawn, and I had to borrow money to even get back home-with a 7 year old child!!! They don't care!!!!! Let's not forget to mention the smell of marijuana in the hall all night! DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!!!

Ended up not being open the entire time and the new lady at the front desk told us that we never should have been told the pool would be open, it’s closed for an unknown amount of time. Such a disappointment. On top of this, our room had ants everywhere… in the bathroom, of all places!! We were treated like we were going to steal the extra blankets and towels we requested. Breakfast was horrible. The waffle mix was so thick you couldn’t get it out of the container. Thankfully there is a Cracker Barrel next door with a delightful server, otherwise, we would’ve been hungry!

It was my first time staying at a Quality. It was not necessarily "quiet,' until 10PM, but that was because there were a lot of families there. If parents are staying there with their young kids, I am willing to say it's reputable place. The hot tub was closed, but the pool was a relaxing chill after a day of driving. In addition, if you're hungry, there are a lot of chain restaurants nearby -- including a Cracker Barrel next door.

Overall, it was fine, but one of the only reasons I chose here was bc of the hot tub which wasn't even working and it did NOT list that anywhere or I probably would have went somewhere cheaper honestly. Also, the indoor pool was very small and was NOT heated so it almost felt like an ice bath. Also, we did NOT have a working remote at all...but the staff was AWESOME and tried several different ones with different batteries. And finally, the only hot option available for breakfast was waffles and they only had regular syrup to top it with. I have been to other quality inns and they always have other topping options AND have hot eggs and a breakfast meat!

It was nice but people were smoking in their rooms! I had children with me! I didn’t appreciate this at all. Told the day desk clerk but nothing was done. Not much of a breakfast. Need more for kids. Like fruitloops And choc milk flavored creamer would be nice too

Our first room was Not clean but after they gave us a new room it was fine. I also didn't like that the only option for non bread items for breakfast was yogurt. We have just recently stayed at 5 other Quality Inns across the USA & they all had hard boiled eggs at minimum & packaged oatmeal. Several even had scrambled eggs & sausage too. However there is a Cracker Barrel next door so we ate breakfast there.

Checked in and was told the pool wasn't open. My daughter and 2 granddaughters were very disappointed. We had chose to stay here because of the indoor pool. All we got was an Im so sorry. When we got into our room the toilet was having trouble flushing. I went back to the desk and got aplunger to fix it. The bathroom counter and mirror didn't look very clean. The buffet breakfast wasn't very good. The waffle iron over cooked the waffles. Only had OJ and skim milk to choose for drinks

Frontdesk could not find my reservation. I spent 45 minutes on phone with Hotels.com to get them to convince hotel I had a reservation. Second, the hot tub was not working. Third, I made a wake up call request which was not done - they had no explanation. Fourth, the breakfast was awful. They had no milk and no juice. There was no apology for any of these issues.
