Best Western Hazlet Inn

The lady at the front desk was super friendly! The whole hotel had a very strong cleaner smell that was slightly suffocating. The elevator was unsettling due to a lot of aggressive movements when you used it. The breakfast area was very small and cramped. The room was nice, and the bed was comfortable. It was great for just one night. I dont think i would choose this place for an extended stay.

It was really clean. I just didn’t like the fact it wasn’t a microwave.

Needs microwaves in the rooms and a pool.

We stayed at the Best Western Hazlet Inn for a local event. The staff was very friendly, check in was a breeze. The beds are comfortable, the room is clean and the hotel smells nice. Parking is great, but dimly lit at night. The door key cards were touchy it takes a few times to get into the room. I would stay again.

It was nice, good parking & felt secure parking.

Pleasant but dated with minimal amenities (no ice machine on all floors, desk lacked corkscrews, office tools, etc)

There was an empty vodka bottle in the rickety elevator. Key card wasn't working. Had to go back down to front desk in aforementioned elevator. When we finally got into the room we discovered dried pee on the toilet seat. We won't be back.

Wish there were microwaves other then that it's nice

Nice place over all, nice hot breakfast is a plus, could use guest laundry and in the rooms could use a microwave for those that are there for a week or longer, does have a microwave in the breakfast area that is available for use at anytime but who wants to go to a public area to heat up food, not me. All in all, it was a nice place

Breakfast was safe. Room very clean, Parking was safe. Staff very responsive

I was very pleased with the cleanliness and overall comfort of the room and the hotel itself. Definitely recommend and would stay again

It’s super convenient and the staff was nice and accommodating, but we did find 5 bugs in our room, alive and dead. It was surprising because overall the room seemed clean. For the price, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Dirty

There was hair in the bathtub. Yuck. Overall, the place could use a face-lift - especially for the steep price. Obviously its super close to PNC - which is nice.

The smell of the lobby is terrible. It smells like old lady perfume. Everything else was fine room is a little outdated but clean enough. Breakfast was very good. Overall it was a fine stay. Just wish the smell wasn’t so terrible. I wouldn’t come back just because of the smell.

Rooms are dated. The bed and shower appeared clean, but the room had a mildew smell and could use a fresh coat of paint. The shampoo, soap and conditioner is adequate for only 1 person. Breakfast was mediocre.

I ended up staying here because the hotel that I was booked at called me and said they were having a plumbing issue and that they couldn’t honor my reservation. Let me tell you… This is a utilitarian hotel. The staff is pleasant, but not overly courteous, the rooms are old and smell of cigarette smoke even if it’s a non-smoking room, the air conditioning has a weird smell, and you can hear the traffic outside regardless of what side of the hotel you were on. It’s not a place I would seek out to stay at again.

The room was very small

The room size was small but clean. It was quiet. I liked the free breakfast but it was a small area. Service was good, but not particularly friendly. It was a good place for our overnight stay.

The hvac unit in the room was loud

$600+ for 2 nights in a “suite” that was supposed to include a king bed and a pullout sofa bed. The sofa bed was so bad you could feel every single coil it left my 12 year old with back and hip pain. The king bed felt like a sheet of plywood. The room itself was dingy and sticky, like I simply touched the top part of the refrigerator door and then my hand needed to be washed from the stickiness. The blankets they provide are paper thin and worthless. The door to the stairwell bangs all night long and often causes the door to the hotel room to loudly vibrate. The breakfast looked C+ at best. We got swarmed by flying insects in the parking lot upon our arrival to this place. All you hear all night long is trains, motorcycles, sirens, and doors banging. The window sill is stained from what I HOPE was coffee but your guess is as good as mine. Everything is old. The furniture is uncomfortable the little computer chair has no cushion, there are stains on the seat and the janky curtains don’t even close all the way. The mini fridge doesn’t even get that cold, it’s basically a cooler. I guess the staff was adequately professional, wouldn’t call them warm and hospitable but they weren’t outrageously rude either. Bottom line, this place felt like a dump. This is a $90 hotel at best. Stay somewhere else. Seriously.

Room was ok but it was right next to the elevator and that kept us up most of the night. The staff was pleasant.

Overall it was a good experience. However, I expect pillows to be king sized when i'm in a king sized bed. these were smaller than standard. The bed was a bit hard for my liking and i thought it was strange that the light switch for the bathroom wasn't inside the bathroom, but it was OUTSIDE the bathroom door ON THE SIDE THAT IS HINGED! Typically it should be located on the other side of the door OR INSIDE the bathroom. We kept opening the door first, then realizing the switch wasn't inside the bathroom, nor on the right side of the door- then had to close the door to get to the switch. I just thought it was an odd set up and found it slightly annoying.

This hotel needs a serious update. The pillows are small, beds are hard as a rock. The staff & breakfast are the only good thing about this place.

Hotel well kept inside and out. Mattress was a little too firm, ac unit worked great. Fridge worked but didn't keep things cool enough wish there was an adjuster to turn down a little bit. I was worried about my mom's insulin not keeping cool enough.

The property was clean. The staff was friendly. The proximity was close to everything i needed to do. It's nice that there is a Starbucks right off of the parking lot. Downside was that the tv kept freezing up and the internet was a bit unstable at times.

Front desk staff was accommodating of room requests. Check in was fast.

Every door is slammed every couple minutes, they talk extremely loud in the hallways and have now knocked on my door 3x when I was given permission for a late check out. Please do better I came here to relax and sleep which housekeeping made that impossible. Breakfast also disappointed the hot food was cold sadly

Great customer service

Friendly staff- very helpful and accommodating. The hotel is centrally located to shopping, easy access to roads, etc.

No maintenance on staff during overnight hours. Had explosive toilet in the middle of the night. I asked for a new room. Was told completely booked. Front desk offered a plunger and towels. I declined. I checked out and received an immediate refund. Found a nearby hotel to stay.

We stayed here because it’s close to PNC Art Center, 10 minute drive. The staff was super helpful in finding a ride for us that brought us right up to the gate! We met some great people who were staying there and also going to the concert. We had a great time! Also, went to lunch at a great spot in Keansburg, only a ten minute drive. Close to a lot!

I would like to thank the front desk lady that works in 7am to 3pm . I am sorry I forgot your name she is sweet.

Clean, good breakfast and very accommodating when my fishing charter was canceled due to weather. No hassle, they let me cancel my last night, as we couldn't fish and figured we go home, and refunded 100% of the last nights reservation. I'm going there again when i book another charter

The staff is always friendly & helpful during our visits. We very comfortable staying at the Best Western in Hazlet NJ!

There was a huge bug in my room. When I told the front desk they said sorry but were not phased. Not good customer service.

Great location from PNC Arts Center with a number of food establishments in the surrounding area.

Close to the beach and clean property

We stayed here because it’s close to PNC Art Center, 10 minute drive. The staff was super helpful in finding a ride for us that brought us right up to the gate! We met some great people who were staying there and also going to the concert. We had a great time! Also, went to lunch at a great spot in Keansburg, only a ten minute drive. Close to a lot!

The best word I can think of is comfortable. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. Location is excellent and near Middletown’s many attractions. Close proximity to the Hazlet station and train into NYC.

We ALWAYS stay at the Best Western Hazlet Inn when we go to NJ. It is comfortable, clean and centrally located for our family trip.

Clean and great location! Breakfast could be handled better that is probably the weakest part. We'll be back as it's surely not a deal breaker.

Stayed for two nights. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was clean, breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, juice, coffee, bagels, waffles. Breakfast area was kept very clean which is unusual for a hotel in the middle of breakfast. The hotel is right on highway 35 but rooms were quiet with no road noise, and plenty of parking for the hotel. I will absolutely stay again. I only planned to stay one night but was so comfortable that I stayed for an additional night.

It is amazing how quiet the rooms are compared to other hotels. The breakfast is great. They even have sausage, egg, and home fries, as well as all the usual.
