Older hotel but our room was clean with an updated kitchen area. Bed was fine. Could use better sheets. Was good for a quick one night sleep to have a weekend at the beach

There was a plumbing issue in the shower. I would start the shower and the ceiling in the shower would leak. That water was cold and a bit anoying when taking a hot shower. The tile was cracked and the property, inside and out, was poorly maintained. The room was fairly clean. The front desk clerk was nice. All and all, and less than average hotel stay.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing, primarily because of the poor customer service from the evening front desk attendant. I understand hotel staff probably answer the same questions repeatedly, but welcoming guests and helping them navigate the property is part of the job. From check-in, I felt like asking for assistance was an inconvenience. I asked where the laundry facilities were and was simply told, “It’s on the map I gave you.” Later, when I still couldn’t find them, I asked again and was rudely told, “It’s on the other side.” I eventually found the laundry room, only to discover I needed to return to the desk to purchase detergent. Again, the attendant seemed annoyed that I needed help. Our room also had issues. It was full of flies, likely because the outdoor trash can directly outside our door was filthy. The door itself was extremely difficult to open because it kept catching on itself. Rather than ask the front desk for help, I chose to deal with it because I didn’t want another unpleasant interaction. The room issues were frustrating, but the customer service was the most disappointing part. Guests should not feel like they are bothering staff by asking basic questions. A little patience, friendliness, and willingness to help would have made a huge difference.
