Days Inn by Wyndham Canastota Verona

We stayed here for a family reunion in town. I do know that the upstairs doesn't have carpet. It has linoleum type flooring And that's easy to wipe down with kids. We stayed for three nights NEVER had an issue and we will continue to stay at this hotel for future family events. It's in a small town so obviously it's not going to be as updated as others but I would say that I felt comfortable the whole time staying there and will do it again. The only thing that they could change without having to update anything is to make sure that the doors to the inside of the hotel stay locked and use key card at least after 10pm. Other then that the front desk staff is wonderful!

Bed frame is tooooo tall. Can’t comfortably sit on it; chair very aged and peeling; sink would not drain full of hair , had to change rooms, hall carpet very dirty and aged; no elevator, no automatic entry door, poor breakfast

Parking lot was covered in VERY thick ice ! No salt or sand put down at all!

The parking lot needs resurfaced but wasn’t horrible. The facility (lobby and rooms) has been updated and is simple. Everything was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Their computers were down when we arrived which meant they couldn’t check us in. So we went out to dinner. When we got back everything was up. Check in was easy and quick. Continental breakfast was available but we went next door to Dunkin.

The place reeked of smoke although there were no smoking signs throughout the property. Some of the entrances didn't work so had to circle the building to gain entry if you were at the end. The middle entry had a lock but it was never locked, so anyone could walk in - felt unsafe

Very very clean. No elevator! As seniors, the stairs were a problem. They were able to find a 1st floor room after a few days ( we were booked for a week). No frills but functional if you just need a place to sleep. Friendly staff. Right off the Thruway.

Excellent stay. Clean room, very close to the Boxing Hall of Fame. the only issue I had was the side door from the parking lot didn't seem to be locked. Otherwise, exactly the kind of hotel I was looking for when I booked a budget hotel - clean, convenient and easy to check in and out

No elevator. Did not know when booked. Husband has mobility issues and they had no 1st floor rooms so he had to do stairs. Dirty and dated. ‘Breakfast’ consisted of pre packed items.

First room they put us in had a window open (it was cold). We shut it but it wouldn’t lock. They moved us to a room where the toilet didn’t flush properly. Nothing to pit a suitcase on in the room. Good thing we brought soap because the dispenser was empty. Exterior doors were not locked (so no need for key cards there). Hall carpet was filthy. Floor in room was not cleaned properly. Mattress was stained. Breakfast was a granola bar or instant oatmeal. Forget this place.

Beddings were stained, bathroom toilet was dirty. We were near the front desk, so it was noisy. Door to room didn’t seal correctly and let in a lot of noise and looked like it had been jimmed a couple of times. Staff were very polite .

I was here for a two night stay. I wanted a place to sleep and not a resort! My room (102 or 103) was immaculate! It was so clean that for my own amusaement looked in the normally overlooked, missed places and they were All clean, The bed was comfortable and the sheets spotlessly clean. Folks at the desk were great and friendly! Breakfast was basic not fancy. I only saw my room but I couldn't have asked for more..it was clean!

The sink did not have a drain stopper and you could see a toothpaste tube lodged in the drain. The vinyl tile floor was filthy, couldn't have been mopped in weeks. The friction material in the bath tub was worn away and as slippery as a banana peel. We didn't shower because of it. The USB port at the base of the lamp didn't work. This hotel needs serious renovation.

Clean and quiet

The room was dirty with fingerprints on lights, drip streaks on TV, bathroom tub was disgusting and stained with dirt in corners on the floor. We checked out after 3 hours.

Extremely disappointed by my stay here. Dirty, torn up hotel, loud neighbors with virtually no sound barrier between rooms, and the worst continental breakfast we’ve run into.

Breakfast was very sub-par, even for this class of hotel. Everything felt at least a bit dirty (especially the laundry), and the bathroom sorely needed new fixtures.

The room needed better cleaning and it was a bit rundown. The walls were a bit thin so you could hear the people above and when people came in late at night it sounded loud. apart from that it wasn't bad for one night.

Room was dirty and smelled bad

Heat was fine, room was very small. Parking was safe and close by.

This is the very definition of a budget hotel. Clean and comfortable, but no frills - although it did have a refrigerator and microwave, which wasn't stated on the site and was a pleasant surprise. The vending machines were hit or miss as to if they would work on any given day. The hair dryer button was stuck in the "high" position, so the only way to turn it on or off was to unplug it. You get the idea. I was staying there for an event at Turning Stone. Although the hotel is only one exit west of the casino, it's still 8 miles or so. So expect a 10-12 minute commute back and forth. I would add one star for the wonderful staff, but subtract one star for noise. This hotel is RIGHT off the highway. So if you are not the kind of person who can sleep in the middle of a truck stop, you are going to struggle. I'm a light sleeper who can usually get by with white noise, but I had to sleep with noise canceling headphones on. I wouldn't avoid this hotel in the future, but I wouldn't seek it out, either. It's about as middle of the road as you can get.

Comfortable beds and nice shower!

Our room was on the thruway side of the building. There was quite a bit of noise from the thruway. Also there were dogs barking during the night. The curtains didn't block the sun very well. Didn't get much sleep.

Very few options in the area so we went with this one. We don’t regret it, but just manage your expectations. My biggest complaint is the tin bedframe where every time I got out of bed there was a “pop” sound- like a gunshot outside the window. I can’t imagine why they went with that material for a bedframe.

The staff was friendly enough. Room was a decent size and clean. We weren’t happy that the shower was warm at best. Tried in evening and in the morning. It was close to the highway and traffic was loud.

We have stayed here a number of times before in years past. It seems the rooms have been updated since about 5 years ago. Nice floors. Nice new beds. Friendly staff

Room and bathroom very dated. Terrible pillows. Bed was comfy.

The hotel was nicely renovated, beds were comfortable and the shower was very nice. Would definately stay again. Did not eat breakfast, didn't look like much of a selection but overall stay was nice.

The stay was nice but the bed was like sleeping on a rock.

The Days Inn has no back up method for checking guest in when the system goes down. We arrived, after driving 4 hours, and was unable to check-in to our room. System was still down when we had to leave for our evening plans so I was unable to freshen up before our evening plans. I had to change clothes at the convenient store near by.

Close to Turningstone for concert we were attending. Staff were very pleasant and very efficient, got there just as a busload of people was getting checked in and they did a fantastic job getting everyone processed!

We arrived around 430pm and we were unable to check-in because their system was done. I was hoping to shower andchange my clothes before our event at 530pm. They could not tell us when their system would be up.

Always stay here. Convenient location, clean comfortable rooms and staff is very friendly.

Welcoming staff and clean room

At first I was worried about my stay. The first night I did not get very much sleep due to a large metal banging waking me up several times over the night. Then the next morning I had to use a scalding hot shower as I could not get the temperature to work. And I still had five more nights for my stay! My the desk staff were great when I brought the issues up and they moved me to a new room ASAP. I couldn't have appreciated it more. The hotel was clean and well cared for. The continental breakfast does not have many options, but there is a Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds right next door.

All of the staff remembers we spoke with were extremely attentive and helpful!!

Room was clean. Bed was ok but the weird little square pillows… I dont understand. It’s like they took one pillow and created 2 from the stuffing. Front desk staff was very nice but did NOTHING about the party in the room across the hall. Nothing. And I know she saw them because at one point when one of the girls got locked out, she was screaming & hollering & banging on the door yelling that the clerk was looking at her. She then proceeded to twerk in the hallway to the song in her head. Once the partying slowed down, the children/babies in their room, started crying & emitting blood curdling screams. Could have been happening during the party too, who knows. All I could hear were 3 girls yelling at eachother, blasting Family Guy on the tv. Yep, that was my night.

Convenient to I90.

I was happy with the location, cleanliness, price, and staff. It's convenient to Sylvan Beach, just a straight drive down Rt 13, easy drive, only a few minutes. It basically shares a property/entrance with a Dunkin Donuts so you can simply walk a few steps for coffee and food which was awesome. The property and room seemed extremely clean. The a/c was already on so it was nice and cool and comfortable. However, the downside was that our room was noisy, so our stay was not restful. The building is next to a highway, and our room was on the highway side, so we just heard traffic and rumbling all night long. The building is two stories and we were on the first floor; there was constant stomping above us all night long, so I'm guessing we were hearing people in the corridor. So, noise levels were a real problem and we both got very little sleep leaving us exhausted and grumpy the next day. The property could probably improve on this by installing better carpet padding upstairs, and planting trees for sound buffer between the building and the highway where there is only an expanse of grass. If I were to stay in this property again, I would request to be on the second floor and on the Dunkin parking lot side.

Convenient to the Empire Trail. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly.

Was close to the Turing Stone Casino, 15 minutes away.

Within walking distance of the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds. Gas station/convenience store within 1/4 mile. Very clean, friendly and helpful desk personnel, limited continental breakfast. Our main reason for staying here was the location but for the cost it should have at least had a swimming pool.

It was nice and close to thruway

Doug was very accommodating. Very clean facility. Right across the street from the boxing hall of fame. Easy to find off of the thruway

free light breakfast was a bit scary. presplit english muffins in ziplock bags.

Older building that's convenient off the highway. Could have been cleaner. Don't plan on choices for breakfast- they have a few tables in the small lobby and packaged unhealthy snacks. Would have loved a piece of fresh fruit or yogurt. Staff was friendly.

Counter clerk was very friendly & helpful. Our sink was clogged & drano he used really didn't fix the problem, but we were only there for 1 night. Food options at breakfast were not great: only very processed food & no fresh fruit at breakfast (though they did have apples when we checked in the evening we arrived).

I travel quite a bit and am willing to spend a few dollars more for the convenience where breakfast is included in the price. And I am aware that Days Inn is not a luxury chain. However, in this case, calling what was presented “breakfast” is too charitable - but somehow this hotel gets away with charging for it as part of the room rate. Even well before 7 a.m. when one would expect there to be some choices, the main attraction was a “choice” of individual slices of bread in clear baggies (not even the zip-locking kind). I did see several miniature cellophane wrapped pastries of a dubious nature and 2 (count them) packets of instant oatmeal. No other choices of hot or cold cereal. No fresh or packaged fruit. No dairy. No eggs. Powdered creamer if you chose to brew your own coffee. No visible tea bags. There’s a Dunkin’ Donuts across the parking lot and it would probably benefit this hotel to make a deal with that store to serve its stale donuts from the previous day as a breakfast option. Maybe the hotel dietician works at one of the dozen or so nearby correctional facilities and can’t differentiate between wards of the state and paying customers.
