Americas Best Value Inn Fredonia NY

The room was clean and the staff member who checked us in was quite pleasant. Free breakfast is no longer offered. The hotel smelled like smoke. There was several long term guests of the hotel who were very loud. We were on the first floor and there was a man outside our window screaming violently to someone in the room above us. We felt very unsafe. Checked out at 6:00 just to get out of there.

The location was great, the grounds were nice, the staff very nice but the hotel is old and needs a fresh redo

Transients seem to inhabit the ajoining area. Hitel is extremely dated. Smells like bleach at front door, i suspect it masks 50 year old stench. Staff is lethargic. Place should be torn down and rebuilt. Lot is close to highway, but this building needs to go. Priced double what the value of the stay is, but hey .. if your tired.. they win. If your not tired, go another 50 miles and be happier you did

I appreciated friendly staff , outside is in need of cleaning and parking lot has lots of pot holes, people were hanging around smoking out by the cars. I am not super paranoid so I hoped that no one would vandalize, luckily they didn't. Loud talking in the mornings in hall ways. No breakfast, boo. My room was very clean and my bed comfortable.

The property is surrounded by what appears to be a homeless encampment. The toilet made a horrible screeching noise every time you flushed it I would not recommend this property.

The room was fine. Always were dirty and smelled like smoking. Entry door into hallway near me was not lockable, so no real security.

The quality of this hotel is no where near the price I paid. When I got there, I had to wait a bit while nobody was at the front counter. There was always an unpleasant atmosphere: people smoking and lounging around the entrance (sitting on the ground), kids screaming, etc. The hallway where my room was located had a smoke-like odor. I also feel lied to because the booking here said free breakfast and they absolutely did not have any breakfast! The room was stuffy, had little lighting, the windows don’t open, and it was not very clean when I got it: there were hairs on the bathroom floor, spiderwebs, tiny small dead spiders, the tub had pink residue, etc. There were also large empty rooms of the building that had the lights off and were vacant. It felt eerie. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was large. I personally would avoid bringing children here. The quality of this hotel is worth about half the price I paid for it. Pay a little bit extra and get something decent. I would only recommend this place if there were literally no other options.

I’ve stayed here several times. It’s near the highway, and restaurants, but the room floors are uncarpeted and there is always noisy machinery (air conditioning? Ice makers?) near my room. Also, neighbors’ noise is very evident.

Expedia did not communicate i needed a handicap room and the night staff had no idea what rooms were handicap accessible. However the room I booked that Econo Lodge said they had available wasn't available. Room smelled horrible. People were outside saying inappropriate things at 11 pm and same individual was in lobby sitting around. Despite what Expedia says there is NO BREAKFAST available. They got rid of it over 6 months ago. Hair in tub and dirt under bed.

Sticky floors, dirty bathroom, broken trim, lights don’t work, outlets don’t work, tv remote don’t work, no breakfast.

At 57 years old I've traveled extensively, all over the US and Canada. The reason i mention this is because this motel is possibly the worst we've ever stayed in. It was quite literally disgusting and disturbing. It started almost as soon as we entered the room. As most people do, we checked things in the room before we settled or unpacked. The firsr thing we noticed was the bath tub. It was filled with a black substance that ww could only diseetain was black mold. The tub had turbo jets which would've been nice except for the fact that they were the darkest area of the mold. The second thing was the floore. The floor is not carpeted but has linoleum tiles, we think. It was so gross and disgusting, dirty and sticky that my wife had to "mop and scrub" the whole floor with towels before we took our shoes off or set anything down. We were traveling with two of our grandchildren (ages 6 and 2&1/2) so we needed to move one of the beds up against the wall. Sooooooo gross! After pushing the bed against the wall we could see things like small toys, a comb, and other misc things (along with dirt and grime) which made it obvious that it hadn't been cleaned, maybe ever. Something rose else that the motel should've made aware, prior to booking is that it's also a residential property that caters to transients. That's maybe not a big deal to some but when you're traveling with small children it may be. I would like to add that all the employees were very kind and welcoming.

Due to bed bugs we had to leave . We were there for approximately an hour . Traveling across the country with two very young children, we arrived in the evening to get some rest . We noticed the white powder on the floors diametceous earth . Then check behind the beds and found my bed bugs. We immediately checked out and we’re told we would get a refund back to our credit card and never did. I also used my rewards totaling about $99 to book this and now that is gone. We had to drive 2 hours to find another hotel and didn’t arrive until around midnight. It was extremely stressful. We are also keeping an eye out for bedbugs on our luggage and had to clean everything. We are extremely unsatisfied. I hope to hear back from someone.

We have stayed at this property before as it is close to the college, but we never found it dirty before. The tub wasn't clean, the toilet was disgusting and the refrigerator wasn't clean. There was something stuck frozen into the little freezer. It was dusty, the floor wasn't swept and the bed was made but looked like someone had slept in it, We asked for a room change. We put our things in our daughters room. They gave us a different room when we got back but had moved the fridge from the first room into it.I could tell right away because of the scratches on the front. they always had breakfast, now just coffee in the room. Looking for a new place to stay when we drive to Fredonia to see our granddaughter perform.

Peeling baseboards, spider webs, tub drains slowly and felt slimy, broken reading lights, toilet hard to flush, stale smoke smell in hallway. Just terrible

Bed Bugs! and dirty sheets… When checking sheets and bedding we discovered bed bugs in one room and obviously soiled sheets in the other room. This property appears to be used primarily for transitional housing as well. We actually didn’t spend the night there and had to scramble to find another place to stay due to eclipse crowds! The front desk staff were actually very nice, but could not offer a refund.

Room wasn’t clean. Tub had a ring around it plus the corners were dirty. Headboards smudged with dirty fingers. Lamp frames had thick dust accumulated. Lots of debris under the bed. Floors were so dirty they turned white socks grey. Candy wrappers in drawers and loose Fredonia cocktail napkins left behind from previous guests. I pointed out issues to front desk at check out for which I’m receiving a partial refund. I left the room attendants a detailed message about how the room needs to be deep cleaned.

TV did not work and all attempts to connect with front desk failed.

This is the first time we've booked without first reading reviews. Hotel is old, but not uncomfortable. We weren't expecting much and only needed a place to sleep after a grad party. Check in was easy. Bed was comfortable. Security was questionable, chain on door was broken and an exterior door in room was unlocked. Floors were not clean..corners in bathroom were not swept ( hair and dirt). There was no hot water in the morning. If we had not just been going home, this would have been way more upsetting. We were compensated a meer $15. Didn't seem like much for the inconvenience. Cost was comparable to other hotels in the area, in the future we'll dtive the extra few miles to another hotel.

First, let me say the staff was very friendly & my rating is not based off of the staff’s excellent service. Hotels.com advertised this stay to include free breakfast. A sign was posted on the door stating no breakfast. OK, no big deal. When I entered the room, it was clean but way outdated. The term lipstick on a pig comes to mind. The wall tile in the shower was painted & peeling revealing the old color of the tile. The caulk was moldy. The tub was painted too revealing the old color & painted color. I’m well aware this is a budget friendly hotel, but the hotel could have updated the bathroom a better way like a bath fitter instead of putting a bandaid on the problem. Once again, the staff was nice though.

refrigerator was rusty,no microwave,needed updating

No carpet anywhere in this place, and lots of space under doors to adjoining rooms, so you hear everything, even your neighbors’ snoring. They did move me away from a noisy drunk. Beds and floors were clean and shower was strong and hot.

Everyone was very perfsional

A fair amount of people seem to be hanging around the place, but friendly enough. The room itself was quite spacious and comfortable, the bed was very cozy. Ask for a room on the courtyard side! I was disappointed that there was only a small fridge (no freezer) and no microwave. The staff did step in and allow me to use the house freezer for my freezer packs. Very helpful staff.

Had to change rooms immediately. Upon check in, clerk was very condescending. Argumentive. Gave us a room that was not accessible due recent foot amputation. Refused to help with bags or luggage cart or room assignment. There was no one at the hotel so a quick adjustment seemed reasonable. I simply was unable to walk or carry bags. Lights, tv and heating unit all not in working order. Refrigerator was moldy and smelled horrible. This room was not fit for any level of guest.

This Econo Lodge was terrible. I stood at the counter over 20 minutes waiting for someone to come check me in. Nothing . There was a sign with a number to call if you need help. I called it..I got a message that this is not set up. I could not get a hold of anyone. If I cancel I loose my money. This hotel was filthy and smelled like urine. I will not stay at an Econo Lodge again. Even when all hotels near are full. I'll stay in my car. I felt so unsafe. People outside. Noise all night. Especially someone pacing above me. Just a terrible experience.

After my friend and I arrived to this location around 12 am , drove more than 9 hours , usually we travel there and here , we never have any incident to register in…bc Expedia is my app that I use always and i knows was all set with staying in this hotel.,so we found this guy in reception with poor manners, rude and tell us that we have to pay asling me again my credit card…so I responsé that everything is paid already, then bc we seeing that he won’t help us ,saying that Expedia have nothing give them bla bla ,etc ,etc..so we we does are calling to Expedia to let them know , our situation , they let us know the everything was paid even the hotel taken already their part in full …but the situation was frustrating because Expedia tried to help us in all sense , until Expedia sent to them by email ,all transactions ( bc we staying 4 nights ) that we made already …after arguments by him and we with expedia…finally he said received the properly documents arguing that they put some cents more and bla n bla…what time all finished ? 2 am plus…we are so tired ,stressful , overwhelmed bc we even standing his bad temper… Now ,the bathtub was very dirty , i have to spend in Walmart sponges , Comet and gloves to clean it well…no ones coming to change towels or let us a roll of toilet paper , definitely there’s other owner , watch out when you taking out , another dude situation be present itself with payment again, make yourself assure that everything is done .

I woud say that you are not be dessapointed staying in this Motel, my friend and I staying for 3 nights, it was very pleasant, we fully recommend it , we are very happy, restaurant,store,walmart,etc,etc..is nearby!

In the description it said breakfast. No breakfast. Stayed Friday to Sunday, no housekeeping. People outside of the entrance to the hotel smoking. Had to walk threw that disgusting smell to get into the hotel.

You get what you pay for. Also, Expedia said it included breakfast but they didn’t provide it, so may want to check as we would’ve stayed elsewhere had we known.

Everything was quite convenient and friendly...... however, there was no breakfast or morning coffee as advertised . I was more upset with that.
