I have stayed here several times. Usually it’s fine. But now that have a totally unscrupulous $500 automated charge for “smoking or vaping” which they will collect without even going in the room to check for damages, basing it off of a “state of the art” sensor that, by the way, will also get triggered by blowing out a candle positioned near the sensor. Will you have a chance to refute it before they charge you? No! Will they check the room before they charge it? No! Totally ridiculous, I expect a class action lawsuit against the Hilton Brand if they continue to use this policy across more of their properties. Bad form. I’d love to see what $500 worth of damage they have to clean up. Because I can tell you, there is none. They gave me a report which states the time that the room’s air quality shifted, when the PPM went up is EXACTLY when I extinguished a candle. I had extended my room for one more night and when I went to check out an in again, they informed me that they tried to charge $500, which just goes to show you that they didn’t even get in the room to check for damages before charging a whopping $500. If this happens to you, I recommend reporting it to the BBB. Enough of these complaints will encourage them to stop… perhaps they will just lose enough business eventually.
