The cabin was very clean and comfortable. My family loved the pool table and the beds were comfortable. The fire place was also nice. The driveway is an adventure!

Acorn Lodge was magical! We stayed here after Christmas and it did not disappoint! The house itself is absolutey gorgeous. Each bedroom was well stocked with lines and blankets. The kitchen had everything necessary. It was perfect. Please take the description seriously. This house is on the side of a mountain. The roads are steep, twisty, and narrow. We had a four wheel drive vehicles and one front wheel drive (with chains if necessary). It snowed which was amazing but also limits trips to town without the right vehicle. Chains do not help in ice and it was icy. While the town may not have had ice and snow the mountain did. The guest book mentioned it can also be slippery during the leaf season. You just need to be prepared. Additionally there are slightly better directions available that are not as steep. I found these in the guest book. I called the rental place and suggested they include these other directions. These directions along with a timed departure (in the middle of the day when the roads had slightly thawed) is what allowed the front wheel drive car to get down the to the main road safely. We also brought all our food and supplies so this limited our need to travel on the roads. But there are stores and restaurants close by down the mountain. Do not let the roads scare you, because it was worth the trip! This is a truly magical place.

Cabin is located in the most ideal location if you plan to go Sugar or Beech Mt. Close proximity to local trails. Also only 10 minutes from the nearest stores. Parking at the property will require a bit of coordination of your party. Access to property was fairly easy, if the roads are dry any car can access the property however i recommend a 4WD/AWD in the winter months
