What guests think

AI-generated summary based on recent guest reviews

Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza blends striking 1930s Art Deco spaces and a central, walkable location with an aging guestroom experience, where dated decor, small bathrooms, and recurring maintenance issues (elevators, hot water, AC) temper otherwise memorable character.

Good, but not great. Great lobby architecture and design, very friendly and helpful staff. Our waitress at dinner and breakfast (same gal, must put in long hours!) went the extra mile. What was lacking was the cleanliness in our room. It was a hot day so as soon as we walked in the room my husband made a beeline for the air conditioner. He saw right away it was dusty and kinda yuck. We didn’t have a great view out the window, no biggie, but we couldn’t have enjoyed it anyway as the window was dirty. In the bathroom the toilet * should be 1000% pristine clean. It wasn’t. The light switch was grimy. And the bathtub faucet dripped warm water all night. I think Hilton should absolutely keep the charm of older hotels but the housekeeping game has got to be spot on.

I've stayed at the Cincy Hilton Netherlands several times previously and very much enjoy its character/history. This recent stay, for a state conference at the Convention Center, left a very poor taste in my mouth. The parking garage access to the lobby has always been an issue (not even sure it is ADA accessible) because you have to carry your luggage down steps to get to the front desk. The garage (not affiliated with the hotel) was unbelievably humid with no air movement. SWEAT! Once inside the hotel, it was obvious their HVAC was not keeping up with the August temperatures. This was evident also in the elevators (I'm not positive they were all working also) and in the hallways on each floor. My biggest complaint was my room. As soon as I opened the door, the smell of musty hit me. I thought it might clear out with occupancy. I was wrong, and the following morning I discovered why: the A/C unit had a leak and the carpet on the window wall was soaked as evidenced by my wet socks. I reported this to the front desk; the supervisor offered another room (timing was bad-I was unpacked already, heading to the first day of the conf.). I asked to be notified if engineering believed there to be a Legionella/health issue and I requested a drip pan at a minimum. There also was an issue with the state tax credit form. She said she would call me back on both issues....never happened. I ended up emptying the drip pan 7 times in 3 days, and the carpet was still soaked. Not happy.

Although the staff was incredibly kind, they were not very helpful. The situation to the valet parking was incredibly difficult. There’s no information on the website on where to go for valet. If there is, I missed it. Apologies if I did. Going from the front desk back to the valet, there’s no signs at all. It took me 15 minutes of wandering around. Please add more signs. Or maybe possibly have the staff ask did you park with us today? Otherwise. The hotel is amazing!!! Definitely five stars overall.
