The Westin Cincinnati

The new elevator system was a nightmare! Wait for several minutes until you get an elevator was the norm.

Everyone was friendly and check in was fast. My only complaint is that you’re already paying for the hotel room why do I have to pay for parking as well? That’s seems very ridiculous.

Parking garage was too small. Had to park offsite

Pool was closed. If it had been open the visit would have been perfect

The parking garage is horrible. Difficult to manure. The room was set at 65 but it was not cool in the room. There were no bars of soap in the rooms. They will not valet trucks.

Family event. Love the Westin with the exception of the parking! It’s absolutely terrible and if you drive a full-size pick up or suv they will not valet it. They direct you were to park which is a narrow parking structure below the hotel where your vehicle barely fits the ramp to the area.

Not a fan of the elevators.

Parking garage machine had a paper jam when we went in. Had a very hard time hearing and understanding how to get out. Took about 10 minutes. People were very frustrated behind me. It would be nice to have somebody that you could understand talking to you over a speaker that you cannot hear very well.

The hotel needs some updates. This should be a nice downtown hotel for the money they are charging. The elevators, they were the worst. One was not working at all and the other 2 took forever. Seriously, we waited 20 minutes for an elevator at one point. The day we left we had to take the stairs because the elevators were so bad. We couldn't get out of the stairwell and about died doing all the stairs.

Nice location. Not many amenities. No pool, microwave. We had 1 wash rag and no hand soap at check in. Room was warm. Had to call maintenance to fix and they even bought a box fan to circulate the air. Parking in onsite garage is cheap @ $21/ day. I've machine on floor not working. I was at same hotel in May and ice machine on that floor was not working either.

room was not cleaned at all. Poop stains in the toilet, towel in the middle of the room on the floor, pillows in disarray, dirt in the ice bucket with no liner available. Will not stay at another Westin. The previous room keys were on the table even. Clearly not cleaned.

We stayed one night and I’m very glad for that. I’ve never stayed in a hotel with nastier floors. My one year old was crawling around and looked like he came out of the coal mines. The floors turned his knees and feet completely black. Our socks went from white to completely black. It was very unsettling and made for a pretty unappealing stay. We will not be back and I would gladly steer people elsewhere for their stay.

Was in town for a Reds game. Very comfortable bed! Very clean hotel room with a nice downtown view!

Front desk staff was incredibly welcoming and check in was seamless. Room was comfortable and clean with a great view of the square.

Upon getting into our room and going to adjusting our ac, we noticed the vent completely covered in black mold. I did report it and we were moved to another room. Not much better. The bathroom vent there was covered with thick gray dust that you could set from the entrance way of our room. The bedding had sweat stains on it, the pillow on the chair had some nasty yellow stain on it. First on the light and human hair on the light fixture. For $350/night x 3 nights I expected better. Staff was very friendly I will say, but the rooms were NOT up to par. Would NOT stay here again.

Lovely staff and pristine rooms.

Valet service was very helpful , security young lady that worked Thursday and Friday was very professional and helpful as well. The housekeeping was awful dirty cover on bed upon arrival, took hours before anyone came to change them. Then the next day requested room service, never happen.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Bed was in addition. Location is prime. We had no issues in the parking garage but it is tight getting in. Area is walkable to many restaurants and right across from the square. Staff was friendly and helpful

This was a very disappointing stay. There was a soaking wet carpet in and around the dresser from a leak coming from the ceiling (Room 1633). The drawers were unusable due to water laying in them. We reported it to front desk and they said they would see if there was another room they could move us to. We never heard from them again and had to go on with our plans. Apparently the hotel was fully booked.. They did send us extra towels up to the room and we had to dry things up as best as we could as the problem was still not resolved when we got back to our room that evening. The bedside lamp did not work either and was not fixed as we had also reported that minor problem along with the water issues. This was a very disappointing experience as these properties have a much better reputation. I will most likely not book through a 3rd party again as the front desk was unable to compensate me for my bad experience here in any way. Very disappointing indeed. A perfect location but a lousy experience.

First two days housekeeping, very poor but the last three days change of staff things were a lot better

The location is of course excellent and overall it’s a nice property. However, we didn’t have adequate hot water after 10am on our stay on the 12th floor.

The air conditioning system doesn’t work at certain times of the year bc they said the system doesn’t operate locally. I’ve stayed here before for convenience, but depending on the time of year, it’s too cold in the room or way too hot. I would avoid staying in the spring or fall.

The room was muggy even though it was set to 65. The sheets were damp the entire stay. Our drain didn’t work well in the shower so we had 3 inches of water our entire showers.

The room - the bed was not comofortable at all - it was like sleeping on a pile of plywood - I was tossing and turning all night... so then I was also able to hear the couple in the next room being "intimate" around 4 AM. My child had to get a rollaway bed for our room as I had originally thought it would just be me and got a king bed. The rollaway bed was much nicer than the king bed - lol. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold - there was no in between. The bathroom also showed signs of age - rust on the towel holder - the mirror coming apart - not conditions expected for the price. The valet/parking garage entrance was a bit of a challenge mostly due to some road construction out front. My husband said a valet named Adam was kind of rude and pushy while we were just trying to unload all of our stuff from the car. He suggested we go down to the parking garage and bring our stuff up from there however there were no carts down in the garage and it only took us a few minutes to unload everything in the front area. Another valet, Eden, was very helpful. Front desk staff were also very helpful. We were not bothered by the lights from the 5/3 area that other people have complained about and our room did face that area. We also had to pay for the parking... so for what we ended up paying for this hotel - it is aggressively mediocre.

Excellent location. We had a room overlooking Fountain Square. Rooms are spacious with all the relevant amenities. Price was wonderful and self-park was reasonably priced. The concierge was very personable and became almost a friend!

It was a nice room but the air conditioner was stuck on and the room was too cold. They tried to fix it but it did not work. We got it to turn off but the room got so stuffy we had to turn it back on.

The rooms are spacious with beautiful views. Location is also great for downtown Cincinnati which made it easier to walk everywhere.

Hotel rooms are showing their age a bit, but the beds were very comfortable, good pillows, and quiet rooms. Nice views of downtown and the ice rink from the 14th floor.

Great stay and customer service at the bar. Close to Great American and Paycor stadiums and riverfront area. Only issue for us was very slow wi-fi for my computer. Recommend Jeff Rubys great place.

Staff was always welcoming. There was a misunderstanding when checking in. It was too early and the front desk informed us rooms would not be ready till 4:00 but they would call me (checked me in and took my cell #) if it was before 4. We came back at 3:30 and I asked someone if I still had to wait. They said yes but they had mine already processed and waiting. I sat there for 30 minutes for no reason. Also at the interior morning breakfast had no real system to take someones order and notifying that it was available by other than the cook ( who was very friendly and great) saying he would yell out your order. Plus people were standing to give there order not knowing where to stand. Thought was not professional for being a Weston hotel.

The staff was amazing!

Westin overbooked the hotel and I was walked from the hotel, even after calling 2 times the week leading up to the reservation to confirm my room. It was midnight and I’m a younger female, and they seemed to not care that I was left without a room. Staff was rude and not helpful, and the lines to check in/out each time were 30 min long. And they lost something of mine that my friends left with them at the desk just hours before. Parking and valet were both full by morning, as they don’t have private parking. Elevators took very long to get up to the floors, and no access to stairs. For the amount of money I paid, as a Marriott member, to stay here - I was shocked at the little care they gave.

Jovi checked us in and she couldn’t have done a better job!!! Pointed us to all the attractions, transportation, food, etc. Super friendly and absolutely LOVED our stay. Ended the night at the hotel bar. Bartender was amazing and we also ordered food (pizza) which was excellent. Especially impressed with the security of the hotel. Will definitely be back!

We try to stay at the Westin every time we’re in town. We don’t have a bad thing to say. Haley @ check in desk is so friendly! Seeing Paul at the lobby bar adds to our fabulous stay! We look forward to seeing him. He’s always so nice & on top of slinging drinks for the busy night time rush! We’ll be back soon!

The Westin is conveniently located in downtown Cincinnati. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Check in was easy. Frances was a pleasure to work with. She was excited about our trip and gave very helpful information salt the hotel and area. The room was standard but roomy. The restaurant Ingredients offered plenty of breakfast options.

The check in was crazy and had to wait for room to be ready with no option for early check in. Other then that everything was great!

Katherine (Kat) or maybe it is Catherine (Cat) was very helpful (front desk). All persons at the front desk were helpful but Cat/Kat was especially so.

Labor Day weekend, 30 minutes to check into room because of 2 people working the desk and 1 of the 2 didn’t know what he was doing. He checked in 4 people, she did the other 20 while interrupted check ins getting peoples luggage from the locked room. Construction everywhere. Expected better from the Westin

Fantastic location for a Reds game! Only a 10 minute walk! Safe area with food options nearby. Pay to self park at the hotel $21 for overnight great price for location. Hotel was very clean and AC in the hallways! Would definitely stay at the Westin again when I return to Cincinnati!

The Westin Cincinnati is great option for a hotel in downtown. Local to lots of food options and public transportation, as well as the stadiums and museums. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. We had a great view of Fountain Square, but be aware if you need absolute silence at night since there may be music events. Overall a positive stay and I would definitely stay again should we visit again.

The lobby is nice, we went to the bar and ordered food. The food comes from the room service kitchen and took over an hour. When it arrived it definitely was not fresh. The breakfast restaurant was a bit confusing and the lady we asked for clarification was snide when she replied. Parking garage isn’t clearly marked for where to go to exit garage on foot or how to get to the lobby.

Property is tired. Entrance on 5th street is very dirty and not up to Westin Standards. Lack of dining options is a problem. The hotel “restaurant” closes at 12pm which is not very helpful.

We had a show at the Arnoff Center, Easy walk from the hotel. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. There was construction in the hotel so the escalators weren't working but the elevators worked fine. They were just updated. Friendly staff at check-in. The little breakfast place on site and the Dunkin are closed on Sunday. Clean room. Nice view from the 14th floor!

Very clean, huge room with tons of space. Lady at check in was so nice and had maps of the area and recommendations. Paul the evening bartender in the lobby bar was great. Fast attentive service for all, and friendly. Housekeeping staff we passed in the hall all smiles and friendly greetings.

The bar in the Westin was really over priced for drinks.

The room itself was fine. Clean and comfortable as expected. The room service was TERRIBLE! we were missing part of our order and what we did get was overcooked and missing part of the order and it took over 2 hours. By the time we got it no one was answering the phone so we just had to take what we got. We were tired after the football game and that’s why we didn’t just go out to eat. The neighbors were loud and belligerent at 2am. We called the front desk and security came up. I was impressed that they stayed up there, because less than 5 minutes after the first time security talked to them, they started up again. Security knocked and gave them a final warning and we got some sleep. Overall the room was comfortable and clean. Just don’t get the room service. It’s awful.

Staff’s help is bare minimum, they don’t go above and beyond in their service. Birds in the building and it’s not a priority to building maintenance to get them out. Corners and places in the building have very limited lounging. They only serve breakfast at their Ingredients dining in the building and they close off the table and chairs along with it. Breakfast is not included in the stay.
