Pool was really warm, spa in good shape

Looked online for a hotel with a hot tub, this one had a hot tub and pool, however found out on check in that both were closed. We would have gone elsewhere had we known. Sucks to pay full price and not have all the amenities listed available

I stay at many Best Western and this has terrible bedding and pillows. Further my priority is to stay at hotels that offer exercise facilities and this property has a terrible exercise room. The room is open to the the spa with no door enclosing the two rooms. The treadmill was out of order and exercise bike needed attention. To say the least I be staying property in the future.

It would have been fine accept the treadmill and elliptical trainer in the gym were broken and we were staying there mostly for the gym. The stationary bike worked relatively well. There was no water available at breakfast. The staff were all very nice.

The pool was in useable , staff obviously does not know how to mix chemicals properly, and they were over chemicalized and unable to be used

The Best Western hotels provide nice breakfasts. This one was no exception. The property was OK but we couldn’t use the hot tub because it was broken. The room with two queens was fine and typical of what I expect…nothing special but worked out for us.

Couldn't get room on 1st floor and no elevator for those that have trouble with stairs

Stayed for the pool & hot tub both broken, frozen water. Workout room closed. Paid alot of money for 1 night and really needed the hot tub after 12 hours of driving. Hotel room,bathroom had dog poop on the wall & door. Brought everything to the attion of the front desk, they didnt really care. Im sure they heard it from alot of people. I would like a partial refund. I would call before staying again.

I arrived at the 3 pm check in time. Waited in the parking lot for two hours as our room was not ready. Kids were looking forward to the pool. Chemicals were off for a day and a half. Kids swam once. Staff seem distant… Bed hurt my back one night so switched to the other one, it was much better. Waffles were good at breakfast….

Bathroom was dirty. It was not cleaned very well. There were dark hairs in the bathtub and on the floor and the carpet was really dirty. Looked like it needed replaced.

The room was just ok, but could use some updating. Pool and hot tub were clean.

This hotel stay was excellent from beginning to end. We did not use the pool. The room was comfortable and very clean. We had a wonderful stay of one night but I would return to this hotel. The staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was like a feast with many hot and cold choices.

Our room was really run down with a couch where you can feel the springs, the bed on both sides had these divets in them and badly needed new mattresses, and the cover had a stain. And it smelled bad in the unit so we had to run the fan all night. The windows didn’t open (either stuck or secured) so there was no fresh air. The floor also was stained. We just felt kind of gross sleeping in there and was so happy to only have it for one night before moving on. The front office staff would disappear for 30 min at a time with no one there to help whatsoever. And when I asked for an extra pillow, they said sorry. We don’t have extra pillows. That’s a first for me. On the plus side, the breakfast was good. The building from the outside is attractive with plenty of free parking and the indoor pool seemed nice and clean. The immediate area is industrial with a busy road but the harbor about 10 min to the south is cute and has some nice little cafes. Florence is about 25 min north through a gorgeous mountain winding road.

Bed was dirty walls had urine on it and floors werent vaccummed paid that much for not a clean room

The property isn’t maintained black mold all around the bath tub caulking. Broken light switch, shower wonky, front door handle weird. I didn’t take my slippers off. The lady at the desk is very nice and doing her best, but the property is in disrepair.

The hotel is old and needs to be updated. Carpet was dirty and chairs in the room were soiled. The bedding was nice.

Carpets were filthy. No shower gel and no regular coffee. Staff unfriendly. Curtains were shredded, and way over priced.

It was awful. Booked into a dirty room. Requested a new room and was placed in ANOTHER dirty room. 0/10 will not be returning.

Most hotels have one bed that is firm and one that is soft. My daughter claimed the soft bed. My husband and I were left with a bed so firm that I could have used it for a foundation. There is such a thing as too firm. My friend that had the other room said that both beds were fine in her room. Other than that I would highly recommend the property.

Extremely slow WiFi was basically unusable even for email and web browsing

There was construction on the main road next to the hotel that went until at least 3 am. The walls were so thin and we could hear everything all night long. Breakfast was also a disappointment. Limited choices and had to ask for plates and spoons.

We had a great view of nature and river outside our window! Very peaceful. Was Sam the hot tub was not in service.

Old but kept fairly well. Breakfast was lousy. Was very noisy due to type of construction. Every room was open to the parking lot and the street noise was almost intolerable.

Overall, it was a good experience. Helped greatly by the courteous and kind young man at the front desk.

The front desk person was very friendly and accommodating. I needed to check in early and they had no problem accommodating my needs.

They were super helpful! Great service! We showed up last minute and needed and extra bed. They were kind enough to move an extra queen mattress into the room for us! Everyone was super helpful and polite and the room was very spacious and comfortable. Definitely recommend this place.

Staff was horrid, we stayed 5 days and asked every day for more towels (never got them) door handle was literally falling off. Room stunk, breakfast was never kept on top of the staff sat there until someone mentioned there was no food then they acted very put out to refill it.

At this Bestwetern if this one ladie is is working she always makes you waiting until 3pm, even when there are rooms ready, and SHE acts like you are bothering her when you ask to check in, totally rude women, I like to stay there bit she is a huge negitive for this hotel, and its like kids are runing the place not professionals

The evening check in staff was very cold and aloof. The morning gal the next day was very matter of fact not very friendly, just going thru the motions. The Best Western in Arcata was much more superior and very welcoming to customers

Worst hotel experience stay. Poor customer service, pictures on the website is click bait. Had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency, was told that we would not get charged the full amount for the additional 2 nights. We were charged anyway, when I called back to speak to the manager and owner, was given the run around, no calls back from the hotel. Half a dozen calls to the hotel, and no call back. We will never stay at Best Western again.

I booked my reservation months in advance and when I showed up to check in I was told they did not have a room available. Although a woman right in front of me added a room as she was checking in and another person came in while I was trying to check in and said they had just booked a room about 10 minutes ago. Turned out that they did have my reservation, they just hadn’t CLEANED enough rooms so rather than having the housekeeping staff stay late or whatever needed to be done they just told me they didn’t have any rooms available. The manager finally said she would go clean a room for me herself if I could come back in a little while (this was at 7:30 pm). She also said she’d get me a discount due to all of the inconvenience. The day I was a checking out I asked about the discount. The front desk girl called the owner to ask about it. I was told the owner would call me back. When the owner called me back she kept saying that there was no reservation under my name at all and asked if “I was calling the right hotel”. I told her that I had been standing at the front desk in her hotel when the front desk called her. Finally the owner said she’d need to talk to the manager and call me the next day. That was 2 days ago and I’ve heard nothing. Guessing I won’t be seeing that discount

This property was average. Nothing really stuck out as marvelous. It was conveniently located and offered breakfast included. The room was quite worn out, perhaps because I booked through expedia I got a more worn out room. I would never have paid the quote from BW though. It is located between two roads so I wouldn't exactly say it's quiet. I felt safe and the location was convenient.

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western. Staff especially "Katie" were extremely pleasant and helpful. We should have asked for a blanket before realizing at 2am we needed it but that is on us as it was offered when we checked in. We would stay here again. Location is also extremely convenient off 101.

Not the best location. Not the quality we expected from a Best Western and especially given the price.

The room was clean, I would have preferred a thicker blanket. We did ask for more blankets, but I think they forgot about us. For a continental breakfast it was good… I do wish the sausage didn’t look like it was microwaved.

Nice place to stay however, not very well managed. Hotel was full. We asked for a 3rd bath towel in our room and were told there were none available (there were 3 of us). Breakfast was very unorganized. Staff was very absent and not keeping things stocked for the customers. Even plates were not available and were only being provided 2 or 3 plates at a time. I would personally recommend providing paper plates/products if there is not enough staff to keep up with the dishes. The waffle mix ran out and it took 20 minutes for the employee to mix it and replace it in the dispensing container.

Staff member at check in was super sweet and room was clean but that was the only positive. Both the gym and pool had signs saying they were not available. Morning staff appeared to not be interested in working. Complementary breakfast was out of almost everything and there was a line of people still waiting to eat with 45 minutes left in the breakfast window. Staff was not checking the amount of food or bringing anything out with any sort of urgency. Upon check out, no staff at front desk for nearly 10 minutes and had to call the hotel in order to draw an employee out to assist.

Hotel is a bit dated but very clean. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast items ran out while we were there and we waited so long that we decided to have breakfast at a local restaurant instead.

Rooms and property are clean and well maintained. The free breakfast leaves a little to be desired and they struggle to keep everything (food as well as cups, plates & utensils) stocked. Room was comfortable parking is easy. This is a very decent to stay

The check in and check out were fast and easy. Plenty of parking. The room was clean and well maintained, My only small complaints were that the beds only had 2 sheets and a very thin blanket on them and no extra blankets in the closet. And the staff had a very hard time keeping up with things during the breakfast time. The food was decent and the staff was very nice, but clearly they needed at least one more person during the hours that breakfast is available. Otherwise it was a nice stay
