Pittsburgh Marriott City Center

Elevators are broken except for one... Room we booked was not ready so we had to get a different room. Temperature is hot and humid and system is not performing well. Bathtub faucet was leaking and tub was holding water. Generally gross.

The hotel was great bedding was clean and beds was comfortable but the pool was out of service and restaurant was a bit expensive which I ordered door dash for the whole stay I found the downtown area a bit boring not really much to do in the city definitely will not be visiting Pittsburgh again but Marriott is the place to be for comfort

Location was everything we came for the game across the street but it was advertised to have a pool and didn’t. It was confusing to navigate the parking situation which was $30 a day a stranger could park there for the same amount. The escalators don’t work the staff didn’t even explain the directions. Starbucks isn’t actually in the hotel. The tub was dirty. The only good thing was the place was very quiet and the bed was comfy. We did get good sleep.

Two of the elevators were not working. There were long wait times. They finally let us use the service elevator. This was a significant issue since many of the guests were there for the same concerts and after the shows the elevator lines were very long.

Nice location. Parknng was very expensive.

My Husband And I Chose This Marriott Convention Center In Pittsburgh For The Location Because We Were Going To A Penguins Hockey Game And Pat McAfee’s Big Night Aht In Paints Arena. This Hotel Is Literally Right Across The Street From Paints Arena Where The Penguins Play. The Employees At This Hotel Are So Friendly, The Hotel Is Clean And Has A Starbucks, A Great Bar And Two Great Restaurants With Excellent Food. We Can’t Say Enough About This Great Downtown Location, You Can Walk To Many Things Which Is Awesome! We Walked To Pirates And Steelers Stadium. We Would Highly Recommend This Hotel To Family Friends And Strangers!! We Will Definitely Be Back!! We Love Pittsburgh

The property itself was nice, clean, comfortable, and very convenient. My friends and I were going to see the Tyler the Creator concert, so it was super convenient to be across the street from the venue, but unfortunately, that's also what made this experience bad. This review would have been 5 stars, but after the concert, the elevators were full, so you had to wait in line for a long time, and we were on the 15th floor. When we tried to use the stairs that staff recommended (2 different staff 2 different times in 2 different stairwells), the doors were locked in the stairwells BOTH times, and they didn't even access the upper floors. Imagine our exhaustion after climbing 10 flights of stairs twice just for the door to be locked and for the stairs to not even reach our floor, so we had to climb back down. The choice eventually was to either wait an absurd amount of time for the elevator or just leave and come back. Also, one of the elevators stopped working during this ordeal after we finally got on one. This is really dangerous and frustrating because you genuinely cannot gain access to your room, and even if you did and tried to go back down, it takes an absurd amount of time for the elevator to arrive. This issue continued even into the next morning when people began to leave, and the elevator wait time to get down and upstairs was still about 10 minutes. Overall, it was a great place to stay in all the other aspects, but the elevator situation was terribly inconvenient.

The elevators were not working; long wait times for the elevator and long lines. Ended up taking the stairs to and from the 11th floor.

Everything was good aside from the parking situation. Way too expensive for hotel guests.

Great hotel, great staff, great location, mediocre food, worst elevators ever. Only one elevator was working both times I stayed here. They did open up the service elevator but it didn't really help.

When we walked in the room it was 53 degrees. We called the engineer and about midnight it was 90 degrees. The shower was covered in soap scum. I guess you have to request housekeeping. I wish someone would have mentioned that when we checked in. There was only one tiny trash can in our room so we had to call to have our garbage emptied.

There was black mold on the bathroom ceiling! There was obviously water damage at some point. They did switch me to another room with no issues.

Room was clean, bathroom very clean. The hallway smelled musty. I was taken aback by the security door coming from the parking garage was unlock. I was approached by a homeless man in the garage asking for money. He stood and watched my car. The front desk person was very rude and unhelpful when checking in. Breakfast staff was great and checking out was pleasant.

There were two dirty wine glasses in our room when we walked in, which was a little unsettling, and the shower leaked which was a little annoying, BUT to be fair, the glasses were sitting behind a lamp and not obviously visible, so I can see how they could be missed. The bed was clean, the bathroom was spotless. The staff was AMAZING and so helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel was wonderful for us, we were able to walk downtown and to the stadiums, parking was also wonderful.

The carpet looked like it wasn’t vacuumed, the bedding had a dirty spit on it, one of the pillows had a spot on it, pay for parking was ridiculous on top of the WiFi didn’t work, it was very noisy in the hallway constantly, also the mattress needs to be changed out, I woke up every morning hurting. Overall I wasn’t happy with the stay. Beautiful view is about it

Here is the good part. We had a big room. It was quiet. The price was fair. The bed was comfortable enough. On the other hand. Our room was not acceptably clean. The service was aweful. It’s not a great location. Parking is $50 bucks a night although the lot is empty. I would find somewhere else next time, in fact I am starting to think Marriott is not for me.

The hotel is located very convenient for the hockey game at the PPG arena. The room was clean, spacious enough. The beds were on the small side. Comfortable hotel but nothing special in my opinion. Staff was very nice, allowing us to check in earlier. There were a lot of people after the game, but it was quiet on the floor.

Hotel was good but not great. Rooms need a refresher as a bit outdated. Showers, carpets, beds etc... some paint needed in hallways and lobby.

We stayed here one year ago to the day and only 1 elevator was working and guess what, same thing this year. It's a great location and great staff but it's almost not worth it for the inconvenience. The Internet was slow and kept going out and our sink was very, very slow to drain.

There was an issue with the elevators they were using a service elevator as well. It was a very busy weekend for Pearl Jam shows. No usb ports in the room. A little outdated.

Location was our main factor in choosing to stay at this property. We attended the 2024 NCAA basketball tourney right across the street. The parking garage costs $30 per day and is right below the hotel. Bar/Pub is next to main lobby with typical pub food selections and drinks including some craft beer selections. We did not eat in the restaurant. Our corner junior suite was spacious with a large closet and very comfortable bed. There was a small refrigerator (no freezer section), cheap coffee maker with pouches and NO microwave. The hotel still charges for daily internet usage unless you book directly with Marriot/Bonvoy. There is no free coffee available in the lobby, you have to go to Starbucks right next door. I am not a fan of Starbucks, so I walked a couple of blocks to Dunkin Doughnuts. A couple of liquor stores are within walking distance (12 - 15 min.) as well.

Clean, newer bathrooms. The city is a little loud at night even on the 20th floor but nothing a white noise app won’t drown out.

The room border on the elevator shaft, which made it noisy. The bathroom was tiny. Otherwise, it was perfect!

Elevator was broken, mattress was very broken down (sagged in the middle), and pillows were very very flat, although I did appreciate there natural fiber. This hotel is all about location. Id only stay here again because of close proximity to PPG. Valet employee, Jay, was exceptional.

Had to wait four plus hrs after check in to get a room!!

This is the first Marriott I was very disappointed in. Check-in is at 4 o’clock. We got there at 4:30. Our room was still not available. We waited until 530 and I had to walk up to the counter again to get a room key. The elevators were very slow so whenever an elevator comes on your level, just get in it and go for the ride. With as many events that go on there, they should have it organized a lot better. We tried to take the stairs and the doors were locked to get onto the levels. Lastly, we called valet parking and they were so busy that they made us wait 20 minutes. We called down to the desk three times and no one answered because they were understaffed. Then when we got down after the time they told us we had to wait another 10. I just wanted the keys to my car to leave. I was very disappointed and will not be staying at this Marriott again. This hotel was only convenient because of walking distance. Other than that, I was not impressed and I would pick any other hotel in Pittsburgh to stay up.

Since they are right next to an arena they have a lot of concert business. They were a little behind in turning over rooms but they comped us breakfast the next day. They were Super nice and took good care of us. I would definitely stay there again.

We arrived around 5 pm to find the valet was extremely backed up so we opted to self park. We walked in the lobby to find a massive line waiting to check in. It took about 20 minutes to get to the desk only to be told our room wasn’t ready. We were in town for a concert so ended up getting ready in the lobby bathroom along with several other guests. Our room was finally ready around 6 pm. When we returned from the concert we were informed the kitchen was closed, despite the sold out hotel, and no food was available. The next morning we opted to hit the lobby Starbucks for breakfast because we needed to get on the road, only to find they were sold out of all breakfast options. Then our parking garage ticket wouldn’t scan in the payment machine. No one at the front desk could help us, they referred us to the valet who said they were having a lot of issues with the tickets that morning and there was someone in the garage who could help us. There was not. We hit the help button at the exit and a grumpy security guard said it was our fault for putting the ticket near a magnet (we did not). Overall it was not a great experience. The only positive was the proximity to the PPG Paints Arena. I find it hard to believe this is the first time the hotel was ever sold out, the lack of preparation by a Marriott was extremely disheartening.

Every single staff member was incredible! Jonathan at the front desk was so absolutely amazing and same with the staff over at the resturant. Clean room, comfortable beds and great walking distance to the PPG paints arena (directly across the street)

Staff goes above and beyond to make the guests comfortable, very accommodating. During our last stay, the staff helped us with our reservation when Expedia told us untruths about changing our reservation. My husband and I stay there any time we come down for a Pens' game or other PPG events. Would not stay anywhere else.

This stay was awful. Waited over two hours for my room after I checked in at 4:00. Was told only 20 minutes. Staff acted like ALL the people were inconveniencing them by asking when they could get in their rooms. Was there for an event and there were people actually getting ready in the lobby. Some were still waiting when I was able to get in . Families with children as well. And NO compensation except for a drink and a snack.

We stayed overnight for the WWE event. Was across the street from PPG Arena and a great price! Definitely will stay again when we come back to Pittsburgh!

This hotel is across the street from PPG arena. it's a 2 minute walk very good location for events. Hotel was clean, staff was attentive and personable. The rooms do not have updated tech stuff so you will need wall adapters. We had a very nice view of the city. The breakfast buffet was well above average. There is a connected parking garage. We paid $30 for parking there.

Great location close to many walkable shops and restaurants. Or catching a game or event at PPG. Staff are fantastic and helpful. Restaurant onsite is helpful along with the Starbucks. Rooms are spacious, clean, convenient and quiet. Fantastic place to stay.

Location to the PPG paint arena was nice. There wasn't anything really open close to the hotel on a Saturday night.

Breakfast had a wide variety of options. Bed was very comfortable. Shower pressure was really good!

You are paying for the convenient location. There is no breakfast included, no pool, and you have to pay extra for parking. Decor is older style and has not been updated in a long time, I imagine. The room was clean though and only a 5 min walk to PPG arena. We didn’t really deal with staff other than to check in and out. Our drinks at the bar were good but pricey.

Room was dated, smelled like body odor when you first entered. Desk staff was great. Restaurant was under staffed during college move in week. Disappointing.

Breakfast was definitely fresh and consistently restocked if an item ran low. Staff was attentive and helpful. Variety of food was excellent, and included healthy choices.

Buffet dinner. No food!! No servers. No microwave in room. No fans in bathrooms. Staff was fair but not good.

I was there for a concert on Labor Day Weekend. Service was excellent. Hotel was fine. Disappointed we 'paid' for a breakfast, but when we went down, customers were leaving because they had waited 45 minutes for service and got none. I personally did not wait because I didnt have the time that morning to see for myself. Otherwise, a very nice hotel with friendly front desk service
