This hotel exceeded our expectations, it was fabulous from the minute we checked in. The staff were awesome, hooked us up with a breakfast voucher. We were sitting out back by the fire and the manager brought us out hot chocolate. We will definitely stay there again!!!

the shower was awful! it ran with the power of a sink faucet and was either off or scalding hot! somebody's going to get hurt. when i told the person who checked me out all he said was ~ oh, sorry. my tv picture was burned blue .. i eas given 2 cards at check-in to use for beach towels. i didn't need or use them. yet i was charged $20 for not turning them back in!! rip off

I hate to leave bad reviews, but I also want to be honest about my hotel experiences. I travel a lot. Sadly, this hotel stay was terrible from the start. We arrived to a room that was not properly cleaned. There were crumbs on the floor & desk. The carpet was damp and smelled like dirty, wet laundry. Our tv, refrigerator, microwave and outlets on one side of the room did not work. Maintenance was called to fix it, this took about 2 hours. We were never offered to switch rooms. We had to wait until the issue was resolved before we could leave our room for dinner. This was supposed to be a smoke free hotel, I was told this included vaping. However, someone was vaping from their balcony and it reeked! On our 2nd night we were awakened to the fire alarm going off around 1:00 am, for no apparent reason and then again at 5:00 am. The front desk staff said he didn’t know what was wrong, but there was no fire. Our sink was stopped up and would not drain properly when brushing our teeth and the shower drain was so full of hair that it was completely clogged. I stood in water up to my ankles while showering with barely any water pressure. The front desk attendant, Danielle, was EXTREMELY rude and nonchalant when I asked about the fire alarms. I politely expressed my dissatisfaction over the cleanliness of our room, to which she responded, “I’ll have someone look into it.” No apology, no smile, or emotion, just horrible customer service. Safe to say, we will not be back.

The good: The location on the beach was great. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The bad: The elevators were humid, dirty, and didn’t smell great. The hot tub was out of order and the fitness center had a huge puddle in the middle of the floor, was too humid to use and smelled very, very bad. The area around the ice machine smelled of vomit. The restaurant was on a limited menu due to 2 of their 3 chefs not coming in. Also good: The food we got was perfectly fine and the pina coladas were good. Our server was also very friendly and helpful.

Was very disappointed in this hotel. Our sheets were dirty- not stained - dirty. It was 100% obvious they had not been changed. The bar area was incredibly dirty..looked as though the floor hadnt been swept or moped in a while with lots of dirt and balls of hair all around the bar area. I would not be stating at this hotel again.

We had a great stay. Definitely family friendly. But the room was not cleaned properly. We had to get house keeping to come get a difty towel left hanging in the bathroom. I clean for my stay regardless but to see hair in the tub and my clorox wipe come out dirty wqs mind boggling.

Staff was friendly and attentive. All in all it was a pleasant stay but wish it was cleaner. The furniture in the lobby appeared dirty with stains on the cushions. The elevators and staircases were dirty and had a foul odor. There were cigarette butts on the stairs. Balcony chairs and table were dirty and needed to be scrubbed (by us) before we could sit outside.

I was lead to believe I would have a balcony and when I opened the sliding door I had a view of ac units. I paid a premium price for a room with no view. Also the room was very small and had little room to put anything in the fridge.

The property is right on the beach. Ocean view rooms are right over tbe pool--- which was terribly annoying with screaming kids. ...thankfully there is quiet hour. My room was very nice. Clean, very spacious and the bed very comfortable.

Nice location if you book ocean front Dont stay on 3rd floor facing parking lot. You can't sit on balcony. Kitchen fans are blasting up at you. They couldn't switch us as it was high season and nothing available. They did give us a some credit for the inconvenience. Which was fair.

I recently stayed three nights at the Holiday Inn in Surfside Beach, SC, and had a great experience. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach with easy access to nearby restaurants and attractions. The font desk staff was outside smoking when we arrived, and was disinterested in us during check-in. Not rude, but not welcoming either. One of the elevators was broken, which happens, but it was pretty grungy. Room was just ok, view was great. The bartender Gov was great as was our breakfast waitress Giana. The food was surprising good as well. We enjoyed everything we ordered.

When I checked in the guy questioned my signature and said is that your real signature let me see your drivers license. I’ve never had that happen to me in my life. Don’t know what in the world that was all about. Then they failed to tell me that because I paid through Expedia there were hotel charges that we’re gonna be charged to the credit card that I put on file so then they charged me Didn’t tell me I had to call and find out what that was in the front deck. Staff are just room except for the one guy that works late at night.

This hotel was right on the beach. The lobby was a little too busy with the restaurant and nightly entertainment, but once we got to our room it was quiet. You can walk to the beach and to the pier, which we loved.
