SureStay Hotel by Best Western Childress

Had to return to my room after breakfast because there was no bathroom available in the lobby/ dining area.

Recent update room was clean, neat, and beds were comfortable. Considerable amount of truck traffic made outside use a little noisy... however noise level in room was better and not quite as noisy.

Clean room, well lit parking, friendly staff.

Decent for one, maybe two nights. Floors were dirty and not swept or mopped. Had family stay in another room and the floors were the same. Beds were too hard, but that’s a personal preference. Staff was friendly and helpful, plethora of parking. Breakfast options were great in my opinion.

This is a motel right off the main highway at a major intersection. We were able to get a first floor room, accessible, and it was easy to access. However, it was not a great place to stay. Doors open to parking lot and are not insulated. Sounds from cars on the road, in the parking lot, and light from outside could be seen through the side and bottom of door. Needs to be restripped all around. Neighbors upstairs can be heard and ours were throwing stuff on the floor (our ceiling) and walking loudly back and forth way past midnight and then again around 3 and 4 am. Heard doors slamming all night. I turned the fan on to help cover the noise, even turned on white noise from my phone but could still hear them and those outside. I could have overlooked all of that had the bed been even the slightest bit comfortable. It's so hard. Our backs hurt when we woke up. The shower was nice and hot. The products in the shower were good. There were not enough towels. Ask for extra wash clothes and a towel for the floor when you check in (if you still want to stay here). We checked out the breakfast. It was average. Yogurt, hard boiled eggs, milk, cereal, bagels, bread for toast, hot waffles, etc.... we grabbed Starbucks across the street and headed to Memphis Texas and had breakfast at the Rock Inn Cafe. Highly recommend eating there! Staff was friendly and check in was quick. Would not stay here again..

very Spacious recently renewed rooms. Clean, Convenient location just off the h/w 287. Good value for money for one night travel stop. One area needs addressing ie un-even stairs to 2nd floor.

Excellent parking, very nice personnel and breakfast was very nicely put out. Would defray here again. Great price too!

Wasn’t prepared for aBest Western property to be just average and not have inside access to rooms. I don’t like having cars parked outside my window.

We were very pleased with our room because it was fairly large and well equipped with the refrigerator and microwave and was very clean. We were able to park our car just outside. The price of the room was just right.

Clean and comfortable rooms, no issues!

Though under renovation, the room was clean and comfortable - until the bugs appeared. There were crickets, roaches, beetles, too gross to describe.

The renovation is great except… We had no hot water in the shower even after letting it run for over 5 mins. The sink had hot water. And the freezer needed to be defrosted and had brown frozen gunk in there.

The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. It was a very nice room and hotel. The only drawback was that it was loud. The doors close loudly. Also you can hear all the people walking around upstairs which made it hard for my dog to relax and sleep.

Bedding was stained. Bath towel was stained. Hand towel was still damp. Table top was dirty.

Front desk person asked if I had a pet and I told her yes, I was traveling with my dog. She then proceeded to tell me about the pet fee, which is fine, I expect this. But then she threatens me that if they find that I have more than one pet they will charge me additional fees and more fees if there is any damages from my pet. I felt very uncomfortable during the check in process because of all of these threats. I travel all the time with my dog and I have never been given so much details of the fees they might charge. It was excessive. The room was marginal at best. Grimy shower, hair & debris behind the door in the bathroom and super uncomfortable bed. 100% would not stay here again.

We ended up leaving at midnight and just continued on our drive because we couldn’t sleep. I’m guessing it was housekeeping rolling carts upstairs that we could hear. The floors were FILTHY. My crawling baby’s legs were black within minutes of being there.

Our room was very clean and in good condition. The front desk staff was very helpful. However, the design of the room is not very user friendly. The lighting is all bright overhead lights - no mellow bedside lamp to relax with. The shower set-up is not good - water splashes out the open end of the shower door, the shower head is overhead and not adjustable, the spray was very fine and sharp feeling on your body, the utility shelf in the shower was very low so you had to stoop to get your items, in order to open the door to the room from inside the bathroom, you either have to step into the shower or straddle the toilet, there were no hooks anywhere to hang clothes or a towel. And the towels themselves felt like sandpaper.

You can hear everything inside the rooms. Large gap at the bottom of the door didn’t help

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room was clean, bed was comfortable! I like that the floor was vinyl!

The property was really clean the staff was really nice there is the noise from the highway and the neighbors you can hear everything opening the doors, talking.

Nice clean place. Love the rain shower and quality shampoo and soaps. Comfy bed with plenty of pillows. Good tv channels. Perfect stay. Thank you Best Western!

We stayed here for one night and thought it was very comfortable. The front desk people were nice and offered a couple of dinner suggestions that turned out to being really good. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were hard, so if you like a softer bed, this isn't it. We didn't have breakfast, but it looked like the standard of waffle, cereal, and bakery items. We would definitely stay again.

Had dog barking in room next to us until after midnight. Clerk said dog belonged to employee. Clerk refused to do anything about it until I called three times. Complained to manager next day, he just stood and looked at me. Will not stay there again!

It is not the safest place to stay, especially for a single woman, but I had no choice. It was late and the last hotel there that would take pets. I will say the staff was more than friendly.!

Convenient to food, gas and hwy access, but lacks ‘bang for the buck’, so to speak.

The water in the shower was luke-warm. There was also pink “mold” around the bathtub. (Not actually mold but a bacteria, Serratia marcescens.) In the breakfast area, there was a sink for hand washing but no soap was available. There was a sign above the sink reminding employees to wash hands using soap! We did not eat breakfast or have coffee before departing.

Clean and comfortable. Shower lukewarm on arrival - better in the morning. Breakfast is minimal. Lots of trucks took off early in the a.m. so not easy to sleep in a bit. Would stay again.
