Disappointed with water park not clearly being off the property. We assumed it was onsite from info & pics provided, but had to take a bus ride. Hard to coordinate with a 1 yr old. And we were shocked at how overwhelming it was walking in to the hotel. The staff who checked us in did not greet us, didn’t ask if we had any questions, and scared us that our room wasn’t available bc we booked thru hotels.com- somehow their confirmation # is different. So I panicked thinking we didn’t have a place to stay. Then we asked the night before check out if we could do late check out so we could do the water park the last day (was told prior to booking that we could do this), and front desk staff said no. We packed everything up and changed our plans and went down to check out and they asked if we’d like to check out late! We had already packed and sent our stuff with bellman and changed our plans for the day. Poor communication. It’s like if it’s your first time there, you’re thrown to the wind. Lastly, there was a Pokemon convention at the adjoining convention center that we were unaware of, and there was a considerable amount of strangeness and non-family friendly characters all throughout the hotel all weekend. We will not be going back. The waterpark was the only redemption.

My only issue was the pre-charges on my card. I had called in advance to check on those, as I know every hotel has them, and I was given a total of the charges for my stay timeline. Then I received a series of "pending holding charges" on my card, and separate amounts on the invoice when I checked out, and told not to worry as the charges would fall off. The other issue is the 65 bar charge I got when I hadn't visited the bar the entire weekend. Why they don't use the room keys instead of relying on someone giving a room number, and then not checking that information, is beyond me, and I have to dispute the claim online, guest desk isn't able to help with that at the actual hotel itself.

First of yes the hotel itself is beautiful and unique, however the operation is exceedingly inefficient. 30-45 minutes easy to get car out of valet The best amenities (lazy river, water slides, etc) require a shuttle ride from the hotel. Definitely not convenient, especially if you have children. Food, just plan on any of the restaurants any time of day having a minimum wait time of 40 minutes to 2 hours…if you can even get in. Outdoor pool onsite was dirty. Indoor pool onsite is small and boring. Activities are difficult to schedule, if you can even get on the list. It was just chaotic and not relaxing at all.

Clean room, friendly staff. We did not use most of the amenities because it was a short stay. Parking for the resort is not free, it was $29 a day.
