Quality Inn Burkeville Hwy 360 & 460

Quality Inn? No, Shoddy Inn. The hotel smelled bad. The carpets were dirty, ripped up & coming off the floor. I’m glad we didn’t have our kids with us. The parking lot has no lighting, which is a safety concern. I only took the elevator once out of concern for our safety. The doors didn’t work properly and the elevator seemed to be struggling to work. We had to kill a bug in our room & there was a dead spider in the bathroom. Never again

I enjoyed the hangout room it was clean and quiet the pool table and darts are funny to play. I like that they have a laundry room on site too.

We have stayed at this property many times and it has consistently gone downhill even after covid. Trash in common areas and hallways stays for multiple days. Trash dumpster outside is overflowing along with a lot of construction laying around, and the property fencing is dilapidated and falling apart. I spilled some coffee in my room and try to clean it with a dampened wash rag on the carpet. Big mistake. I don't know what's in those carpets anymore but apparently it hasn't been cleaned since covid.

The rooms smelled awful and unclean. Smelled very musty in both rooms I reserved. Parking was awful. The spaces weren’t lined so people were parking pretty much anywhere. The complimentary breakfast was awful. It was safe and convenient which is the reason for the 2 stars.

never told me the pool was closed until i checked in!!! paid over full price and then was told the pool was not open because it wasn’t cleaned. it took me 35 mins to get in the room and had a nasty toilet and no remote for the tv and it smelled horrible!!! i’m so mad!!! and cant get a refund either

The room smelled stale and the hallway on the first floor was dark with really worn, outdated carpet on the floor. The pool was filthy and had random fabric office chairs in the pool room. There were old abandoned pool toys left around the pool and the exterior pool door appeared to be broken, open and unsafe. The beds were soft though, no sign of bugs. The common areas were nice, a game room and conference room.

All of the carpet in rooms needs to be replaced it smells even after they put carpet cleaning on it.makes the rooms smell weird and is dirty. Basic minimal breakfast, pool out of order had standing water..

This property need renovation or deep cleaning. Rugs was dirty and bathroom tub sprout broken water in my room kept running when showering. Staff was nice and breakfast was adequate. Gym was clean.

Check in person and staff who tried to fix the tv were very friendly and helpful BUT the rooms were filthy! The walls had multiple scuff marks on them and the door frames as well; the bathroom walls had scuffs, the tile was very dirty, the baseboards had dirt all around them and the ceiling had paint chips missing. In general the bathroom cleanliness looked like a public toilet! We were there from California for a local funeral and wanted to stay close! HOWEVER, despite prepaying for 2 nights we did not return for the 2nd night!!!!

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had as a guest. I woke up with multiple bites, welts, and skin irritation all over my body, including my arms, wrist, stomach, chest, and legs. The itching was severe and uncomfortable, and the marks continued to appear throughout my stay. I also noticed blood spots on the sheets, which is a common sign of bed bugs. I requested to be moved to another room and was told I would “have to wait until later in the day,” even though my condition was getting worse by the hour. I also asked for clean bedding and never received it. What makes this even more disappointing is that I’m a frequent visitor at this hotel. This is my first time experiencing anything like this here, and it was completely unacceptable. The lack of urgency, concern, or proper response from staff was extremely unprofessional—especially for a situation that can seriously affect someone’s health. Because of the itching, swelling, and welts I developed, I now have to seek medical attention and treat the areas that were affected. This stay has caused me inconvenience, discomfort, and unnecessary stress. I am requesting a full refund or compensation for the unsafe and unsanitary conditions I was exposed to. No guest should ever have to deal with bed bugs or leave a hotel in worse condition than they arrived.

The carpets in the hallway were nasty. The sink had hair in it. The tub had stains that looked like fresh dirt. The tub faucet leaked. The grout in the tile was nasty. There were three sheets of toilet paper on the roll when I arrived. The a/c and heat unit had buttons worn off and it took a while to adjust the temperature. There was the tiniest bar of soap in there—never saw one smaller in my life—for a two night stay. No other products were available. The refrigerator freezer was so frosted with ice I couldn’t get anything in it. Glad I brought socks to walk in the room because my socks were black when I took them off. The cereal for breakfast tasted like wood chips. I was supposed to stay two nights but didn’t stay the second night.

They had roaches

The bedding had worn pillowcases and a top sheet not made for a king size bed. The towels and washcloths were dingy, thin, and stained. The carpet was not thoroughly vacuumed any where in the hotel. The coffee maker in our room and the tray it sat on were filthy. I could go on and on. It certainly was not as I expected based on staying there a few years ago. It is a hotel sorely in need of updating and maintenance. One bright spot was the employee who checked us in, provided a missing towel, and came to our room to get the TV working. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name. He was there the afternoon and evening of October 17. We will never stay at this Quality Inn again.

The room was filthy. She sheets and pillows had mud on them, the chair was muddy. They were not accommodating and refused to refund the room.

If I had known the cleanness before booking I would not have stay especially coming from Connecticut for a family reunion… I definitely will go further out than settle and stay closer to my destination… black mold and dirty bathroom.. good thing I travel with cleaning supplies

The concierge was friendly and helpful. The room was clean but looking old. Didn’t like that the hotel was supposed to be smoke free but clearly wasn’t. Our first room smelled like someone had chain smoked in it. Fortunately there was another room available

Nice quiet hotel, near my destination. The room I got on my previous visit was great, however, the one I got this time needs some work! The staff were great, seemed surprized about the problems, and said they would be taken care of... All in all, its a nice place to stay over when you need some rest.. :)

It was simply meh. Everything was clean and relatively new-ish. The breakfast was substandard - nothing but carbohydrates; no fruits, no eggs, bacon, or sausage; just waffles, bagels, toast, and donuts.

Should consider cleaning duvets more often. Maybe a touch of updating, remove carpets possibly. Overall stay was good!

Whenever the heat automatic shuts down it makes a booming noise. Woke up frequently.

Austin was amazing! Attentive, personable, accommodating and efficient. The bed was extremely comfortable. However, the hotel is in need of a major overhaul! The AC was so loud, the TV couldn't be heard over it and when it cut off, the TV was blaring. The remote control didn't work. The pillows are ridiculous; bring back regular sized pillows. The sink lights and fan did not work. There were no handicapped bars in the tub or by the toilet, which was so small it was almost on the floor! As an elderly handicapped person, it was very difficult to attend to my personal needs. When using a toilet paper brand that only has 200 sheets per roll, please leave a spare or two, especially when there was only a quarter roll on the holder. The coffee pot was so old it didn't take pods. What's with 8 oz cups only throughout the hotel?? There was no microwave in the room. The alarm clock kept going off through out the night. Most people have cell phones for alarms. I ended up having to unplug the clock. The soda machine was right next to our room and extremely loud. I thought someone was vacuuming all night! Morning breakfast was not worth mentioning. My suggestion is for the powers that be to stay a night and experience what we did. Oh, BTW, the pool area was unkempt, and not enough seating. I've run out of room, so I won't even mention the other desk personnel. Needless to say, I probably won't be a guest again.

Was clean but never stayed in a motel with that small of tv.And beds are extremely hard and parking is horrible Game room had a few games was ok

We had a good experience staying at this motel. The only drawback was a noisy air conditioner. The motel was clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Also…dog friendly!

I had planned a trip with my three children. I called to inform them that I would have a late check-in around 1am as I had to wait until i was off work to start our 4 hour drive. After arriving I was met by a wonderful guy who made checking in seamless. After getting our items from the car we made our way to our room. We made it to the hall where our room was located when we heard yelling, screaming and fighting. Young teenagers were laying in the floor of the hallway to drunk to stand, the others were stumbling down the halls and beating on the doors to each room. There was around 20 young kids in and out of one room, wandering the halls, and the front area of the hotel.. I called down stairs and told them that this room was not going to work, the front desk clerk quickly moved us to a new room. The room we were moved into had a horrible smell, there was a powder like substance in the safe. While i was trying to get ahold of hotels.com to find a new hotel my two teen girl's tried to take a shower only to find out the hotel had no hot water! There was no resolution offered for this problem, only the statement that some of their rooms were having hot water issues. They refused to refund for both nights until hotels.com got involved. We were able to get a room at the Hampton Inn in Farmville at 2am thanks to the wonderful front desk clerk moving things around. If you are looking for a family friendly facility Hampton Inn and the Tru are what you are looking for!

Staff was kind and helpful. Particularly Austin who was over the top with meeting our needs and ensuring we enjoyed our stay.

Everyone was helpful and pleasant. Nothing to complain about here. Thankful for the affordable stay.

What I didn’t like is that the rooms were not clean well rugs are dirty mold around the bathtub and the entry door into the hotel is filthy and people have to touch the handles to get into it. Next my aunt who is 76 years old, had a broken chair in the room and when she reported it, they said she broke it and kept her incidental fees, which we tried to tell them that that chair was already raggedy and broken so we do a lot of family events down here in Virginia and always recommended this hotel but we will no longer be staying at this hotel.

Poor customer service

Except for a car parked outside my window, which isn’t even a parking spot and blasting its radio for about 20 minutes, I would come back again. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Staff are extremely kind and welcoming. They are what made our experience so great. Our room was exceptionally clean. I'd definitely stay here again if I needed to return to Blackstone.

No place to eat no pool

My stay was very comfortable and convenient. The hotel was simple, could use some sprucing up, towels were clean but very old and thin. Room was quiet and location for me , right in Burkeville was perfect for visiting friends and family.

Had trouble with my tv & key card. The breakfast was a nice welcome. The area felt like it was pretty isolated but check in / check out was quick and easy.

Our room smelled like cat pee from the moment we walked in. I thought it may be because the a/c was not running so the air was stagnant but once that was up and going the smell did not improve. We were too tired to ask if there was another room available. There was only a bar of shower soap, nothing for our hands. The shower was dirty and in desperate need of remodeling. We did not bother showering because we felt like we would end up dirtier. Breakfast was awful-no fresh fruit, no variety. The waffles tasted terrible-like something was mixed wrong. There were no spreads for the bread or bagels(both of which were only plain), plain oatmeal with no toppings and not much else. We spent way too much money for a place that was such poor quality.

Everything was good, not so much the breakfast, but we knew it would be a continental, so we were not expecting the full works. TV, AC and noise level was great! Bed was comfortable.

Our stay at this Quality Inn in Burkeville, VA was very pleasant. Our room was very clean as with the lobby at check-in. We did not venture around so I can’t speak for the pool, laundry, etc. Breakfast was good-they had scrambled eggs, sausage links, bagels, muffins, waffle maker, cereal and milk. One thing to note it that the business next to the hotel(CountrySide Bar & Grill) no longer serves drinks or food-it is only open for “games” and you must have ID and no cell phones allowed per sign. We did not go in but there didn’t seem to be anyone there.
