Just stayed one night and it was perfectly lovely. Really liked the gym… usually get slim pickings from smaller hotels, but they have free weights, kettle bells, treadmill, bike, and even a bosu ball and foam rollers! Clean all around.

The property is very dated in a bad neighborhood. They have to use some odd clicker from the front desk to open the front door and it was not working well. Each time we came of left we had to actually knock on the door to have them open. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was to charge our EV. One charger was open but it was damaged and would not work. You could tell it had been that way a long time. Deferred maintenance. Place had a bad odor. The breakfast was very good and our mattress was great, so it was not all bad. This place needs some work.

Employees are professional and very friendly and helpful. My room was spotless. The pool was closed so that was disappointing. The mattress was a little too hard for my liking and the property had some trash around it but all in all, I would stay here again.

Nice convenient budget friendly clean hotel. Good breakfast in the morning. Wish I had known they had Tesla chargers before staying. If you can get 1 of the 2 spots, it's nice to slow charge while you are there.

The hotel was clean and appealing to the eye. Breakfast was great. The hotel is still under construction so a little noisy in the morning during the week. The pool area looked nice but is very small only accommodates 30 guest max capacity. And laundry area was small with only two out of four machines working. But we would definitely stay here again.

The front desk manager was bright, cheery, and social, as well as knowledgeable. My room was cool and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and the supply was replenished as needed. I did not appreciate that the front doors were locked in the morning as I went to my car to drop my bags and then came to eat because there were many guests in the dining area and I didn’t want to take up the space. Sadly, the bathroom still had hair in the shower, on the toilet, and the floor from the previous occupant. Norfolk could be a frequent stop for me, but I don’t know about this property.

We stayed in room 224. The check in process was smooth. However, upon entering the room we noticed a smell in the bathroom. The smell was most likely coming from the pasture on the ceiling over the toilet. We asked for another room and was informed that they were completely booked for the night. After showering the tub would not stop leaking, so we went to pull the door up. We found ourselves locked out of the bathroom because it sealed itself from the top but was not fully closed at the bottom. The receptionist had to use her body force to get the door open and again apologized for the inconvenience. We later saw multiple hairs in our sheets as if somewhere had already laid there but at this point it was midnight and we just wanted to sleep. The next morning as we were packing our bags to go, we noticed the ceiling in the bathroom leaking over the floor. We again notified the front desk and nothing was done. The customer service here is nice as everybody was nice, and the breakfast was good. However when it comes to cleanliness and safety hazards I have many concerns.

My hotel room was not clean! There were candy wrappers, chip bags, bottles and food particles on the floor under the pullout sofa and behind the headboard, which you can see when laying down on the bed. Oh and the pullout mattress was old and lumpy. Worst sleep of my life. The amount of rust in the bathroom was icky to look at and have to touch. The staff was very friendly and great location for concert and beach goers.

We had to switch our room five times. The first room, was filthy. The bathroom was hair all over the floor food behind the bathroom door some black stuff all over the back of the toilet area stuff splashed underneath the sink some stuff stuck to the wall underneath the sink bathtub was dirty. It was disgusting the air conditioning was so bad that we could not breathe as stuffy. My husband has severe asthma and sinus issues as well as I have sinus issues. They moved us the next day not that night to another room which had the refrigerator was not working and the television didn’t work then they switched us to another room that air conditioning system was the same as the first room was not working well so then they switched us to another room that room. The television didn’t work. Finally the next room where we just had enough, we went into that room. There was water all over in the rug where the air conditioner was you had to keep the air conditioner temperature on 57 in order for it to even work well and then there was bugs in the bathroom and in the room we have videos of the bugs and the way that water was in the room. If you stepped on that rug, your foot got soaking wet. We are now at the emergency room because it’s caused my husband asthma problems, breathing problems. He has a respiratory issue going on now.

This was the worst Hampton that I have ever stayed in. The toilet ran the entire two nights and three days we were there. I called the front desk the first night and asked for somebody to check it, the guy said they were the next morning. No one came so Tuesday afternoon. We called again. The front desk and a gentleman came out and said oh it’s a slow fill toilet and I said it’s been filling for over 29 hours. Then when I drop something on the floor, I went down to get it and realized somebody who was there before us Left a pair of socks under the orange chair that was in the corner of the room. Then in the bathroom, the trashcan liner fell in, and I realize that they never really emptied or clean the trashcan from before, they had just put a new bag over it because there was a razor blade cover a, toilet paper roll, and a few other things still in the bottom of the trashcan. Also, I had gotten a shower the first day and used our towels, and they told us that they only clean the room every other day, so I did not know that I had to call and place an order for towels, so I could get a shower with clean towels for the next day. Even in cheap hotels, I’m used to having clean towels, daily, trash changed daily, just your average tidying up. I will be traveling and I’m sure back to Virginia beach again, due to my son is military there. I can guarantee you I will not be staying in this hotel, even though it is the closest and most convenient hotel to my son‘s apartment.

This hotel is disgusting. We have stayed here 3 times. The first was not good -- dirty and the bathroom sink wouldn't drain. We thought it might be a fluke so tried it again. The second time was passable, so we gave it a third try (location is very convenient). I am sorry we did. The hotel is filthy. Again, our bathroom sink won't drain. There are stains on everything. The carpet hasn't been fully vacuumed. There is a pepper packet and food crumbs on the carpet. We saw a cigarette butt on the hallway floor. The hallway reeks of pot. We have a booking here in 2 weeks for our return journey. We are asking to be refunded for that stay and the hotel has refused. I find that unacceptable. A $175 room rate is absurd for what we are getting. I'm not even asking to be refunded for this stay, just not to be charged for a future one.

The 4th floor room i originally had, 405 was SO muggy & humid I couldn't bare it. I tried adjusting the thermostat and even left the room for hours to come back to the same conditions. The front desk staff was gracious and immediately changed my room. The 3rd floor room was better but still so humid that the sheets felt damp. I couldn't get comfortable and needless to say i didn't sleep well. The water pressure in the shower was so weak that a "quick shower" turned into a prolonged shower that had the room extra humid.

Room was very small, no desk, no chair, poor lighting. No storage space. Curtains were jammed, could not open them. Breakfast was extremely poor - the cost cutting continues apace. Have had good experiences at Hampton Inns in the past but will think twice about staying in one in future.

Room curtain wouldn't open, refrigerator frozen and covered in ice. Chair stained, sink in bathroom leaked whenever water turned on. Front desk person said she would change my room and apologized. Room inspections of two other rooms uncovered similar conditions. Was advised hotel will be undergoing makeover and was apologized two again.

Room seemed very old and no updated. Multiple spots of holes looked like from water damage in the ceiling. Room AC would not work to maintain a temperature for longer than 1 hour. There was a cheap surge protector plugged in directly behind the bed (under the head board) into which the 2 bedside lamps were plugged; the issue was that it was not a flat plug and the bed pushed right up against it, working the plug out of the outlet eventually causing the lights to flicker and then it seems unsafe to have a piece of furniture pushed directly up against a plug hanging partially out of an outlet. The automatic window blinds were missing the controller and unable to be opened. I was solicited by homeless people outside of the hotel that became verbally aggressive and insulting when ignored; does not seem to be much emphasis on safety around the hotel grounds.
Room seemed very old and no updated. Multiple spots of holes looked like from water damage in the ceiling. Room AC would not work to maintain a temperature for longer than 1 hour. There was a cheap surge protector plugged in directly behind the bed (under the head board) into which the 2 bedside lamps were plugged; the issue was that it was not a flat plug and the bed pushed right up against it, working the plug out of the outlet eventually causing the lights to flicker and then it seems unsafe to have a piece of furniture pushed directly up against a plug hanging partially out of an outlet. The automatic window blinds were missing the controller and unable to be opened. All of the room doors are set up so they swing shut and **slam** really loudly. Makes sleeping in the morning very difficult when there are early risers with their door slamming up and down the floor. We won't be staying here again.

I travel at least 7 nights a month, and this by far is the worst experience I’ve ever had. The front desk person on duty the night of May 24, 2025 at 1:45am was terrible. We waited and waited outside for a long time. Ringing the bell and calling. When she finally opened the door, I made a comment to the affect of “maybe she was sleeping?” To my kids and husband because she took so long. It was supposed to be funny, but she heard part of it and wanted to fight me. A 58 year old who rented two rooms. Then another man wasn’t getting let in. When she finally buzzed him in she said,”sweetheart, can’t you read?” My jaw dropped when I heard her treat a customer that way. By far the rudest person I’ve ever come across. Ever. Dirty sheets on sofa bed- it’s broken.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I especially liked the breakfast chef who cared about providing good food choices. My room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Refrigerator was noisy and clock on microwave couldn't be corrected but those were minor issues.

General Manager Nick and associate Tara were extremely helpful. Checking in later during a holiday weekend, these two worked to assist us with resolving an issue with our credit union. Both were friendly, understand, and advocated for us in an effort to get the matter resolved. We were greeted daily by staff who remembered our names, which was refreshing. It was impressive to see a working General Manager, who jumped in to assist staff meeting the needs.

The check in was great. The lady helping check in was super nice and very helpful. She made sure we got what we needed and helped get me an extra blanket to cover the bed for the dogs. The only negative was when we walkes the dogs out the side door, we kept smelling a very strong odor of marijuana. The first night the police were there on our floor but not sure what that was about.

Staff was A-maxing! Everyone staff member was sure to greet us. We had an issue with remote fixed in less than five minutes. We thought the key wasn’t working someone was there in seconds to help us. Breakfast was great! I would stay again for sure. Topgolf was like 3 minutes away.

And I would not rate the quality of the hotel and rooms at four stars, but I would definitely stay here again because the staff was so accommodating, helpful, responsive, and cheerful. This property is very convenient and right on the Norfolk / Virginia Beach border. The parking lot lighting is very poor as I like parking close to or under lighting for safety but evidently none are working? Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Staff are accommodating and pleasant. Issue will room key not allowing me back into room after run down stairs for coffee but gentleman “Rob” assisted me to “re-key” the room key.

We stayed here for 2 days. This is the safe and quiet place. We loved the breakfast here. Also this is the best place to stay and nearest to botanical garden, downtown and 20 mins from Virginia Beach. Hotel staff is excellent. Each morning we used to get text message to. Heck if we need anything.

Room was very clean and the bed was almost perfect for softness. On a scale of 1 to 5 for firmness with 1 being really hard and 5 being super soft this was about a 3 or 3.5. Several areas were being renovated which we were there but the crews didnt start until mid morning so our sleep wasn't interrupted as were working late nights and sleeping in in the morning. The breakfast are was one of the areas under renovation so breakfast was being served in the lobby but they still had a good selection of hot and cold food and enough tables for everyone. We will be return to Virginia Beach soon for work and most likely be staying here again

Very Clean and in great condition. Large TV but a lot of stations seemed like weak signals. They would come in and out. I didn’t ask for help though just stuck with channels that were more clear. Breakfast was just ok. I’m a bit of a foodie and the eggs were not very good but they really never are these type of Hotel chains. They had a waffle station and those were good. I would definitely stay again anytime though since the accommodations were outstanding.

Overall my stay was very good. Matt was friendly, very accomodating and professional upon our arrival. The room that we stayed in #230 was clean and comfortable. The bathroom needs a bit of an upgrade. A couple holes in the walls and a very noisy, barely functioning fan were our only gripes. The breakfasts provided on both days were spectacular. Kudos to the cooks/chefs who provided us with meals. Service was on time and efficient. Checkout was quick and easy.

We were suppose to have room service on Saturday but never got it. I was a little uncomfortable with some of the guest. You could tell it was a prostitution transaction taking place. The hotel was a total letdown to what we are accustomed to. I’ll never stay at another Hampton inn again! There was a bug on the wall. Bed sheet was ripped on the bed, and the bathroom sink kept filling up while we washed our face, and brushed our teeth. I was so tempted to get the room switched. But since it was for only 1 day we stuck it out. I thought since it was a sister hotel of Hilton we thought it would be the standard of the Hilton name. Boy were we wrong! We woke up, got dressed and got far away from that dump. We didn’t care the breakfast was included. No way were we eating at a place like that.
