Fairbanks Inn

Easy check in and accommodating staff. I could park right at my door. Room was basic but clean and the bed comfy. Fairbanks Inn was perfect for a stopover night after a long day of driving.

A little elbow grease and a can of paint would work wonders on this place. I reserved a handicap accessible room, but they put us on second floor with no elevator. My husband made due, but it wasn’t what was reserved.

I was good. The rooms were very large and extremely clean. The only thing I was disappointed that the pool was not open. Still had work to be done. I think it would be nice for Expedia to update things like this. Otherwise I would’ve stayed somewhere with a pool being that it was so so hot

The rooms was large and had a nice balcony to sit and listen to the river. The property is very dark at night as is most of the area. There was a weird stench in our room that smelled like urine. I don't know if it was pet or human but it was STRONG. The poor kid at the front is doing most of the work himself. The back preparation areas are quite messy and you can tell there is no one there to organize and clean the front office. Furniture was dingy and stinky and the bed was super hard but for the night it made due. The breakfast is quite scarce and minimal. The juice is colored water and there was bagels, bread, peanut butter and cream cheese ...cold cereal and coffee. That was all. I think there was a dog thing going on because this property had all elderly folks and dogs. We stayed one night and we had to get a lower level because this property is not equipped with any elevators to get to the second level and we had HUGE bags we could not carry up two flights of stairs.

Need chairs for the balconies for each room.

I was looking forwards to the motel's advertised pool after a drive of five hours, only to be told that it was closed and had been for the entire season. When this is the property's main attraction, it kind of seems like something about which the inn should have notified Expedia!

View nice balcony needs work and seating horrible. Room clean but had floor old broken AC and new on wall. Hair dryer broken. Cheap mattresses.

After making reservation they inform you that the A/C is broken in all units and the pool is non-functioning. Also, painting the parking lot and they make you move your car at different times during the day.

Facility was old and tired. TV had to be setup (Roku) to get working. Very minimal breakfast, no eggs. Parking lot had holes and was recently tarred so very smelly.

Close to Lamoille valley rail trail. Nice outdoor pool. St Johnsbury depressed town with no real restaurants open on Saturday night. Deserted and businesses closed and shuttered

This place was just weird and run down. Lobby and breakfast area were grungy and unwelcoming. Person who checked us in was creepy. The room was large, but it was set up oddly. Lots of chipping paint on baseboards, shredded carpet, light bulbs out, mattresses might as well have been prison-issue, massive cobwebs, etc.. You can hear everything from surrounding rooms. It was a total waste of $300.

The room was not clean, it had a bad odor. There was no closet or rack to hang clothes.

Clean, good beds and bathrooms. Overall perfectly nice stay.

The room was filthy. Mirrors were not clean. Sinks, and counters were disgusting, I had old gum on my nightstand. The latch to keep you safe inside your room was busted off and not replaced, cracks in the floors full of hair and dirt, splatters on the wall, bed was hard as a rock, like sleeping on a box spring. Place was absolutely disgusting.

The room does not meet the standards of cleanliness that most people expect. The door to the deck wasn't clean and had many spider webs. Good thing the staff is friendly and responsive.

Found what turned out to be baby roaches that had hatched in the box of tissues in the room. This happened in the morning as we were getting ready to leave otherwise we would not have stayed. Showed the tissues with egg sack and pictures to staff, but never heard anything back from management.

We have never been so disappointed and disgusted by a motel where we stayed. There were so many things wrong in this motel room that I will need to list them. 1. The shower curtain was completely moldy at the bottom. 2. The shower did not drain properly. 3. The shower rod was rusted. 4. The towel racks in the bathroom were clean on one end and caked with dust on the other. 5. The bathroom sink was missing the drain stopper, which was sitting in the corner of the bathroom counter. 6. The sink and front panel of the sink were dirty with stains and spills 7. The toilet did not flush properly. 8. The safety latch on the door was broken. 9. The corner of the floor at the entrance of the room was chipped off. 10. The ceiling panel in the closet area had severe water damage where the tile was brown with stains. 11. The entire room was dusty and dirty 12. The microwave was filthy inside. 13. Refrigerator was not working. 14. When we inspected the beds on arriving, we found two little hairs on one bedsheet. 15. There was a fly, mosquito, and gnats in the room. 16. The sliding glass doors to go out on the balcony were covered with fingerprints and streaks of unknown substance. As you can see, we did not feel comfortable in that room. My brother refused to take a shower because of the moldy shower curtain and could not use the microwave due to the lack of cleanliness. With all of these listed complaints, I would give this motel a rating of zero.

The rooms are quite spacious, comfortable and clean. Room with Mountain View was very quiet, breakfast not so great.

We loved staying at the Fairbanks Inn. The rooms are huge and perfect for us and out two dogs. The property is nicely kept up and is appealing. The owners are wonderful, helpful, and super friendly.

The balcony with a view of the pool was delightful!!

Overpriced because of the season. I would not pay more than $100 a night to stay here. No frills. Motel quality. Hard mattresses. Everything feels cheap and budget. It’s a place to lay your head, that’s it.

Old. Needs updating desperately. Room was clean, but ac was broken, and sliding door to balcony had no screen. When calling front desk, phone didn’t work, and couch in room was stained. Room smelled like smoke even though it is supposed to be a smoke free property. No room change was offered and it was a short overnight stay as we were visiting Dog Mountain or I would have insisted on switching rooms. I would not stay here again.

The hotel is situated on a large lot with views of the hills and lawn. The room was large and updated, but left to run down. Plugs didn't work, holes in the screen that had tape over them. The furniture is scuffy and an apparant dog made huge scratches on the bathroom door. It's as if there is no maintance person at this hotel to continue with the updating efforts.

Room was clean and location was convenient. Couldn’t get the internet to work before we left and breakfast was just starch, and was mostly empty when we went down halfway through. Staff were all friendly though and refilled as best they could after a few minutes

The front desk person was rude. He made me feel unwelcome Based on all the other factors I would return to this facility. But based on my encounter with the front desk,I will find other accommodations next time

Quick and efficient check in. Very helpful receptionist.

Rude desk clerk. No instructions on how to operate heating system. Unattractive, dated furnishings. Overall, a bit depressing. We felt it was unacceptable and left for a different hotel despite the fact that we lost our rental fee.

The counter person was very unprofessional. On two different occasions he was rude and discourteous. He used profanity and gave a terrible first impression.

We stayed here for first night in St. Johnsbury. It was a great location with clean, comfortable, basic rooms and a friendly and helpful staff.

Spacious rooms although outdated decor. Very clean. Breakfast choices were limited. No eggs or yogurt but did have a waffle machine. I would definitely stay here again.

Our 3nd stay here over a 3 week period. We had to carry our luggage of which we travel with a lot) a short distance from the car to our front ground floor room. We requested a ground floor and we were provided with one. It took a while to check-in since the desk attendant was pre-occupied during the 3 pm check-in. The room has a wonderful balcony to oversee the back, but no deck chairs to sit on. Breakfast was worse then the last time. Just bread/bagels, butter, and grape jam. No cream cheese or a variety of jams. They also offer waffles and some fruit. This Inn could off a bit more variety.

Nice clerk at front desk. Not much available for breakfast. I ate white toast. Would like whole wheat bread. I do not like all the sweet stuff they had.

An average place, great for people on a budget, huge rooms. Breakfast left quite a bit to be desired, 2 cereal optoins, 2 fruit options, and some bagels.

Pretty much no breakfast options

Very nice Inn, but a bit pricey for what you get, The A/C was out in our King Room, but we accepted a twin double room at the king bed price. The problems with booking via expedia. The breakfast was dismal. Not much to offer for the price. No restaurants near by and nothing open on the Tuesday when we were there. The staff member at the desk though was very friendly and helpful.

Carpet was not clean. Facility is in need of renovation. Key card had to be replaced several times. Heat pump and TV were not user-friendly. Built-in lights for reading did not work. Staff had excuses but no fixes. Housekeeping was sporadic at best. Breakfast was limited to cereal, muffins, and "make your own" waffles. Coffee was frequently empty.

I was disappointed that breakfast was not avaiable at this lication when it mentions that it was. This was also the reason i chose this location.
