Best Western Plus Oak Harbor Hotel & Conference Center

I was traveling with my dog, and the staff made sure I had a room with sliding door access to the spacious backyard area with grass, benches etc. They also presented my pup with a gift bag of treats and a tennis ball!

Clean Pool. Large Hot Tub, Clean Room, good breakfast and coffee, clean breakfast area. Pleasantly surprised by Best Western

Jets in the hot tub were not working let the desk know first night and was told maybe they needed to reset them said it happens quite a bit , the second night the same thing I got the distinct feeling they knew they didn't work !! The picture on television in our room was blurry to the point it was hard to enjoy and had my reservation not been prepaid thru Travelocity I would have asked for a refund for the second night and went else ware . Television and hot tub are always a mandatory when I consider a stay and this one missed the mark

I liked that they offered refreshments in the lobby.

Unexpected pet fees that were quite high and based on per animal and not just a overall pet fee. Breakfast was very quite simple, waffles, eggs and sausage. Hot tub was clean, pool was quite small but usable.

Loved the hotel, front desk was nice. But terrible breakfast. No fruit, no sausage or bacon. Also no laundry. That was really inconvenient.

Friendly staff, large rooms and comfy beds. Nothing too fancy but they do what they do very well. Free breakfast was nice and we really appreciated the onsite EV charging station

The smells... my room smelled like someone cooked gried food. Outside had an odd pungent smell when the wind blew a certain direction. My bathroom floor was sticky. I didn't feel comfortable asking housekeeping to clean again so i did it myself. Floor was very dirty. The front desk and breakfast staff was wonderful! Each staff member i ran across was very kind and greeted me with a smile and kind word. Breakfast was okay.

Staff was extremely nice and very helpful. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Carpet and decor could use some updating. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

The carpets leave a black stain on your feet after walking in them in the room. The pool is great for kids learning to swim with the ramp!

All areas of the hotel, public spaces and the room itself were extremely clean. The beds and bedding were comfortable. The front desk staff was exceptionally kind and went out of their way when we asked for a few personal items that we forgot to pack. Plus they gave our service pup a very sweet welcome gift. Great location, very close to Deception Pass.

Bathroom in need of updating. Bath liquids were missing. One bottle was there, but was empty and the bottle plunger was broken off. The other bottle was missing. The towels were the thinnest I have ever used in any hotel. I travelled for a living for over 20 years. I like this hotel, but updating is needed. The breakfast room was a waste of time.

I always stay here when visiting Oak Harbor for family purposes. My first stay was poaitive so i continuebto stay there. This visit was also good bur i had several hiccups with my room. The door lock had to be fixed a few hours after checking in because it stopped locking the dor behind me. The lock needed to be adjusted in the door itself. There was also a huge hairball stuck in the bathroom sink. The top of the sink stopper was almost completely twisted off when I checked it out and i find it difficult to believe the housekeeper disnt notice the water not going down. I told the maintenance person about it when he fixed the lock and said he could come back in the morning to take care of it as it was already evening. They did come take care of it the next day, and it must've been complicated as it looked like they had to take apart the plumbing underneath to clear it. I couls tell b2caise the maintenance pwrson left all kinds of brown splatters against the wall under the sink, as well as a bunchnof nasty brown streaks inside the sink because he didnt clean up sfter he finished. This was upsetting to me really only for the lack of effort. Im in the industry. I do maintenance and repairs too, amongst other things. I would never make a mess in an occupied room and not clean it up or have housekeeping come after me. I thought it was unfortunate that my expectations on the followup were not met. Room was clean although no room cleaning our first day. Friendly and helpful staff at the Front Desk, special thanks to Debbie! I wish you could have water bottles so we can buy, you do have a water fountain in the front desk but super inconvenient for guests. Also the vending machine - drinks only had 2 drinks.

This is wooden building with poor accoustical properties, you will hear th next door neighbor snore and the neighbor above walk on the floor and using the toilet, noisy plumbing, wear your earplugs to sleep

Staff were very friendly. Room was spacious & clean. Goid location. My room had s sliding door out the back to the great dog area.

Rooms need update. For a flat screen tv, picture was horrible. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Housekeep was aggressive ans borderline rude.

2 of the lamps in our room didn’t work, no information about breakfast or Wi-Fi was given, the tap in the bathtub had an issue, no option for browsing channels on the remote, closed captioning option on the remote didn’t work, got up early for breakfast and there was one apple and a bunch of junk breakfast. Bare minimum given for guests. It was clean but definitely not worth $250 a night. Pretty disappointed.

Only thing I wish it had was smart TV to watch Hulu, Netflix ect. Especially on cold, rainy, windy days.

The staff member who checked us in was very friendly so our stay started off great! I completely missed (not sure how!!) that the pool was outside but fortunately the weather cooperated so we were still able to go for a swim. Beds were comfortable and even though the hotel is close to the road the rooms were very quiet. Breakfast was okay but appreciated it was included.

Could hear everything outside of our room. Kids running around the halls After 10 at night some party noise.

It was okay, but for the price I would expect much better. The bed was not good, it was very hard and I did not sleep well on it.

Very clean. Internet access was very spotty and you have to call an 800 number to get wifi access. Was unable to access free wifi so burned through cellular data on this stay. Highly recommend this hotel but will likely look elsewhere for my next stay due to the wifi issues.

The staff was super kind and accommodating. I stayed twice on either end of a busy weekend, and they seemed to have everything in order for us both times. Bonus points for having an extra small phillips screwdriver for me to borrow in a pinch. And a USB charger plug thingy. Another place i like to stay has alarm clocks that have USB ports for charging, which would be handy in the future but no pointa lost for ME being unprepared. 😝

The staff was very friendly and helpful offering suggestions as placed to see and eat. We loved having fresh coffee available anytime day or night.

Since I didn't fully check in, I cannot speak to the room or other amenities. I will assume that anything beyond the initial interaction with hotel staff would have been fine. My issues are with hotel staff. Eric the GM was on duty at the front desk and gave likely the worst experience I've had with hotel personnel. He wasn't particular rude or anything but exceedingly unaccommodating. Like he wasn't interested in being there or helping anyone. My initial request to check in early was met with resistance, which is fine. I understand that it can be difficult to fulfill with room turn-around times. But when I asked if I could use a lobby restroom, I was informed that they don't have a public restroom. No other solution was provided. Just a simple "we don't have a public restroom" as if I was making this request at a gift shop or something. The last straw for me was when I asked if they could hold my luggage until my check-in (a standard, common request). Eric said, "Well how big is it because we don't have a lot of space back here." It baffles me that this would be an acceptable response from a hotel. It was because of Eric that I cancelled my reservation. It was worth losing the money I paid. To anyone travelling to Whidbey Island, I would highly recommend the Swinomish Casino. The rooms are actually cheaper and the staff significantly more customer focused. They not only accommodated my early check-in request but they even offered to store my luggage.

There was a slight mix up w the reservation. When we brought it to the attention of the front desk, the manager went above and beyond to rectify the issue and upgraded our room at no additional charge We prefer to stay at Best Western's, our experience and way we are treated are usually top notch.

We stayed there for one night and requested a late check-out. The woman from the desk said yes. She was accommodating, understanding, and very welcoming. She explained there is a charge for a late check-out. We said no problem, and agreed to it. The next morning, at 11:30, we got a phone call. We were sleeping, and then we heard the phone. They hung up. We got a knock on the door, and our dog barked. We went to the door. No one was there. We were then called on our cell phone. We were harassed by a different front desk woman, as there were no notes about our late check-out. She was rude and abrupt. Very aggressive. We decided to leave, as it was 11:45 am. Would not recommend this property to anyone. Walls are so thin that you can hear everything.

We only stayed overnight, so I can't say a lot, but my room was quiet and clean - I have no complaints about it. The night clerk who checked us in was helpful - I appreciated that he could give me a couple of complementary Advil pills when I asked for something for pain relief. (I'd hurt my foot while hiking.) Also, in the morning, a staff member opened up the board room for my party of 5 when I told him that none of the tables in the breakfast room were big enough to accommodate us. We appreciated that gesture. My only complaint is the same for almost all hotels - the scrambled eggs were way too salty. I was glad to replace them with plain hard-boiled eggs, which were also available in the breakfast room.

Staff locked me out of the room with my Handicap Son inside who could not even get to the door to open it.

Easy access to other areas of Whidbey Island

Best Westerns tend to be overpriced for what they are in my opinion but this looked like the best option in Oak Harbor by far. It was extremely quiet and the staff was wonderful.

The Best Western Plus Oak Harbor is a nice clean hotel with very helpful staff. The staff gave us a great restaurants list and all restaurants that we tried were very good. The hotel’s breakfast includes a good variety of hot and cold foods. The hotel is located a short drive to Old Town Oak Harbor shopping and restaurants and and is 20 minutes or so from Deception Pass, Fort Casey, the Northwest naval air museum, and the beautiful Coupeville.

This hotel is a little removed from town but has plenty of dining options close by. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming

Nice little place to stay for nearby sightseeing. Oak harbor is nice little town and this hotel is in the middle. It was close to main street. Many dining option, clean room. Breakfast was okay. One think I don't like was restroom fan was too loud when light is on and pool is too small. My stay was good. I will recommend this place.

Very conveniently located, clean, staff were nice, lots of parking.

This Best Western Plus was conveniently located near Deception Pass which we were spending time at. Check in was a breeze and the room was clean and tidy. There is plenty of parking and the staff was very nice. The Chinese restaurant in the parking lot was convenient as well for a meal.

The location is perfect as a jumping off point for Deception Pass State Park, kayaking there, and whale watching from Anacortes marina. I don't know why anyone would stay anywhere else. The place is clean and staff are competent and gracious.

Parking area seemed safe. The staff was helpful and expeditious. Property grounds are mediocre. Eating establishments are limited and require transportation unless you are a fast food fan. Breakfast service was efficient but nothing to write home about unless you like gravy. “Juice” seemed to be some sort of koolaid.

The staff were excellent. Very helpful, polite. Breakfast was standard, no-frills, basic choices. No menu. The food was good, the staff kept the counters clean, constantly checking the food in the serving trays. Floor and tables clean. A very enjoyable stay.
