Royalton Negril, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort

Overall, our stay was great. There were a few maintenance issues in the room with the electrical circuiting and water pressure in the shower. The resort could use some updating, but the cleaning staff did a consistent and thorough job. Our room was close to the stage, which made it very loud at night. Others in our group received an upgraded oceanfront room and didn’t experience the same noise issue. Dining options were fantastic — the food was delicious, and the servers at both the buffet and à la carte restaurants were excellent. A couple of suggestions: keep the activities board accurate to the day’s events, as there were some discrepancies. On a positive note, the gym was very well-kept, with new equipment and a great Royalton FIT team.

Not as advertised. While the staff was friendly and accommodating the facilities are in terrible condition. The pool chairs and cabanas are falling apart and not in any condition to be utilized with mold and bird feces coving them. Everywhere you turn there is something broken and falling apart. There seems to have been zero upkeep on the location since it was established. It’s impossible to make dinner reservations anywhere and as a family of 6 with two teens we booked a suite and it consisted of 1 kind bed and two tiny pull out couches. The food was subpar. Will not return.

Property has a beautiful beach , clean no sea weed, the personal at the resort was very professional, respectful, our butlers , five star ,,,, Susan, Kirk , and the man at the beach cabanas Anthony , five stars,,,,, we traveled with family and this property has it all ,,,,,, good food ,,, amazing calm, clear water , beautiful resort,,,,,,,,,,

The property’s up keep is pretty worn down. I was surprised by the building mildew and paint chipping away. We had the swim up room and though they did a wonderful job at decorating, our AC did not work. It was 71% humidity outside. They fixed it the next day. We ran into a few workers that were nice but majority seemed unhappy. We were ignored several times and one time at the Jerk Hut the lady chopping the chicken was down right rude to everyone. We all looked at each other like what is her problem? I’m not saying everyone needs to be super cheerful but people pay a lot of money to have a vacation, be nice. Be professional. This did not happen at the last resort I stayed at in Falmouth. They were much nicer. However, I loved the SwimUp room facing the beach. Very spacious and room service for food and etc was great. They’d come right down. I also liked they had a variety of food to choose from. However it was like the resort didn’t have AC. The buffet was so dangerous (I’m not exaggerating) the humidity created the marble floors to be wet. People were sliding. The cheeses would be stuck together. A lady said they were working on it. At the hibachi dinner (different building than the buffet) a entire group left because it was too hot to be by a grill. We would have left too but we were hungry and wanted to stick to our reservation. I give the resort a 6/10 and the room 9/10, service 5/10. And oh! The drinks were super watered down! You have to ask to make them strong.

The most beautiful beach!

Didn't like the fact that you pay so much money, and whe I you need a towel for the beach, none was available. In the dining room at the windows seats, there are fly on the windowsill. That is not luxury.

Everything was great except the power outage

Our stay was great. The staff is very well trained, friendly, courteous and helpful. The front desk made daily calls to check on us. Two staff members, in particular, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable (we were on our honeymoon), Chantae and Natasha - they are true gems and should be promoted and kept at all costs. The room was clean and in good condition, and the housekeeping did an excellent job. The property is immaculate. A few areas were seen with yellow caution tape, warning guests of minor construction in progress, but that is to be expected at a property that is open year-round. The food was good - please book dinner reservations way in advance, as they book out quickly. The buffet was better than expected. Everything was well-prepared and tasty (for the most part). Nightly entertainment on the property kept us thoroughly entertained - from dance presentations to silent dancehall parties, and we were never bored. The gym is decently equipped, however, it needs more benches. The spa is a must-visit! It is luxurious with highly competent staff. All in all, a memorable stay. Thanks, Royalton.

Great location, beautiful beach and friendly staff. However property needs maintenance. The ac wasn't working properly. I called maintenance 4 times and they reprogrammed the thermostat but it didn't resolve and then I gave up. Only place with good ac was the restroom at the diamond grill. Hot tub also wasn't working for the whole 5 days I was there. Diamond club. Lounge didn't have much in terms of food and snacks. Dining was hit or miss and it was very slow. Buffet has many options but it was mediocre.

The nursing staff had to be used and was fantastic. However, there were enough issues with this resort that I would not choose to return. Not enough chairs at the beach or pool for all of the guests. Ran out of alcohol and basic drinks like Diet Coke at the pool bar and other bars on multiple days of our seven day stay. Missing items in the restaurant depending on the day. One day no spoons, another day no napkins, no ketchup etc.

Most of the staff were rude, outdated facilities and room was dirty. Room had a stench requested a room change. No one from the hotel got back to me in reference to the room swap.

No hot water for more than half the stay. Roaches in rooms/dining areas. Room service over 90 minute wait. Fridge in room is hot. Nothing like other Royalton properties. This one is a disgrace.

I was so so disappointed about this hotel .i travel all around the world but this one was the worst .the staffs was so unprofessional they just dont care to work.the had the biggest roach.i took pic.my room got flooded. I reported it and no one can to assit us .this was my brithday weekend. It was a discount.

The resort was beautiful. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Everything was clean and well maintained. Our house keeper Shanika and our Expedia concierge Chantae went above and beyond to make this stay perfect! First time visiting but will not be our last. There were vast food options and entertainment daily. Highly recommended.

The resort’s welcoming check in on staff were hospitable and gracious with the exception of a few disgruntled ground staffers. Leon, who transported me to my swim out room was thoughtful and gracious. Sherika who assisted me at breakfast was a sheer joy to meet! The property deserves a thorough renovation of sorts concerning the cleanliness of the shower glasses, the showers themselves, the cleaning & updating of the dated furniture in the room, the toilet (had a misfitted toilet seat), the swim out patio deserved maintenance & detailed care, the walls deserved a proper professional smoothing attention to it’s resurfacing of the walls, the shrubbery deserved manicuring low enough to see the ocean view the advertisement boasted about. The gardeners were welcoming and offered informative information about the flowers and trees when asked, which was another highlight of my overall relaxing few days getaway. The food of main resort (including the room service) lacked proper presentation & variety of food selections as most resorts offer and lacked sumptuous taste enough to enjoy the all-inclusive dining experience, if desired instead of dining at the resorts other restaurants. The resort is beautiful. However, the resort deserves the care to detailed renovations to encourage resort visitors coming back for more! Sadly, I will not be one of these visitors.

I had a 5-night stay at Royalton Negril. The positives were that most of the staff were polite and helpful, the food at the buffet was good in most cases albeit repetitive, and the housekeeper we had on most of the days was pleasant and attentive when tidying our room. Scoops and Calypso were also good (skip Zen). There were a few off-putting instances. There was one day when I had to call 3 times to get our room serviced as the garbage needed to be emptied, we had no toilet paper and no clean towels. It was almost 5pm before a team of 3 showed up (not the regular housekeeper but the turn down service team) and they were so sloppy and rushed to the point where as they were leaving I had to point out to them that they still had not provided toilet paper or towels. One promised to return with said items and that's the last time I saw her. I had to call yet again and wait another hour for these basic items to be provided. I also noticed areas where the overall attention to detail and cleanliness was lacking. Our neighbors had put their room service plates and empty beer cans in the hallway on the second day of our stay, and THREE days later, the dirty plates were still there! In the buffet restaurant, the napkins used during dinner service were so threadbare or tattered, so clearly no one is paying attention to or caring about the condition. It's the little things that speak volumes. You can't bill as a luxury resort and provide a subpar product. I wouldn't stay here again.

I had high expectations for the Royalton Negril, especially given its reputation and premium pricing, but our one-night stay was anything but relaxing. It was meant to be the grand finale of a great vacation, yet it turned out to be the most stressful part of the trip. Check-in was a nightmare. We arrived just before 1 PM and spent over 45 minutes waiting at the front desk. Though we were told both rooms would be ready by 3 PM, we didn’t get access to our second room until after 6 PM—over three hours late. Even worse, the delay was blamed on missing pillowcases and then "lost paperwork," which forced us to redo the check in paperwork, dragging the process out even longer. We ended up missing a planned excursion because of the delays. The condition of the rooms was shocking. Rooms had a foul odor in the bathroom, like raw sewage, and the mini-fridge smelled of mold. The sink was clogged, and water was leaking from a light fixture above, posing a clear safety hazard. Cups were dirty, and the bedding had stains and hair on it—totally unacceptable at any hotel, let alone a resort at this price point. To top it off, during checkout we were told—again—that our room records were missing. We had to fill out paperwork for a third time, making us late for our shuttle to the airport. In short, the Royalton Negril failed at the basics: cleanliness, organization, and guest service. This was the most disorganized hotel experience I’ve had in yea

I payed for the swim up room and it wasn’t clean therefore I didn’t utilize it. I informed housekeeping and the front desk. The towels was limited as I requested wash rags twice and never got them. We checked in on Thursday sheets never changed bed was just made on a daily. The cafe in the lobby had roaches in the display with food. I advise the workers and they said okay and kept working. The place was beautiful but I can’t say it was worth $2800 for one room

This was the worst experience. My room had roaches, the staff were unwilling to help I had to complain every day, take pictures and show them video and they finally changed my room at 7pm on my last night. Rooms were also not properly cleaned and had a mildew smell. Could not use swim up pool because it was too cold.

Beautiful property but not very clean. My room was never properly cleaned, I didn't have towels/wash cloths. My pool was dirty and had cups left over from previous guest. The restaurants and food was very tasteful except for the Zen hibachi restaurant...The restaurant was very smoking and i was coughing throughout dinner.

For a luxury hotel, I’m not sure Royalton Negril fits this category. Upon arrival, the check-in process was very smooth the reception team were all very professional, friendly and knowledgable. The room was not cleaned well: the showers, bathroom and floors felt dirty. The swim out terrace area was not cleaned: the loungers, chairs, cushions and floor area were not cleaned when we arrived and were consistently dirty during our stay. We had requested a “mostly sunny” swim up suite and there was barely any sun at our pool. The whole purpose of paying extra for a swim up suite is to enjoy the privacy of having our own pool area (with sunshine) when needed. The restaurant food is very average (the jerk “chicken” hut was delicious and the food truck was also pretty good. The alcoholic drinks were not good, the quality of alcohol (and food) was not “luxury hotel” standards, and some drinks were not even drinkable. The Vibes team and the Water activities team did GREAT and worked very hard to make sure people were having a great time. The sailing instructor (white sunglasses) was fantastic. The grounds are ok but majority of the hotel (including diamond club) faces north and east, They clearly have nicer, more lush grounds (and suites) at the Hideaway and Great Lido side - which are both adults only. The drive is one hour from the airport, so I really expected more wow. The hotel was not cheap but it felt cheap, not luxurious. It was not worth the hour drive.

This resort is definitely worth the money. It was just what me and my husband needed. Relaxing and quiet. It’s a place to bring your family. They have entertainment but it’s not an all night party which is what we were looking for. Our room was great nice and comfortable with the swim out pool. Amazing.

Awesome room, great staff, excellent beach view.

We had a swim out in building 2 with a view of the beach and ocean. It was quiet and the perfect spot. The only fault was that it was extremely humid at night and the restaurants and sports bar although air conditioned had the glass doors open to the outside which made the dining and sports bar warm. After being in the sun all day it would be nice to be able to cool off at night somewhere other than your room. Other than that - would totally go back.

Although we enjoyed our stay at Royalton Negril., the property and our room in particular is need of some remodeling & repairs. We had a one bedroom presidential & for the price, I was disappointed in the state of the room. Repairs to bring room back up to "diamond club" status needs to be done ASAP. We would like to give a shout out to our butler Rahiem for top notch service and our guy at the bar next to Jerk Hut. Overall an amazing stay, mainly due to staff.

⭐ 1 out of 5 stars Disappointing Experience at a Beautiful Resort We stayed at the Royalton Resort in Negril from October 17th to 21st for a wedding. The resort itself is beautiful — the rooms, the pool, and the grounds are all well kept and impressive. Unfortunately, the staff’s attitude completely ruined what could have been an amazing experience. Our check-in was a nightmare. The staff at the front desk seemed confused and unorganized. The first girl who started helping us said she’d be right back — and never returned. Then someone else took over but didn’t finish the process either. One of the front desk attendants, Monique, was especially rude, rolling her eyes and acting as if we were bothering her for simply checking in. After a long day of travel, this kind of treatment was unacceptable. No guest should be made to feel like a burden. It’s a shame because the property itself is lovely, but the service was so poor that I would not recommend this resort to anyone. I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I had to say something.

When we first arrived the check-in was horrible I got to the hotel at 2:45 didn’t get my room until 5pm. The service is super slow the workers are rude nothing like Montego Bay! They need to hire and need help! The buffet didn’t have much food options The restaurants it so hard to get a reservation on the app. When I first arrived to my room I didn’t have no Ac wasn’t working. The elevator was nasty they need to clean the mirrors and the walls of the elevator. My room was cleaned twice and they didn’t restock my fridge. The bar by the pool never restocked we have to go to another bar at the resort to get the drinks we wanted. Don’t stay here it’s not a good resort at all!!!!

My family just got back from a week at the Royalton Negril. We chose to do the Diamond club and think it’s well worth the extra money. Our check in process was so smooth. Huge shout outs to our butlers, Daron and Shaneeka! They both checked in with us multiple times a day and made sure we had everything we needed. This resort is beautiful! The water and beach is something I will never forget. We snorkeled every day right off of the beach and saw starfish, stingrays, conchs and tons of fish! Our room was nice with a beautiful view. The upstairs of the resort where check in is has the best view in the whole resort. You can immediately tell they try to keep up with the facilities. The coffee shop is a great place to get a latte/coffee and a snack. My only complaint is that it’s so dang hot in there…..and everywhere to be honest. Even the restaurants at night were hot. That leads me to the food…the restaurants were not good. I do not know if the food is just so different than what we are used to, but we really weren’t impressed. My son did have a wonderful piece of salmon at Hunters, but the steak wasn’t good. The wait staff was so friendly though and a big shout out to our chef at Zen. She was awesome! The buffet food was really good so we went there a lot. Had some really sweet waitstaff and the pastry chef there was so awesome! Dips pool bar was horrible!! From staff to quality of drinks. Not good. Drinks at the diamond club bars/martini bar were so much better!

Anything that was a problem the staff especially Chantae was super helpful and efficiently resolved our issue. She also facilitated our transportation with Greg. He was most polite, courteous and made us feel super safe and secure. I will definitely recommend them to others and seek their services for my next trip out to Negril.

Had an excellent stay! The Two butlers assigned to the rooms (Oshain & Darron were phenomenal. They made the stay smooth and comfortable. There were many other excellent staff members to help facilitate our needs; staff members such as Amber at the martini bar, Rochelle at the buffett, Britney, and many more! The food for the most part was pretty good. There were good days and there were bad days. Overall there was more good than bad, as the selections was vast. The Japanese restaurant was excellent but I can't say the same for the stake house. The hydrotherapy at the spa was a big plus in my book, so treat your self to at least that at the spa. Overall it was just a wonderful time all around! Excellent staff! excellent beaches! What more can one ask for?

Excellent friendly staff and beautiful area!

We paid over $1200 CAD per night for a one bedroom presidential suite. Unfortunately it was over priced with unfulfilled promises and expectations. We struggled to get our room cleaned and begged for towels or restocked wine, room service was available which was great but expect to wait. Our butlers messages were def cut and paste, not relevant to our requirements / we figured out most on our own. On the last day we had to hunt down beach towels to bathe. My favourite ending was walking our luggage all the way around the resort in 32C to meet our driver as there were no carts and one did not show as coordinated. Food options were ok however the gem is Office of Nature to the right about a 7 minute down Bloody Bay Beach. Love Negril and the people however you can tell there’s an upper management or company culture issue at Royalton. Some of the staff are sweet, while most are sour and completely unaccommodating. This was our second visit to Royalton Negril and our last. A huge downgrade in service since our first time years ago. Sad to see that go.

We had a good stay! Beautiful beach! Food overall was my favorite part of the trip. Very tasty, good variety and big portions. Things to note are: hotel is 1:30 hr away from airport, the pool closes at 6pm and the latest bar closes at midnight.

Great property and wonderful beach. Lots of chairs available and fabulous ocean water. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The food was OK, nothing exciting but OK.

It’s cleanliness, location and beautiful beach areas. Each area catered its customers with food, drinks and entertainment. I didn’t like the food. I think the way some food is cooked needs to be looked at/considered. For example, it seemed as if most food was cooked using the same oil - cabbage, salt fish. The curried goat was too oily and when plated up, the oil turned hard. This wasn’t nice. However, the hotel provided some excellent choice of fresh fruit juices, orange, mixed fruit, pineapple to name but a few.

I was hesitant about our stay here based on all the bad reviews. After driving in from Montego Bay we checked in pretty quickly. We had a swim out room which was nice. It was clean and located directly across from the kids pool which was perfect for us. Overall the resort was very nice and the beach area clean and full of available lounge chairs. Service was great and everyone working seemed friendly. My only complaint was the food. It wasn’t that great. We ate at Armadillo, Calypso, Hunter Steakhouse, Zen, Score Sports bar and the Marche buffet. The Jerk Chicken hut by the pool was the best thing we ate. We enjoyed our stay but the food would keep me from coming back.

This property was incredible, this was our forth time to Jamaica but the first time to Royalton Negril and it has everything you need especially when traveling with a family. Clean spacious rooms, great dining options and quiet nights. The staff were most helpful and friendly we have ever met, from breakfast to dining to the bar in the evening. The main beach was clear no seaweed shallow waters, the second beach was great for snorkeling, plenty of fish to see. We have been traveling as a family for six years and this is by far the best resort we have been to and we will definitely be going back.

Property was great, walkable, mosquito free and lots of activities to do.

Chef Miller was amazing to our family on our 1 week stay With me explaining to him my mother could only eat puree food he made sure their were 3 meals a day for her even on his day off with no meal repeating itself for the week Entertainment was great Drinks are weak just make you pee all day Other than that room services was horrible I'm guessing cuz of independence week they were under staff

Overall the stay was nice however service was definitely lacking in places. We checked in on wednesday and our minibar was never restocked until saturday. We had to call friday night for water bottles which room service never brought up. My husband called back and had to request it again and explained our minibar wasn't restocked after which they finally brought up 4 water bottles. Finally saturday morning they just came and dropped off more water but didnt restock the minibar with anything else. I also had called the concierge to bring me up tv batteries but that was never brought up either so for the 4 days we stayed we couldnt watch tv at all. then on our last day we asked for the bellboy to give us a ride to the main lobby with our luggages. He came my husband said we needed 2 more minutes to just close the suitcaes. So the bellboy left and never came back. After waiting 10 minutes we had to walk with 6 luggases a toddler and a stroller all the way from our room to the front lobby so our daughter can grab breakfast and we wont be late for our pick up. but like i said overall the stay was nice. Beach and activities were easiliy accessible. The wait staff was amazing and they had a good variety of food at the buffet.

The open grlll area @ pool ran out of food DAILY, this was the BEST meal provided. One day they ran out of plates, poorly managed.

The set up of room and authentic food some of the staff were real polite.. what I don’t like is making reservations for the restaurants was hard and when you do get a reservation the food not enjoyable example the steak house meat salty, house keeping forget to clean my room for 2 days

The website did not tell us that it was their down season. Could not eat in any restaurant because each restaurant was only open 1 day a week and they all were booked. So we could only eat the buffet. They did not keep our refrigerator in the room filled with drinks as they said and it took them forever to clean up the dishes from outside our room when we ordered room service. Lastly, the room service options were extremely limited. Will not stay at Royalton ever again.

Had an excellent stay! The Two butlers assigned to the rooms (Oshain & Darron were phenomenal. They made the stay smooth and comfortable. There were many other excellent staff members to help facilitate our needs; staff members such as Amber at the martini bar, Rochelle at the buffett, Britney, and many more! The food for the most part was pretty good. There were good days and there were bad days. Overall there was more good than bad, as the selections was vast. The Japanese restaurant was excellent but I can't say the same for the stake house. The hydrotherapy at the spa was a big plus in my book, so treat your self to at least that at the spa. Overall it was just a wonderful time all around! Excellent staff! excellent beaches! What more can one ask for?

The nursing staff had to be used and was fantastic. However, there were enough issues with this resort that I would not choose to return. Not enough chairs at the beach or pool for all of the guests. Ran out of alcohol and basic drinks like Diet Coke at the pool bar and other bars on multiple days of our seven day stay. Missing items in the restaurant depending on the day. One day no spoons, another day no napkins, no ketchup etc.

The staff was friendly and the view from the lobby is stunning. On-site restaurants can be hard to get into, so book in advance.
