Das Hotel sieht von aussen unscheinbar aus, ist innen aber top. Schön ausgestattet, bequeme und saubere Zimmer und angenehme Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten nahe der Bar/Reception, wie auch beim Spa. Das Spa bietet 2 Sauna, 2 Hot Pots mit unterschiedlichen Temperaturen und ein Dampfbad. Alles ist sauber und äusserst angenehm. Für das Abendessen im hoteleigenen Restaurant hätte man wohl reservieren sollen, was uns nicjt gesagt wurde. Sie scheinen 2 grosse Gruppen empfangen zu haben und haben uns deshalb gebeten über eine Stunde zu warten, obwohl sie noch freie Tische hatten. Vermutlich wäre die Küche nicht nachgekommen.

The hotel was very quiet. It had two hot tubs in the yard and a nice lounge on the bottom floor. As there wasnt any other dining options in the area, we ate at the hotel. The meal was excellent, if not for the price, we would recommend it for everyone. The room was comfortable, and we had a good night sleep!

The alarm went on at midnight for no reason. It wake me up. Phone in the room was not working. No staff in the front desk for the fire drill instruction. Everyone stood in the lobby and feeling anxious. We didn't know who to call since we didn't have the emergency phone number of Iceland. In fact, the bed fitted sheet was worn-out and made me itching all night long. Additionally, there was no heat in the room. This is the most expensive room who changed almost $400 per night making me had a terrible experience on this trip.

But they could be a bit flexible in allowing guests to access to a microwave- people come from all over the world & may have dietary restrictions (no option for dining other than their own restaurant) The receptionist told us we will have to pay for the spa even though we had free spa access- having booked thru’ Expedia. We did not go to the spa so don’t know about it

Schlichtes und ruhiges Hotel mit sehr schönen renovierten Zimmern und freundlichem Service. Für uns war es einzigartig, da wir ein Eckzimmer im oberen Stockwerk mit Blick direkt auf das Polarlicht hatten und es im Warmen Verfolgen konnten. Wir hatten um eine Benachrichtigung bei Polarlicht gebeten, was normalerweise nur bis 22 Uhr erfolgt. Zum Glück wurden wir per Telefon auf das Naturschauspiel hingewiesen, obwohl es schon fast Mitternacht war. Es war einfach phantastisch!

For wanting to see the lava tube and the falls, this location was perfect for us. It all worked out well from a comfy bed to a nice breakfast. Dinner was also excellent. The only downside I can think of is that the rooms seemed a bit smaller than we experience at the other Fosshotel. Other than that, I highly recommend it.

1. Make sure to walk about the historic sights. So interesting! Lovely little village. 2. The wait staff at the restaurant was so nice! 3. The food at the restaurants wasn’t great — way too salty and seasoned and the vegan option had no protein. Easy location — 2 hours from the airport and the drive was scenic.

Staff was extremely friendly and competent. Definitely eat the breakfast buffet, beyond amazing, and nothing like breakfast buffets in the United States. Have dinner, unbelievable, everything from scratch, and the service was impeccable. And yet the drinks are all handcrafted and absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this hotel, and it was an extremely good value for the goods and services.

The two ladies that met us at the receptiondesk tried to be friendly. I am not sure that it was a success. The breakfast was hopeless. It was so many people there and it was no food left when we arrived. We had to wait at least 15 minutes before we could get what we wanted.
