This hotel relies very much on its beautiful location. It is well overdue an upgrade. The rooms are in a very poor condition. Added to that the shuttle bus system from the guest car park is a shambles. Twice we were left waiting for over 45 minutes. In the end we walked the 20 minute distance. Also no WiFi in the rooms

The location is incredibly beautiful. The lodge itself is dated by rustically charming. The best part about staying at the lodge is being able to enjoy it at night and in the early morning before the thousands of day trippers arrive. The food options are pricey and could be better for the prices charged. The newly renovated outdoor hot tub was excellent.

beautiful area so peaceful to have a morning coffee and walk. only thing to note is there’s no service or wifi except in the lobby area. staff were helpful with 24/7 shuttle from parking lot to lobby except one time they didn’t pick up the phone for the shuttle.

Emerald Lake is so beautiful and the lodge itself is beautiful. The difficulty is everything and everyone needs to be shuttled; you need to park your car a few minutes from the property and call for a shuttle ( 15 to 30 minutes) and then wait for your room. Most are not ready until 4 pm. Then you need to arrange another shuttle to get luggage to your room (more waiting) as many rooms are up hill. When you leave you myst dobit all over again. They don't take shuttle reservations and you need to call and wait for up to 10 minutes for someonevto answer the food. It is just too much...not the relaxing romantic room and dream envisioned. The food was very good in the dining room and the bar quite well stocked. It is a fabulous lake but needs a more funtional efficient way to get people around. TOO much waiting .

Room was cute & close to lake, cozy comfy bed & fireplace (wood wasn't restocked but we found some outside). Bathroom could be updated, tub had a hair on it, vent coming off ceiling, but toiletries were lovely. Robes were supplied but no slippers to walk to hot tub. Find the set up very awkward especially in the winter. The shuttling back & forth to your car is quite inconvenient. Also the lack of wifi in the rooms also inconvenient. However, the property is in a beautiful environment.

The best part was a newly renovated club house. The hot tub isn't the best but it does the job, the dry sauna is excellent.

We found the rooms to be less than good. The beds were uninviting, very hard, was hoping for “floating on a cloud” feeling. There was a dirty Kleenex under the night side table, the vacuuming and dusting was less than acceptable, and the bathroom was dirty, toilet seat wasn’t wiped, when you looked at the ceiling it was full of dirty water drops. The reason for my harshness is the price tag of the room. You need to do a complete Reno then you can charge what you do. 200.00 a night would be reasonable. The hot tub was also out of order on Friday night. All that being send we loved our stay. Your staff and the beautiful main resort are lovely, the ambiance in the lounge was very relaxing. The scenery and out door adventures certainly help add to the overall stay.

Our stay was wonderful. Very relaxing and a beautiful location. My only concern was with the room. For the amount we paid, I would assume the room would be a bit cleaner and updated compared to the photos online. Our bathroom floor was rather dirty and our bath tub had a few large chips taken out of it. My husband who is quite tall couldn’t even stand under the shower head. BUT this did not affect our stay and we still enjoyed our time here and will definitely return.

The staff was amazing and the location was perfect. The room was okay in general except for the fact that it was not clean. We stayed one night and because we came to the room late night, we did not realize the blood stains in sheets, urine stains on the toilet, and unvacuumed carpet until morning. I understand, the hotel was understaffed at the moment. However, I still do not think it was acceptable, especially, considering the one and a half hour late check in. Otherwise, everyone was so kind and helpful!

The rooms are in need of an updating and major repair. The walls need filling and painting. Window seals are broken so interferes with the lake view. Over all the units are tired, original fixtures from 30+ years ago. Also more attention to detail with cleaning dust on baseboards light fixtures etc.

It was an incredible place to stay! The cabin had a fireplace with a fire set up that all you had to do was light the match. On a chilly early June night it was perfect. It was wonderful to have access to the lake without so many people in the evening. The cabin was spacious and clean. Parking is provided at a lot and they shuttle you back and forth (and quickly). Staff was incredibly friendly. We stayed one night and it was nice to see Yoho National Park (natural bridge and Takkawa falls are both close. We didn’t need dinner until later so we sat in the lodge open area and ordered from the bar menu. Our waitress told us there was a bear outside so we were able to run outside and see him! The lake is gorgeous and the walk in the evening around it was perfect.

The best amenity was the wood burning fireplace in the suite and the access to the lake. For the price paid everything was a big run down and out dated, especially the bathroom. There was carpet throughout. I can’t remember the last time I stayed somewhere that had carpet. It is probably for sound purposes as there was another unit above us, but unless the carpet is being steamed each turnover, it’s gross. They did give us a nice dog treat gift upon arrival and the bed was very comfortable with as many pillows as we liked. If the cabins had been upgraded the price would make sense. For me it’s a 3 star location until then.

The environment is incredible. Nothing beats the pristine lake encased by mountains. It’s quiet and serene in the lodge area. In the public area at the bottom it’s crowed and noisy. The facility is showing its age, especially the wood. The railing on our private balcony needs replacing or a good sanding as it was very rough and slivery. The plug-ins in our room were worn out to the point of being unable to hold a cord properly. (Safety concern and a nuisance) The food was incredible! Expensive but worth it. There were even a number of gluten free options. The dessert menu was disappointing for gf choices. The shuttle to and from parking was ok, but not in the pouring rain. While waiting after checkout for the bus there is no cover to stand under. There is about 6-8 feet of covered luggage space, but not covered human space. By the time we waited for the second shuttle we were soaked. The staff were accommodating and invested in our experience. We would go back in spite of no wifi, cell service or parking but only in the off season as it is not worth prime season rates.

Paying for the view not the condition of the room. It’s a beautiful resort in the most beautiful setting. The rooms are old and need an upgrade. Bed was very comfortable. No AC. Wording the room type as Lake view is subjective because the trees are really starting to block the lake view. Room smelled like smoke from the fireplace.

Beautiful lakefront property. We stayed in Room 122 which has a beautiful unobstructed view of the lake and the mountains. The location gives it a 5 star rating. However the condition of the rooms could be better. The property is clean, but it’s way overdue for a coat of paint and basic maintenance jobs.

Lovely staff, a beautiful location. Rooms are nice, keep in mind this hotel is full of history and was built in 1902! We love the word fireplace in the room. Keep in mind, no TVs or wifi in the cottages. Had a lovely stay for a quiet getaway, would recommend:)

The location is stunning and the restaurant was good, but our room was very dated! No fridge in the room to enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony, no safe to keep passports etc safe, metal keys to the room easy to lose, stained furniture cushions. I believe some rooms have already been renovated, but a few small changes could be made for those rooms awaiting a full renovation.

The place is amazing. The views and food are so good and worth it. Point Cabin is legit, but a tad dated. For the expense we had a few expectations that were not met (I have simple suggestions like an in room book with local info/hours, etc), but we still absolutely loved our stay. The views, fireplace, service, and overall experience made this trip unforgettable. Just remember there is no TV, no cell service, no WiFi in the rooms...so just keep that in mind. But there is plenty to enjoy where you MOSTLY won't miss those things. Except when trying to plan the next day at night and you can't look anything up. lol There are ways around this, like going to the lounge at the main lodge and doing the internet things, no biggie. Our last full day included walking around the lake. We planned ahead with the front desk and ordered one of the breakfast/lunch boxes you pickup in the mornings to take with us and had a picnic halfway around. Wonderful stay, definitely recommend.

Rooms are in need of an update. Soft spots under deck and outdated carpets. Room smelled like fire smoke very bad when we entered. Outdated furniture, dim lighting. No sound proofing. The best part is the scenery. Emerald lake is breathtaking, definitely worth seeing but I recommend just going there for the day and skip the very average outdated rooms for what they charge.

This hotel relies very much on its beautiful location. It is well overdue an upgrade. The rooms are in a very poor condition. Added to that the shuttle bus system from the guest car park is a shambles. Twice we were left waiting for over 45 minutes. In the end we walked the 20 minute distance. Also no WiFi in the rooms

Views and location stunning. Service really poor. Dinner in lounge took over an hour to get our food despite about 30% restaurant occupancy. Another couple left because never got served. Cabins cute but absolutely agree with other need an update or at least fresh paint as peeling right when you walk in. Honestly would not recommend. Its a shame because the location is stellar.

Spectacular views of Emerald Lake and top notch service! ( we especially liked Ryker who was personable and quick to deliver us ( and too many pieces of luggage) to and from our cabin. The property grounds are well manicured and the rooms are clean.

The location is stunning, surrounded by nature, a little corner of paradise. However, I was disappointed by the reception staff—rude and dismissive, especially upon our arrival—and even more by the condition of the room. The room wasn't clean, it smelled of damp clothes and mold, there were spider webs everywhere on the ceiling between the bathroom and the bed, and (even though they knew there would be two of us sharing the room) there was only one amenity kit for one of us, which we had to share... I'm very disappointed; it's definitely not worth the expense for just one night.

Setting is unbeatable... just beautiful. Rooms are nice (albeit slightly dated). Staff was outstanding all around. My only negative(aside from the exhorbitant price) was the shuttle system to the parking lot...I understand the need for that, and applaud the staff for their efficiency in management of the system, but it's still a hassle.

The location is incredibly beautiful. The lodge itself is dated by rustically charming. The best part about staying at the lodge is being able to enjoy it at night and in the early morning before the thousands of day trippers arrive. The food options are pricey and could be better for the prices charged. The newly renovated outdoor hot tub was excellent.

An amazing location . The transfer from the guest car park was unavoidable but in a hot van . Reception was chaotic. So a stressful arrival . The lake view room was “tired” but the view was exceptional which I suppose is why we wanted to stay here . Staff were helpful and we enjoyed the walk around the lake . We wanted to hire a canoe but it was way too busy and didn’t want to queue all that time . Emerald lake is stunning but don’t expect a luxury hotel

Stunning location on the edge of the lake and so peaceful. The lodge which includes reception, bar and restaurant is warm, welcoming and has a great vibe. The accommodation cabins are beautifully laid out around the edge of the lake and the real fires are a lovely touch. We stayed one night the end of April so it was quieter than peak season, once the day visitors arrived peace was shattered somewhat although they tend not to wander through the lodge complex. The rooms are rustic which fits with the setting but would benefit from some investment, they're looking a bit tired and when the heating kicks in, its pretty noisy. Overall an adylic stay and we would return and recommend.

Do not eat at the restaurant. Booked a table for 6.45pm 17th September. Was sent 4 emails to make sure you turn up. So turned up 5 minutes earlier and was told water was off so no dinner come back in 30mins. So we did and was told to go off the property and get so food 37kms one way. As this is the only restaurant in the area we had to do this. In short no plan B from staff was initiated so we got back to the hotel after eating at 12am. No compensation was given the next morning. If the staff had called us before we arrived I could have made different plans for that night. So as you can imagine I was not happy with this experience. And the manager could not care less.

This lodge is located on the most picturesque lake I have ever seen. Splurge for the lake view room as it will enchant you. We loved this property and have been twice. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is great but expensive. I wish the lounge had appetizers. All it has is a charcuterie board for 32$. The rooms are super cozy but need a little TLC.

This resort is top notch. The breakfast, not included, was a buffet that had lots of selection and was decicious! Staff at this resort are very friendly and helpful and comment on the hotel being a great employer. They were decorating for Christmas and us was extra beautiful! Highly recommend

Amazing. So worth the visit. As other reviewers have stated, the rooms are stuck in the 70’s, and not in a good way. BUT… the incredible views, abundant trails, incredible food… makes up for it. Rooms have very cozy fireplaces, and wood is abundant at no extra fee. Staff is super friendly. Go.

In order to reach the offsite parking lot please follow the below instructions. Take the Trans Canada Highway heading west towards Field and Golden, BC. The turnoff to Emerald Lake Lodge is located 1 kilometer west of Field, BC. Follow the road for 8 kilometers until a sign that says 'Overnight Guest Parking.' Turn left into the parking lot. In the parking lot is a cabin. Use the telephone in the cabin to call the front desk. A shuttle will be sent to pick up guests.
