Always my go-to hotel when I go to Medicine Hat. Large, clean rooms. The breakfast is excellent. The staff are friendly and efficient. My grandchildren love the pool and waterside.

Definately decent value for money. Pros -comfortable beds and good linens -friendly staff -good value Cons -pool area is well laid out but pool liner needs replacement - pool was closed for part of our stay. -cleaning service was inconsistent. We got cleaning one day but they next day they just dropped off towels and didn’t remove garbage etc. -originally we were placed in an ‘inside’ room close to pool and temperature was very hot - and could not be remedied. We were offered another room promptly but not sure how anyone could stay in that room.

The pool and water slide were an amazing feature. The rooms were a tad small but the free breakfast was like no other. It was a full breakfast and lots to choose from as we travelled across Canada, this one had the best breakfast and pool area.

Staff friendly and helpful. Shower had no place to put soap and shampoo except the floor. Paved areas were potholed. Room was indoor areas clean. Pool area very nice with water slide and hot tub.

We checked in and our hallway to room smelled like sewer. My kid wanted to leave, and we had to open the windows to air out the room it was so bad. Let the front desk know, and didn't seem to phase them. room was very unkept.

The staff were wonderful and the air conditioning worked very well. But the room was not very clean and the furniture and room were quite worn. The door lock was damaged/broken, the chair looked as though a cat had used it as a scratching post, the fridge was not level and was difficult to open. The first room we were put in had left over A&W in the side table drawer.

This is by far, one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a hotel. My room was beyond run down. It was also not clean. Dirty pillow case loose on nightstand, used straw on head board, cup stains, blood on door, could I go on? To top it off the majority of the night we were awake due to yelling, swearing and banging next door. I felt unsafe. I called the front desk at 1:30am after being awake for an hour with the domestic situation. Nothing changed. I would give this property 0 stars if I could. I have pictures to collaborate all claims.

The kids loved the pool. Other than that, the room was not clean, neither was the pool or the breakfast area. The eggs were soggy, they were out of a few things, waiting for a delivery. I'm not a fussy person, and I'm fine with old, but atleast it could be clean, this was not.

Pool was awesome and the family all loved it, warm water, but could use updating. Friendly staff. East check in. Free breakfast was incredible. Hot breakfast we all enjoyed. Room was a good size. We were on the main floor and had a hallway door as well as a door to outside (like a motel). Nice wallpaper and floors, but given the below conditions we wonder if it was lipsticked a bit. There was mold around air conditioner, and had cigarettes, lighter and empty weed gummy bag left behind on top of the jacket hanger area - our towels were left on top of these items. Also toys and items under the bed so that wasn’t cleaned. One bed was new ish the other had many stains. Price was great for a family. Pool awesome. Breakfast awesome. Room cleanliness bad. So we are torn if we’d make a stop there again - if rooms were cleaner it’d be a no brainer.

Front desk girl was wonderful.... the homeless vagrants made it feel unsafe. The black mold at the base of the heating/ ac unit and the broken fan motor almost no air flow. The screen was non exist so couldnt open the window. Found ants in our bed. The gap in the door to entrance from hallway, the light at night was glaring. Noise from other people staying, kids running and screaming. The towels were stained with what looked like feces

Sheets weren't clean & pillow cases had black specs on them. I didn't sleep a wink for fear of who's germs were on the sheets. When I demanded my money back they said I needed to inform them before 130am. Didnt see the dirty bedding until 2am. Will never stay at or recommend this hotel!!

Didn't have high expectations as it was not a fancy hotel but any means but the rooms were filthy. Must have counted at least 20 but carcuses. This is disappointing as it just comes down to effort. Breakfast was excellent was about the only redeeming quality. Pool was okay but also filthy, debris everywhere. Staff was kind.

For the price per night, it was totally acceptable and would stay there again. Rooms and lobby all updated, and looks really nice. Beds werent the comfiest, but maybe thats just me. Our room has a window over the pool entrance area, and it was very echo-y and the light shone in a little - not ideal, but I'm sure I could have asked for a different room. Breakfast was great. Picked this place almost specifically because of the pool and the kids were thoroughly entertained. Hot tub jets werent working, but that is minor details. Overall enjoyed.

Property was very clean, spacious room with microwave, fridge and coffee/tea maker. Bed was super comfortable. Unfortunately we slept in and missed the breakfast but was told it was good. Will stay there again.

Upon arrival (10 minutes before check-in time), we were told that our room was not ready. There were several people in the waiting room also waiting for their rooms to be cleaned before they could be checked in. We decided to leave and grab something to eat. We returned 1 hour 45 minutes later to be told our room was still not ready. At this point we had neen driving for over 11 hours and just wanted to relax. Being more insistant, I said we need our room now and asked them what is going on? We left already once and returned nearly 2 hours later. We were told the reason why they were running late was due to a large party leaving that day. To me, that means they knew in advance that a large party would be leaving and they should have planned accordingly. They started calling their cleaners and within 5 minutes we had our room and for the most part it was OK. We found a frozen facecloth in the freezer, a Q-Tip just under the microwave and a few other smaller detail items. My daughter swam in the pool (which was pretty good and she had fun) but when she got out of the pool, her swimsuit was bleached due to whatever they put in the water and her skin was itching. The price for this hotel is very reasonable. We knew it wasn't a 5 star resort or anything, but as a minimum we expected on-time check in. I think it's a poorly managed place. It needs some love in the maintenance department and it needs some additional cleaning staff on days they know a large group is leaving.

We have stayed at this facility several times over the years because the cost is manageable and our needs are generally well met. There is a need for maintenance and cleaning in the pool area. The bed was a little saggy, so a new mattress would be nice. The saddest thing was how short staffed the restaurant is. The staff worked hard to get everything done in a timely manner but an additional cook and server would have made service a lot faster. It took over an hour to get our breakfast.

The aircon in our original room didn't work. They changed rooms for us, however the aircon was super loud. We were glad it worked though, as temperatures reached 40c that week. The weight room ac was not working. The hottub in the pool area was under maintenance. The hotel is rough around the edges. Friendly staff. Breakfast area was clean and spacious. The staff at the restaurant during breakfast were very nice and helpful. Kind people.

I encountered several issues that greatly impacted the overall quality of my experience. While the check-in process was smooth, the subsequent events left much to be desired. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed a strong and artificial scent of air freshener. Although initially bearable, it soon became evident that it was attempting to mask an underlying problem. Unfortunately, as we fell asleep, the air freshener dissipated, and an overwhelming sewage odor permeated the room, disrupting our rest. Around 2:00 am, the unpleasant stench abruptly woke us up, and we realized the severity of the situation. In an effort to mitigate the odor, we resorted to stuffing a towel under the bathroom door. It is disheartening that such measures were necessary to make the room more tolerable, causing additional inconvenience and discomfort. Regrettably, due to the late hour and the lack of immediate resolution, we decided against approaching the front desk for a room change. We were simply too tired to move all of our things and the hotel seemed pretty full when we checked in. At check-out, we made sure to inform the front desk about the persistent and distressing odor we experienced throughout the night. However, the response from the staff was underwhelming. While they acknowledged our complaint, their lack of interest in the problem made us feel undervalued as guests.

We only stayed one night, but the staff was super helpful and very polite and friendly. We were surprised by a breakfast voucher for the next morning, and the meal was excellent. Staff in the dining area were all very nice and extremely helpful. Overall, it was a most enjoyable experience.

The breakfast was amazing every day. It was not your typical continental, most days you ordered off a breakfast menu and served like in any restaurant. Or you could order it to go and it was packaged well. Staff was excellent not matter who we met. We had to stay for 26 days while between homes and everyone was so helpful and friendly, in every department at every time. Service from the hotel restaurant was great with delicious meals. I can only upload 8 photos but I took many more. Food portions were excellent, the pizzas in particular are a great price for the size as well as the huge fish and chips. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and that is not indicated anywhere, so be aware of that if traveling over a Monday. I had a couple of disappointments, such as the outdoor seating areas that are advertised not being available. One is completely gone and when I ate supper at the lounge one evening, I had been hoping to sit outside but I was told that isn't open except maybe for events. The area itself is a bit old and sketchy, with people going through the dumpster, garbage cans and cigarette butt stations daily, while Hotel patrons are sitting outside within feet. Several times we were approached for money or smokes. I feel that the hotel management should support it's staff and patrons with more security, making the premises No Trespassing, etc. But overall it was fine. I went to the Laundromat once, different building, but it was locked so I had to call the front office.

I am giving Clarion a 5 star recommendation due to their cleanliness. I rarely give five stars. I was in Medicine Hat because of my son‘s illness. I was there for three weeks.The hotel is older, but they keep it in excellent condition. The rooms are clean, the pool and hot tub are sparkling clean. The workout room is everything you need! Morning breakfast (complementary) is amazing. Kudos to their chef. The service was exceptional. I thank you,Manika. The hotel is close to the hospital, gas services,live theatre, fast food, excellent restaurants, such as their own, and Rustic Kitchen. All within walking distance. Importantly for me, it was very quiet at night.

Lobby is clean , beautiful . Does need a lot of landscaping cleaned up . But the amazing staff make up for that . Staff at all times were absolutely amazing .(there was also a meth pipe broken outside restraunt that someone had attempted to clean but was left . That did kinda scare me

I didn’t have any issues during my stay. Staff are very friendly but the rooms are dated but clean. Restaurant and bar doesn’t open until 5:00 pm so if you arrive early you will need to drive to satisfy your thirst. Nothing in walking distance.

The staff at the Clarion were all extremely friendly, the hotel and area were very clean, it appears to currently be undergoing some upgrades and renovations. The meal was very good at Cliff's and the complimentary breakfast had a lot of choices. The location was very easy to access and there were several options available within walking distance if you chose not to use the onsite restaurant. I would not hesitate to recommend this as a economical and clean stay during your travels.

Staff were great. Rooms were clean and nice. Lots of facilities. the breakfast was great! A proper sit down/menu breakfast in a nice restaurant instead of the usual cramped room with cereal and hardboiled eggs. Great stay!!

The pool and water slide were an amazing feature. The rooms were a tad small but the free breakfast was like no other. It was a full breakfast and lots to choose from as we travelled across Canada, this one had the best breakfast and pool area.

I would highly recommend staying here. The rooms are large and very clean, very comfortable with lots of bedding. The pool was very nice, but what stood out to me was the restaurant. The Cliff has very good food for an amazing price, and the complementary breakfast did not disappoint either.

Hair in Bath tub unit was not super clean (passable). First breakfast was table service and was excellent , next 2 breakfasts were buffet style and and food ran out in several pans, ( eggs sausage ect,) not enough clean glasses for drinks.. yes it was busy but kitchen and service was not close to keeping up

Room was quite run down. Shower curtain was stained/mouldy, bed skirts falling off the bed frame, a/c barely cooling or not functioning at all, sink drain was so slow, only two towels provided in the room when booking for 4 people, and shampoo dispenser was empty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Kindly provided towels and shampoo when requested. Kids enjoyed the pool, breakfast was decent.

We booked a room with a queen bed - it was absolutely a double. The bathroom was insanely small. The shower door wouldn’t stay open, zero water pressure. The “ac” could not be controlled. The headboard was worn. There were patches all over the place. The door with access to the outside did not have enough seal so light shine through along with any and all sounds. Walls are paper thin - staff seemed uninterested in any of this. If you have absolutely no where else stay - sleep in your car!

Very nice pool and hot tub. Free older arcade games and foosball. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Possibly the best free breakfast I have ever had at a hotel- Hot Buffet with eggs, potatoes, panckes, sausage, fruit, cereal. My only complaint is that the AC is wired backwards so finally learned to turn the thermostat down to get the AC to shut off. The room was about 59 degrees when I arrived.
