Comfort Suites Dover University Area

When traveling with 3 kids, it is often challenging to find a room with a sleeper sofa, or a suite style room. I appreciated the fact that this room had two double beds, as well as a twin sleeper sofa. The location in Dover is convenient to several beaches. Breakfast was included, but it only included a handful of items. It only had 2 choices of cereal and a sparse selection of yogurts with some hard boiled eggs. There was no milk for cereal. It seemed like there were empty bowls that they might have filled later, but both mornings they were empty. Our door to the room rubbed against the floor, so you had to push it with force in order for it to close properly. On the last night, when I was taking items out of the car, I didn't notice a rusty, broken off base of a sign in the parking lot, so I severely cut my foot on the post in the ground. When I went in to report it there was no one at the desk. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Property and room was clean and decent size . The kids enjoyed the pool . The breakfast was ok .

Pool was the only downfall but the breakfast made up for it

Nice clean room, a little noisy. Breakfast is fair like most free breakfast places. Died not have a snack area. Pictures show a jetted tub but not in our rooms.

Safe, quiet area, close to shopping and areas for good. Room cleanliness could certainly be improved and the property could use some cosmetic repairs. Large rooms, nice comfortable beds.

Moldy smell in room, AC was moldy, I woke up with a swollen face from allergies, sign for vending in floor 2 takes you to a wall. Will never stay again but staff was nice!

I did not see a pool but I utilized the ice machine and that was sufficient.

First, in the room there were some small broken lamps and they didn't work, they didn't do room service or clean. The pool was very dirty, everything else was fine.

Needs more than one elevator 🙂

I had an allergic reaction to the black mold that was above the shower.

The room was disgusting , floor was sticky, bed had mold on the sheets , it smelled like pee every time you turned on the air , shower was completely dirty water filled up the tub when you showered so you were standing in a puddle of dirty water, the ice tray was dirty

Room was very clean and well kept

While there we saw many roaches.

The hotel needs updating, mold in the toilets, tubs, walls. Walked into the room killing bugs. Very unhappy .

I waited to post this review in hopes of receiving a response to the email I sent to the hotel’s general manager, but after hearing nothing back, I can only assume that my experience reflects a broader issue with how this hotel is managed. First, the dates of my stay were recorded incorrectly. More importantly, the condition of the rooms was unacceptable. In the first room, the refrigerator was dirty, a light bulb was out in the bathroom, a toenail was on the floor, and there was a visible urine stain on the pull-out sofa bed. We were moved to another room, only to find mold on the pull-out sofa there as well. I was traveling with my children, so these issues caused a significant disruption—particularly because they were left with nowhere sanitary to sleep. We were in town for my nephew’s graduation, and unfortunately, the high room rate did not match the level of cleanliness or service we received. Lesson learned: next time, I’ll stick with hotel brands that consistently deliver on basic standards of quality and guest care.

Gross, unacceptably gross. Stained sheet, black mold on the window AC unit. Breakfast which we would have skipped after noticing the flies, was non-existent. The entire experience was awful.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. It was very clean and convenient. My room was very nice and clean! I will come back here when I am in town visiting family!! An there was plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby!

Dirty, hair in towels. Stained mattresses and beds. Dirty carpet. Tried switching rooms and not better. Breakfast? Ants everywhere, dirty. Shady shady place stay away . Not enough staff. Front desk was constant unattended.

The first room 220 was dirty, it smelled like mildew and mold, the bedsheets and comforter had spots and stain all over it so they put me in another room which was ok but again it had a weird smell. Then next day it was barely any breakfast, the selection was minimal. Although it was just for a night I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay there. 0/10

Checkin was quick and courteous. Room was pretty clean and very spacious. Nice to have the sofa. Bed was comfy. Fine for one night stay. Breakfast was not very good. Opted for the banana and yogurt. Coffee wasn’t good.

great size room and bathroom. checkin was smooth. be advised they do not take amex !

Good room for the price. My only complaint is no black out curtains. Only shear curtains which means the sun wakes you up and not much privacy.

The price of the room for a motel was over priced, but it was home coming for the nearby college so they probably jacked up the price.The brace for the hand held shower head was broken, so it just hung. The room was right next to the ice machine and the breakfast so it was noisy in the morning. The bed was very comfortable. It was a last minute decision to attend the home coming, so we had to take what was available.

Front desk clerk tried to make a physical copy of my credit card. Red flag. Bed was comfy and clean. AC worked. Housekeeping needs to pay better attention when cleaning though. See pics.

I could hear every word spoken by the folks in the room next to mine. It was not their fault.as the walls are paper thin. Its was hard to rest if they were talking or watching tv. The breakfast offered was an egg and a sausage everyday for 5 fays straight. The room was big and seemed clean. My bathroom cieling had water damage and looks as if it will cave in any day. I feel the room was a little pricey considering the lack of privacy, breakfast options and water damage.

The room hall way light broken; one of the lamps broken; there is a broken outlet on the desk. I have no where to charge my phone; the shower water is very slow, 1:30 am someone TV was so loud, make me couldn’t sleep. I know that was not hotel fault. But it was really first time has such unpleasant night there. This hotel needs some cosmetic job.

The pillows were cut in half and tiny. So strange. But overall it was a nice room.

The location is close to many eateries and Bally’s casino. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. Tv did not work and did not want to call someone at 2am to fix it. I think some others had problems with Tv because I heard several calls come in about their tv when I was checking in. The ac did not work well. There needs to be blower on it to circulate in the room. It was set on 68 but it was not blowing through the room.

Horrible and rude front desk person. So nasty, he actually hung up on me.

The Hotel stay itself was pretty decent but some of the staff was rather unprofessional. When I arrived I spoke with a female front desk agent named Dee. Dee had a rather nonchalant attitude as if she was counting time until her shift was over (not the proper candidate for a first customer interaction) I do believe business will suffer with her at the front desk. I was not informed of checkout time, breakfast time, or any other information for the property, I had to find this information out the next day from a female breakfast attendant who was setting up, she was an older lady and spoke with a middle eastern accent, she did a very good job of informing me of what Ms Dee at the front DID NOT. Later at checkout I informed Ms Dee TWO TIMES that my room (213) had mold on the walls behind the sofa, on the ceiling and surrounding the fire sprinkler on the wall, as if previous water damage had occured. Ms Dee seemed to have ignored my comments about the mold and didn't try to ask any additional fact finding questions about the situation, as if it didn't matter, just hurry and check out. As a college graduate who holds a degree in hospitality management, I have to say I was rather disappointed by the lack of customer care I received. Why hire workers who clearly don't have the people skills, proper job etiquette, or apparent desire to even wanna be in a sector that involves actively catering and serving others ? Not impressed comfort suites, not impressed by a long shot.

Hotel refused to issue room key without allowing staff to photocopy credit card and requested to photocopy driver’s license too—hello, identity theft?! Door to room barely opened/closed (scraped floor) which was dangerous and noisy. TV remote didn’t work; one bedside light didn’t work; sofa had stains so too gross to sit on. All of this for a room that was $250/night?

Staff, specifically Rahul, was very helpful and friendly. provided fast efficient check in and was available to answer questions about the area and attended to all of our needs. I found the hotel to be clean and the rooms comfortable. Easy access and close to many restaurants, shops and convenience stores. Breakfast was sufficient. Many cold food choices, microwavable egg biscuits, fruit, danish, cereal, yogurt and a waffle iron. Would stay agan.

The staff was excellent I had a group of rooms for a race team and they were very accommodating for all. Rooms were clean and the check in process was super smooth.

Was forced to pay $150 cash deposit on top of room cost because I had paid with a debit card. Had to drive around at night looking for an ATM. Will not be staying here again

The building is well maintained, there was no cigarette smell as is often the case in "non-smoking" hotels. When we arrived to check in, we passed staff members during their smoke break near the entrance. The smoking there was not a problem for us. We waited only briefly until staff entered and helped us. In such instances, I suggest the staff member could immediately follow guests into the building to render excellent service. Staff were uniformly pleasant and very helpful. I recommend this hotel.

They charge an extra 150$ in cash for a deposit if you are paying in cash or debt card

Clean and comfortable and walking distance for food options

Overall condition of hotel dirty, sink and bathtub water holding in sink and drained very slowly, smell of Marijuana on 2nd floor veey strong, people in room next to ours had a dog who would not stop crying and barking , phone in room didnt work , floor dirty in room , outside hotel vwry sketchy looking people who woild just stare at you didnt feel too safe

The property was very close to everythng that we wanted to do. We went to the Nascar race. We got gas at Sams and went to the WaWa just up the street. We are planning on staying here next year too! It was great.

Basic lodging for one night stay. Hotel could use many updates. Wildly overpriced but it was nascar race weekend so all hotels near track are overpriced. Location near racetrack was the reason for staying here,otherwise would not be my first choice.

It was a good stay overall. Convenient with bob evans and gas station close.

As soon as we parked the car, we were approached by a "homeless" man asking for money, he literally was going from car to car as people were unloading their luggage. Frost desk clerk was clearly uninterested in his job. Later in the evening there were questionable people coming and going. I would never stay here again.

Could not flush toilet first night and the sink stopper would not open. I had to use my finger to make it rise. The carpet and curtains were stained. The breakfast was extremely poor with no bread available and milk was in a cup. How ever the bed and pillows were excellent.

Clean room, friendly staff, but sort of off the beaten path so not too many people staying there. Free breakfast is just waffles or cereal. But there is a Bob Evans restaurant in the same parking lot. Great breakfast there plus decent lunch/dinner choice.

Overall a great value for the room. Bedding was very comfortable. Best pillows! Great mattress. There was a slight odor in the hotel/room - my only criticism - may be from AC units/mildew. The room was nicely designed; modern look. Great toiletries in bathroom. Breakfast was good - Jimmy Dean biscuits, fresh eggs and fresh fruits.

6-9 breakfast was late. We tried to eat after waking up at 6:10 so that we could be on the road by 7. Not even the lights in room we're on. No breakfast started till 6:45. Also noise out in the lobby till after 2am. We were in room 101 right next to lobby
