It was July 4th, the pool wasn’t open. The hotel was musty and dingy, the air conditioning was not turned on in my room and for an incoming check in on a hot July day, a/c would’ve been nice. The restaurant wasn’t open, I understand it was a holiday but it was unfortunate there wasn’t any other option because a lot of other places were closed too. The property is just on the older side, needs some cleaning and updating. For the price, I would’ve expected a bit more, but overall my actual room and stay were comfortable enough.

This property is a bad example on how to run a hotel on a budget. Pool was shut down, elevator broken, first floor ice machine broken, handicap exit door broken, refrigerator in room broken, TV not properly formatted so it has a tiny picture and a crappy sound bar. Parking lot crumbling near handicap parking making it very unsafe. Finally, rear smoking area literally right next to natural gas manifold for the building. That may be to code, but still not a good look. I have never stayed at a Wyndum Hotel before and I never will again. If this hotel is up to their standards, then it is a VERY low bar of quality.

Terrible experience pool was disgusting IN June, tears multiple in wallpaper on wall in hall and room, brown water in bathroom, house keep lady smelt horrible, only 1 ice machine between 4 floors others were out of order, one tiny elevator working the other out of order. We checked out a night early and they never gave a receipt for Chek out approximately they never did it since I got an email the next day to please check out. Which I did 12 hours prior. Everything was good until we got settled in the room and realized there’s no microwaves. I called the front desk because we’ve stayed in this hotel several times before and there was microwaves. I then was informed that there’s no microwaves on the 3rd floor. The lady at the front desk was willing to reheat my food but it’s such an inconvenience to have to go all the way downstairs to let someone reheat your food. She did offer to switch our rooms but we was already settled in at that point. It would be nice if the 3rd could get microwaves or asked people will they need a microwave at check in so you can be put on the first or second floor.

This place was smelly, dusty and disgusting. I had to buy my own blankets and sheets, cause i couldn't trust it. Its a pool advertised but its not in order. It was a last minute booking so I didn't check the reviews but i know for future reference. Stay here at your own risk!

At check in they wanted every pice of information again! If I fill it out online as requested why do I have to do it again. The hall carpet are old and stained . The lifts have old gum on the floors, the halls are dark and smelly. None of the ice machines work and the back and side entrance door access does not work. It needs a great overhaul and management that gives a dam.

It was horrible! There were chicken bones and a full bottle of beer in the hallway on the way to our room. Once we got in the room there were hair in the shower. When we pull the covering from the bed back, there was a piece of candy in it.

My daughter is picky and looks for signs of infestation. Didnt really find any, which is good. But while she was searching she woke me to show empty bottles of liquor pushed under the bed. At least one cigarette butt and skittles on floor. Either a guest shived them under the bed and housekeeping neglected to clean it or housekeeping just swept the mess under the beds. Highly recommend looking under the beds. We arrived around 12:30-1 am because of fireworks so this could have been missed, and was by me..initially.

The latch on the room was loose and looked like it was poorly repaired many times. Old outlets didnt charge phones (loose) Breakfast was not out at 745. Basically it offered nothing. I’ve stayed at this property before and although not 5 stars, the accommodations were okay. This time the room wasn’t as clean and there was blood on the shower wall and in the tub. Whoever prepared the room did not do a great job. The staff has always been pleasant and there’s potential for this to be an amazing place to stay.

My first room smelled like mildew, staff moved me to a different room as we were going to lay down my son and I found bed bugs in the bed smh sprayed it down with Lysol we are from md so we came out there for a game and it was definitely unsafe to sleep

This hotel was not the best. We arrived at the hotel and the first time we tried to leave the room, the doorknob came off and we got stuck in the room. We were able to reattach the doorknob enough to open it, but it took a while to get it to work. We told the front desk that the doorknob was broken, thinking it was a security issue for us since we had our belongings in the room and even a safety issue as well. If there was a fire getting out of the room quickly would be difficult, it would take time to get out of the door. The front desk assured us that they would fix it right away. They did not. They never fixed the doorknob while we were there. The shower was also interesting. There seemed to be water under the base of the tub. When you stood on the shower floor, the tub floor moved like a water bed. My husband almost fell. Seems strange I know, but having the tub move while in the shower also seems like a safety issue ? Where and why was there water under the base of the tub? The bed was nice and comfortable.

Stay away from 3rd floor emergency exit near elevator the door slams constantly all night long because it’s broken. Beds are very hard and noisy. Housekeeping service is limited if any. They didn’t clean rooms or refresh towels during stay.

Older hotel, 3rd floor stairs near the elevator door slams very loudly every time someone goes in or out. The closing mechanism must be broke definitely an older property. Thin walls mattresses are hard and lumpy, but for the price it could be much worse. I would definitely consider staying here again if I need a cheap place this stay.

The room door stayed open. It didn’t close on its own like it was supposed to. The latch to lock the room was loose. The room looked and felt dirty. There were stains on the wall. We didn’t even stay. We left 2 hours after we checked in. The front desk person was very nice.

The staff was very cooperative and friendly, bed comfortable, room clean. However there was a musty smell, very spotty wifi - they were working on it for three days - and cups and utensils were plastic and wrapped in plastic. In addition, the very heavy room doors operate in such a way that they close very slowly, then slam shut.

It started right after check in. My room door wouldn’t open. The door lock was messed up . Not the key. Then the TV wouldn’t work. They said the box wasn’t set correctly. They reset that. Had to come back because the remote wasn’t working. I ended up with one remote to turn the TV on and adjust the volume and another remote to change the channels. The next morning the cook decided not to show up so there goes our complimentary hot breakfast. Ice machine didn’t work. Overall the place looked old and dated. A one and done. I’ll stay elsewhere if there is a next time.

Holes in the room. The lock was destroyed, the doors and elevators are badly damaged and the shower was falling apart and nearly disconnected from the wall... Overall if this place charges you more that 50 dollars a night I would I somewhere else.

The gentleman who was working at the front desk on Saturday when we checked was fantastic! Sorry we did not get his name. Surprisingly he was also the night auditor and he was setting up breakfast the next morning. Very nice hardworking guy.

Room felt dirty and smelled like an ash trash even though it was a non-smoking room. Bathroom fixtures were broken or damage. Check in and checkout experience was horrible. Front office staff seemed uninterested in explaining anything.

upon arrival, there was a hand written note that said "left desk, be back ASAP". Standing there with bags for half hour with two other guest trying to check in. Upon standing there my visual started intake. The bellhop carts were too dirty to put my bags on. The floors were not vacuumed, lots of debris. Literally paper trash on floor in front of front desk. There was a stinch of uncleanness. One front desk person arrived he began my check-in. He asked "Do you want receipt?" i said "YES" , he said why? Excuse me, im not accustomed to paying without proof. Walking down hallway to get to my room, there were all kinds of people in corners and doorways before i made it to elevator. A young kid who received two rolls of toliet paper from front desk guy, let someone in from side door stairwell, elevator was not working, major debris in hallway. The place hadn't been cleaned since i don't know when. This is a place where low income families live. Its run down. Upon entering my dirty room....i couldn't even set my bags down....took a white towel ran it in the crease of the chair and BINGO! BEDBUGS! I never made it to the mattress, i flew out that room!

Me and my family were there for a week. During that week housekeeping never came. We asked several times for someone to just bring us more towels and empty the trash. They never came. Then on day 5 I asked for more towels and to have the room refreshed and they only came and gave us 3 towels. We ran out of toilet paper so we had to get a roll from the housekeeper cart. Day 6-7 we had again for things to replenished and it never happened. Also, they are re-doing the pool which would have been nice to know. The breakfast was gross! Same thing everyday; egg whites, pre cooked bacon and mini pancakes. They also had cereal but the milk was sour most days. I would never stay there again!

Staff is AMAZING: friendly, helpful, fun and attentive. The property is close to Panera, El Azteca Mexican restaurant, Burlington and Big Lots. Plenty of parking too. The pool didn’t seem to be in service (green waters) and the room was a bit dated but the bed was so comfortable and clean, there’s plenty of hot water, toilet flushes well and it was quiet! I recommend it for a comfortable price for what you get!

It is unfortunate that this property is so poorly taken care of, it is a great location to DE Turf and so many families could stay here often to attend athletic events. However, I rebooked my stay at another hotel for the next event in two weeks because the room was so dirty. The pool is green and the leather on the chairs is ripping off. The room hadn't had the air on, and it smelled like mold. Will never stay here again.

The neighborhood is horrible . When we were in room, we hear some wome screaming help me, help me so many times. We were so terrified that we left the hotel, we didn't even ask for refund. We felt our lives were more important that the money. It was not safe outside too. It is the cheapest hotel so becareful.

The pictures on the website are very deceiving. The front facade makes it look like a fairly new/remodeled hotel. You walk in the doors and you see that it is an old motel that is in need of repairs, remodeling, etc. The breakfast room tables looked like they were found at a restaurant going out of business sale, the room was musty and in need of remodeling, the pool was closed and the water was brown and disgusting. Plus the cost was so overpriced, it was a scam. Price was jacked up due to a lacrosse tournament at the DE turf sports complex. Since we were coming to see our grandson play and other hotels within the area were sold out I opted for this Wyndham Gardens. I have stayed in Wyndham Gardens before and am actually a rewards member and they are usually decent - nothing like this one. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

First room 221 had filthy toilet, towels on the floor in bathroom, toilet ran constantly, when flushed the water was orange; switched to room 217. Room 217 was much better, however, the the water was orange in the bathroom sink when we first used it. Breakfast was OK the first day; second day there was no eggs, bacon or sausage on the buffet and not one seat open. When I mentioned the no food and seating issue to the manager, he commented “have a good day.” He didn’t address the breakfast problem at all nor even apologize. We ended up having to go out to breakfast. Wyndham could’ve done better.

First we had to move rooms due to tv not working. Front desk said they fix problem and tried but made me go check out new room and move. The side exit is where people go to smoke. Area is filthy with butts and weed smell. Breakfast was terrible. Cold eggs bacon and no milk for cereal. No butter for toast. Next morning same cold food and no power on food warming trays. Still no milk. Staff said they were waiting on delivery. Surly and not helpful. No coffee in lobby. We’ve stayed in other hotels in Dover so I would recommend comfort inn. NEVER HERE AGAIN.

Good hot breakfast. Requested a late check out due to transportation being late and it was no problem and we were not bothered to leave our room at all. Staff was there if we needed them but otherwise did not bother us. Very peaceful stay.

The staff at check in was friendly. Our son’s room had mold all in the shower and bathroom it was gross he had to shower in our room. They advertise free breakfast but there is minimal food served the milk that was there was expired as well. We had to stop at McDonald’s. We won’t be back.

The Mexican restaurant onsite was fabulous. The property needs a major deep cleaning and repainting, if not a renovation. The continental breakfast area was dirty and disgusting. The staff was friendly, but more effort needs to be put into cleaning and maintenance of the public areas of the hotel.

It started right after check in. My room door wouldn’t open. The door lock was messed up . Not the key. Then the TV wouldn’t work. They said the box wasn’t set correctly. They reset that. Had to come back because the remote wasn’t working. I ended up with one remote to turn the TV on and adjust the volume and another remote to change the channels. The next morning the cook decided not to show up so there goes our complimentary hot breakfast. Ice machine didn’t work. Overall the place looked old and dated. A one and done. I’ll stay elsewhere if there is a next time.

For $157 a night I would expect more from a hotel than what we experienced. Overall rating is about a 2.5/5. The staff up front was very friendly. The room’s appearance was okay, but the shower was the disappointment. The floor of the shower was not even glued down properly and bubbly all throughout and the shower head only has 2 settings and was pretty ass pressure. And this morning I was expecting a breakfast that was supposed to be from 7-10 but when we got down there at 8:30am there was no hot breakfast except for ONE pancake. And it seemed like nobody was going to bring anymore out. Would not come back here again.

First and foremost - don’t book this hotel if you’re looking for a pool. The pool was closed with no mention anywhere on the listing. We chose this hotel specifically for the pool only for it to be closed. Our room keys were constantly being deactivated and we needed to go to the front desk 3-4 times a day to have them reactivated which is SUPER fun when you have a screaming 2 year old who just wants to lay down and take a nap The AC units have gaps in them so there’s openings to the outside. Lastly, we found live cockroaches in the room. Absolutely disgusting. We requested a refund but to date have not heard anything. The breakfast was however was a slight redeeming quality. It was hot and maintained regularly through out the morning. Honestly though, spend a little more and stay somewhere else. I know I will next time.
