Very disappointing stay during the Minnesota State Fair. When we arrived, there was visible mold in and around the sink in our room. We asked for another room, but the second room also had mold. A third room was checked and had mold as well. Because it was State Fair weekend and other hotels were extremely limited, we really had no choice but to stay. They eventually found us a room that was acceptable. Management apologized and told us they would take one night off our bill. We were also told someone would come up the next morning to clean the room, but nobody ever came. We were there with our kids, who were showing animals at the State Fair, and simply wanted a clean, safe place to sleep. One evening we took the kids to the hotel courtyard to eat dinner and play beanbags, only to have people smoking marijuana there. When I brought it up to management, I was told, “Yeah, that’s our smoking area,” even though this was a courtyard set up for guests and families to use. What made everything worse was how put off the staff seemed whenever we raised a concern. After mold in three rooms, smoking around the family courtyard, and promised cleaning that never happened, I cannot recommend this hotel to families.

Rooms were clean, bed was comfy and room was quiet. Airport shuttle service very appreciated. We checked in very late after Midnight. Front desk guy not at all pleasant or welcoming.

The first room we were given smelled like an old moldy boot. The 2nd room did not have towels. When my son went down to ask for towels he was told they were out. I went down and heard them tell two other guests that they were out of towels. I asked for towels and was told they would go check with housekeeping and bring them to my room. I am assuming they knew I would not accept that they were out. Two hours go by. It’s 10:30pm and we still do not have towels. I called the front desk from my cell phone (the room phone did not work) and said I still needed towels. And that I did not want them to think I’m asleep and do not want the towels. At 11:15pm they finally brought two towels. We also had to get a 2nd room because the “double” beds were the smallest beds I have ever seen. We had 3 adults and there was no way two could share those beds. It was absolutely terrible at this hotel.
