The number 1 reason I chose this property over the others was the fitness center. After checking in to my room I searched and found it with an out of order sign on the door. When I asked the Front desk agent about she dismissively responded, “0h, yeah, there is broke glass in there”. She did not appear to have any concern, offer compensation even an appology that a major advertised and brand marketed amenity was not available.

Smell from trash car with rotting trash inside stairway landing- all the way to room. Dated. Broken elevator. Not enough seats for breakfast

Really wish the website for this hotel was updated in real time to show that the bar, restaurant and pool/gym were closed (no reason given). These were primary reasons I booked this place over many cheaper ones. Very disappointed. Just a regular room, very dirty carpet and small tub in disrepair. Nice folks tho, breakfast was good.

Great if you need a quick spot to crash. Elevator doesn't work. Bar permanently closed.

we stayed at the hotel 4 nights... when taking a shower, there was no hot water... we reached to front desk and was told maintenance would address this... 3 night, still no hot water, so we took light cool showers... it's summer, so the water really is not cold... so we bared it... on the last day, we needs to take our showers in another hotel room within the hotel that did have hot water... through all this i asked for the manager, repeatedly... and still to today july 19th, no answer back to me... on another note... this hotel cost was to have breakfast in the morning, and friday july 12th, there was no breakfast put out... i asked the front desk staff and they just said, the lady did not come in... and there was no second plan... lastly... this was hot days in july in alabama... i went to the pool to swim, and as i was swimming, some hotel pool guy hollered at me and others to get out of the pool... and said he put a chemical in and we cannot swim... this is 1pm in the afternoon on friday... really... we cannot swim... i feel a substantial refund is in order here... what is next steps...

No hot water to shower. Parking lot was trashed, me and my partner both got stung by bees at pool. Abd breakfast juices were watered down it tasted like water.

I actually booked this room for a friend that was in town. About 3am she felt a bite on her arm. Turns out it was a BED BUG! So that basically ruined her morning as it would anyone else! She left a note and the bed bug in a napkin for the housekeepers.

Front desk agent was very nice however this hotel is very dirty, and unkept. It seems like they don't have anyone maintaining the grounds or regular cleaning of the inside of the hotel. The front lobby floor is very dirty. Floors, walls, and furniture needs to be professionally cleaned. Upon leaving the elevator floor had a huge spill on it with a wet floor sign instead of it being mopped up. The rooms aren't cleaned well at all. The bathroom floors are extremely dirty especially the grout lines. Carpets are full of spills and spots. The rooms have a funky smell due to the AC units not being on consistently. The staff was nice, but they obviously need more staff and a company to come in to help it get to a standard of clean that is acceptable. If I would have seen the real photos showing the current condition of the property vs the nice photos on Expedia, I would have stayed elsewhere.

I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. There was black mold in the room we stayed in and the floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. There were toenail clippings along the bedside. We kept our shoes on throughout the stay. We were definitely concerned about security. The area did not feel safe. The door to enter the hotel did not lock. I would not recommend.

The room next was smoking weed. It reeked. Hair in the bathroom. Peeling paint. Trim coming off the walls. Looked like a short term stay for nomads. Bed was not made. Disgusting. We did not stay.

Do not stay here. Was very dirty, bugs in bed. People hanging out at front followed us to our room and tried to rob us. Police had to get contacted. Very unsafe. Do not trust the picture online. Lobby is in okay condition but rooms are absolutely awful. Do not stay here.

Our room was on the 2nd floor. The hallway was smelly and dirty. The stair was dark and lot of trash. The place needs to be cleaned up to continue business.

Staff was friendly, a/c in room was excellent, rooms were older, but bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room was clean and would stay here again.

After I sprayed everything including the bed down with Lysol it was better..The room was hot but didnt take long to cool and being on the 2nd floor was alot better than being on the 1st.You only have 3 channels on the tv,the wifi didnt work,NEVER HAD ANY HOT WATER TO SHOWER(ALWAYS COLD)...Only thing good was the a/c worked good ,bed was comfortable and liked being on the 2nd floor..NEVER NEVER STAY ON THE 1ST FLOOR BUT THAT WAS THE LAST TIME WE WILL BE STAYING THERE ANYMORE....

Room and hallways are old and need refreshing. Doors to outside, including one in room are very difficult to push open-needs new tracks and trim. Television has no guide and only a few channels.

Staff was good. The room A/C barely worked. The toilet ran all night long the water didn’t get hot enough. And for the price it should be a refrigerator in the room to keep your drinks or food in.

TV cable was lost for most of the guests. Leaky faucet. Reported, not fixed while I was there. Maybe after I left.

Clean room. Air conditioning/heater good. Old matrasses but sheets/blanket were comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Good WiFi. Television service was poor. Breakfast was below average. Lobby was very cold (outdoor temperature was low 30s). Trashy area at back of hotel.

Got to the hotel checked in and did not have any TV service all weekend. They did not mention it at the front desk when i checked in. Nor did they try to accommodate for the inconvenience for not having and TV service. If I had known that i wouldn’t have stayed there for that weekend. A room with no TV, is crazy for your stay there.

There was no cable/television working on the entire property according to staff. However, the lobby tv was working. No further explanation. Was not a well maintained property and would not recommend.

Initially, when I walked into the hotel, it looked nice. But once the clerk gave me my keys, and I started walking down the hall it got worse and worse. Not to mention that they gave me keys to someone else’s room, and I walked into their room. When I went down to let them know, they never apologize just said that the housekeepers made a mistake.

We had a ground floor room with an interior and exterior door. It was actually quite convenient. Room and facilities are about what you'd expect for the price. Staff were ok. Our towels weren't removed from the room which I didn't expect them to be. Requested them at front desk and was told I'd have to bring all the wet towels to the desk to get clean ones. I've never had to do that in my life! Brought a huge load of wet towels and washcloths to front desk and was told to drop them back in the staff area. Then the employee argued with me about how many I just dropped (seriously said, "That doesn't look like 4 towels, I'll give you 3") and would only give me 3 clean ones (we had 4 people in the room). He then proceeded to leave the hotel and when I chased him out he said he dropped them on the other side of the desk and didn't tell me. The whole interaction was just so strange. I get people steal hotel towels but he just watched all 4 of us walk to our room (after rekeying our key cards that quit working) and clearly I had dropped soaking wet towels back on their floor. I'll laugh about it someday. You get what you pay for.

Short staffed, it took 45 minutes to check in. The television did not function.

So far I have been charged by the hotel and hotels.com for the room both and I'm waiting for one to refund me. Not happy about this.

We arrived at the hotel early Saturday morning (myself, husband, and 8 yr old son), however, we were told by the front desk that it was too early to check in but, we could leave our bags in the office, if needed. We declined to leave our bags and headed back out. But before leaving, my husband notified the front desk attendant that we were in town for a baseball tournament and would return later to check in sometime after 4PM. Upon returning to the hotel, we were told by the very same front desk attendant that the room with double beds ,which we prepaid, was not longer available, however, we could be placed in a king room which is problematic when you have 3 people in your party. The front desk staff was extremely unorganized, understaffed and very unfriendly. One of the staff members even proceeded to argue back and forth with myself and my husband threatening to call the police on us and also telling us if we weren't happy, we could take our business elsewhere. Ultimately, we ended up in a first floor room that we extremely dated, dingy, and in my opinion not very safe as it had two entrances, one at the back and the front of the room, and one entrance led right out into the parking lot from the first floor which I think is unsafe for a child. The breakfast also wasn't good. I was very unhappy with both the staff and the room at this hotel. It was a horrible experience especially after spending all day in the hot sun and just wanting to relax and take a hot shower.

Check in was Great !!!!!!!! Morning checkout not very nice, The guy working the counter was in the office and took awhile to come out. Once he did I asked him where I needed to drop off my room key or do I just hand it to him. He never acknowledged my question and just turned around and walked back in the office. I just left the key on the counter. 2 other guests at breakfast was complaining about his behavior as well, at least I know I did nothing wrong. Not sure if he was just too busy doing other things or he was having some personal issues.

They claimed I had no reservation, so it was over an hour before I was allowed in my room. I had no hot water; therefore, breakfast was minimal because there was no hot water. Service was poor.

Common areas were not clean. Only one elevator worked. Locks on stairwells did not lock. Long walk to elevator after realizing locks on stairways did not work. Breakfast area could be stocked better especially at 6:30 am. Bell at front desk did not work, why have it? Bed was comfortable, room clean hotel is outdated but it is a huge property that could be even better.

This is my second stay at this hotel. It is convenient to McFarland Park. There is plenty of parking for boats.

The Clarion Inn Sheffield Muscle Shoals greatly exceeded my wife's and my expectations. It provided excellent value for the money and an excellent breakfast. The hotel was nice, the room clean and modern. The neighborhood was good and a person could feel safe and not be worried about their car. It was a place that I could recommend and not have to worry about the guest being disappointrd.

This place is dated however we had a great stay. Clean. Bed was great. Shower was amazing. Great water pressure. Fizz, the restaurant/bar in the hotel was awesome. Great live music and good food. All in all a great value for the price.

No hot water which translates into two days without a shower. Let that sink in. A toilet that ran every 12 minutes and kept my wife awake. Charles,who was great, moved us. The second room the toilet was fine but still no hot water. When I first tried to shower I stepped in and almost fell. The tub was slippery and no rubber mat to be found. The breakfast Sat morning was virtually non existent. No anything. Sunday was awesome. Staff was lovely but it seemed like they were over worked. The hotel also needs some sort of fly mitigation. Flies all over the place in the dining area.

Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Air conditioner worked great and no stickiness in the room. The room had a comfortable sitting chair which was nice. Breakfast had a lot of options (both hot and cold) and several protein options. Room and hotel was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly. I would stay here again!
