Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lillington/Campbell University

Not a great place to stay. We arrived to find out I had mistakenly reserved a smoking room. The front desk offered to change rooms, but only had non-smoking suites at a $67 per night upcharge. Walked into the room and it smelled like old weed. The TV was on top of an armoire nearly touching the ceiling. The bathroom sink would not give cold water and only a trickle of hot. But the tub made up for it by having a constant drip with the drain looking moldy. Would have been 1 stars except the staff did their jobs and the pool was nice outside. Did not like that the door to the parking lot was never secured overnight as we came in at 11 and it just pulled open.

We had an excellent stay at Microtel Inn & Suites. The first thing that impressed me was you can tell the staff are all pretty close knit & they seem happy with their jobs. The rooms are a bit dated, but the staff do an outstanding job of keeping it super clean. All of the staff was extremely helpful & took wonderful care of us. There was even an issue with the number/size of our beds (not their fault - third party booking misrepresented the room) & they were able to accommodate us on short notice. The pool is nice & secluded in the back of the lot. There is a restaurant & Shell gas station right next door & a Waffle House within walking distance. There are grocery stores & plenty of restaurants very close by.

So disappointed with this hotel! Upon arrival, we noticed how uncomfortably hot the building was. Even with the a/c in our room on max, the room was hot all night and we were sweating in the beds! The layout of the room prevents air from going past the first bed, but it still cycles back on itself and the first bed area is only marginally cooler than the rest of the room. The beds themselves- the worst I’ve encountered in years and years of frequent travel. They were extremely hard and my boyfriend said he couldn’t adjust without feeling a spring. I have no idea how the pillows were even worse, like a giant heavy brick wrapped in a pillowcase. My 5 yo tossed and turned all night, my 10 yo coughed all night, and we were both so uncomfortable and hot that we were all zombies the next day. While everything in the room seemed very clean, that’s the most praise I can offer. The bathroom was stifling, and we had to flush the toilet multiple times to get the paper to go down. There was a mini fridge, no microwave or coffee pot though. The hotel seemed clean, but even with notices of no smoking and a waiver that is signed upon arrival, the hallway smelled horribly of weed and my kids noticed. The pool area was nice and seemed well maintained, but the towels were tiny and even my 10 yo needed 2. The breakfast was pretty typical, but I’ve had better quality at several lower end hotels. Overall, I would not recommend this place, especially for the price!

Wonderful staff. Neat, clean, well kept hotel outside and inside. Plenty of safe, well lit parking. Rooms are nice, clean, spacious, comfortable temperature. Breakfast area clean, neat, organized, basic but sufficient breakfast offerings.

The doors on the side of the hotel did not have a lock. Usually, all exterior doors have a lock, and you need a hotel key to get in. Anyone could come inside the hotel because there was no lock.

Although the parking lot at the front was a bit small, there was more parking around back. Could use a couple more handicap parking spaces, but otherwise was fine. The rooms were clean. There was a pool, but we weren't able to utilize it this trip. We will return

The pool is only open in the warm seasons so it is misleading to suggest it has a pool all year. The breakfast buffet was very, very limited.

It was clean, the pool was nice. What ruined the stay for me and my family, its better off to bring your own pillows. The bed was lumpy and the pillows were basically not useful. The staff in its self were great.

It works if you’re looking for a place to stay in lillington. Not a cheap hotel but not the fancy hotel either. Food was fair, mattress was fine. Pool was decent

Amazing staff, but the smell of cigarette (or other) smoke in the hallways and stairwells was horrible. My room was non-smoking, but obviously the previous guest smoked a pack a day in there. The pillows, mattress, walls, carpet, everything needed to be replaced. The woman at the front desk was wonderful and kind and helped me change rooms, but NO hotel should allow smoking in ANY room.

Nothing. Despite the hotel's positive reviews, our room was in unacceptable condition: * There were visible roaches. * The blankets had holes in them. * There was hardened gum stuck to the bed frame. * The room smelled strongly of cigarettes for the entire stay.

Bathroom had mold all over the ceiling. Mini fridge was moldy. We brought theses issues to the attention of management and nothing was done.

This place had earwigs all over my room. Also random bugs. Was looking for a quick place to stay after visiting my husband at fort Bragg. Breakfast options are very limited as well.

I thought I was staying with Wyndham and not a Motel 6.... my room was shabby at best.... the TV was old and somewhat cloudy and there was a nightstand that wasn't fully affixed to the wall so it was at an angle. The shower plug was not attached to the pipe and they had no shampoo in the room..... The staff was very friendly though! The free breakfast was not up to par either.... waffles and hard boiled eggs.... or a microwave sausage biscuit.

Convenient to Campbell University and very affordable. Unfortunately, smoking seems to be allowed in some areas. Terrible smell in hallways. Room was clean but overall very small.

Staff was very friendly, property was very clean. Only negative thing was that I had to keep taking my key card to the front desk to be reprogrammed to open my door (x3), and the beds and pillows were not very comfortable. (Stiff)

Every 10 minutes the air conditioner would make a god awful noise for like 2/3 minutes. It was essentially like an alarm clock every ten minutes. When it’s 100 degrees outside unfortunately turning it off wasn’t an option. Pretty aggravating say the least. Their breakfast was very very minimal. Other than that. Room was clean.

Checked in Monday, left Friday. Housekeeping came in room only once to drop towels when i asked if they could leave towels and empty trash . They did not empty trash. We had been out of room by 1030. Never made beds once. When I asked for extra blankets, they came with cigarette burn holes. Beds were hard. Pillows lumpy and hard. So uncomfortable. I emptied my own trash , had to go get my own t.p. Paper, and go desk for towels , when we got home late at night

Staff was incredible - friendly, helpful, pleasant. Property is showing it’s age and is very noisy - elevator chimes, doors closing, people talking in halls.

The staff were all wonderful. Very kind, professional, quick to assist, helpful, etc. Zero issues with staff! The room, however, left a LOT to be desired, unfortunately. The water from our shower head didn’t even reach my husband’s shoulders (he’s 5’10”, for reference). It was great for all 5’3” of me when it came to not getting my hair wet, still…not ideal. Our mattress was nothing short of abysmal, truly thought I had sat on just a boxspring when I first arrived, yikes. Painful sleep all 3 nights of our stay due to the low quality mattress that was painfully pressing into my joints & lower back. Bathroom sink had been completely cracked in half with a sloppy repair & there were obviously painted over water bubbles & mold sites from water damage in the ceiling. First year visiting Lillington for my in-laws holiday gathering & while I was thankful to find a hotel in Lillington, & again, the staff was pleasant, I can’t say we would ever repeat book here again. Beyond the above issues, the walls are truly paper-thin & they would do well to invest in sound dampening measures because trying to fall asleep to your neighbor gagging so bad on phlegm they were vomiting wasn’t the magical holiday vibes I was hoping for my first Christmas in North Carolina. This spot for me is a last resort, stay only if you absolutely MUST, & literally have no other options…..Travelers, beware.

Uncomfortable bed. Very small room. Would not recommend

My room had a horrible odor like sewage in the bathroom . We got in late and I didn’t have the energy to ask for a different room so we dealt with it. When we checked in, there was no one at the desk. I rang the bell several times but no one came for 5 minutes, no apology. I went to check out at 4:30 am and the desk person was sound asleep on the chair in the back office. I left my keys and walked out without he/she even knowing. Security is obviously nonexistent if the desk person is MIA or sleeping.

Upon check in I was denied an accessible room with a roll in shower and was told they were very limited and did not have the two beds. My wife is in a surgical boot at the moment utilizing a knee scooter to get around. Even though I reserved two queen beds accessible the room I stayed in had two beds, but was not queen size bedsThe elevator and halls often smelled like pot. I was only in town for a weekend for a family celebration and chise not to soend valuable time addressing this with I did not want to spend valuable time addressing this with the staff but wanted to make sure I noted dissatisfaction once I received the survey

Easy checkin and friendly service

Everything was ok service wise...but I paid for my room for one night with my bank card, the other 2 nights with my credit card. Several days later, with no notice they removed the room from my bank card and put it on my credit card, resulting in more interest and overage charges. Would not stay here again. Really mad about that. Also woke up to a damaged windshield. Never again.

This property was very clean. We felt safe staying there. Check-in & check-out was so simple. Next time we visits family in Lillington we will definitely stay here again. Price was very reasonable. For a small fee we could have early check-in or late check-out. These fees could be waived if we were a Rewards Member. We will check into achieving this before our next trip.

Decent hotel close to Campbell University. Not super clean but ok for a few nights. Do not expect to be able to use Nextflix or streaming services. The tv is very old. Otherwise staff is friendly and the area is safe. The restaurant next door is convenient and delicious.

Room was comfy with cute window seat. Free breakfast was awful! Not edible. Went next door to waffle house instead.

The room and hotel were not well maintained and the room was not as clean as we would have liked. The free breakfast, which included waffles and all the usual continental breakfast options, was fine. I don’t think there were many other options in the area, but I wouldn’t stay here again if I could find other options.

You need a better breakfast

We have stayed her before and was happy to book again for our second visit to Lillington. We are very disappointed with the breakfast offerings during this stay. No Eggs were offered and the sausage biscuit was not very tasty. Several mornings the area was not tended to and we had to ask for plates and coffee. We ended up getting breakfast elsewhere.

Bathrooms are small. Easy to find. Microwave and room refrig. No oj at breakfast.
