A lovely hotel and very accommodating. They were happy to store my bike for me overnight and looked after my bag before and after check in. A great selection on the tea tray and a lovely touch with the radio in the room playing classical music when I arrived. It was a relaxing stay

I still love the hotel and its location. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The one thing that lets the hotel down is the vast amount of dogs staying. I love dogs, but when you only have a weekend away, to hear a dog howling next door isn’t very relaxing. I think it great people can take their pets with them but maybe there should be a limit of the amount allowed as it appears to have increased quite a lot over the years. The room was lovely and clean, but we ran out of toilet paper and had no hand towels on our second day. All of which I’m certain would have been rectified immediately had a asked! Overall well worth a visit. Thank you

I like the hotel and don't want to be too negative, but I told them ahead of time that I was getting engaged and they didn't do anything to try and make it feel special. I booked the most expensive room available on the website with the hope that they'd throw in something like a few rose petals on the bed or like a fun towel folded into a heart. I had prebooked some strawberries and champagne for the room which weren't there when we arrived and I had to go down and chase them for these. When we were checking on they said flippantly 'you should have said ahead of time'... I was emailing about this 3 months ago about this. I also asked for a vase for our flowers, which I didn't think was a crazy request from a guest, but the response was again not rude but a bit like I was being unreasonable. Also after dinner me and my fiance went for a drink outside and a staff member came out and said 'ill charge the dinner to the room' after I had already paid for it in the restaurant. Not the special touches I was hoping for. Overall, I love this hotel it has so many special memories for me and I will have these forever, which is why I chose to stay here for my proposal, but I would say I am a bit disappointed with the service and hope that this feedback gets read as I think with such small changes it would have been more magical (literally something as small as putting the towels as a heart would have shown you cared)

Very cosy, clean room. Tea, coffee, biscuits. Courteous and helpful staff. Good evening meal and breakfast choices. Pleasant garden.

I really loved the suite that we had booked it had a balcony that overlooked the garden . The hotel was ok . A bit tired in places . Menu for evening was ok . Breakfast was a buffet which didn’t really suit me . I asked for an omelette which they did make but I was reminded twice that it wasn’t really on the menu ….Otherwise all was ok
