The property is clearly in process of a makeover with the Bar/Restaurant/Lounge areas already completed and if the rooms hat a fraction of this it will be an amazing location. The staff were excellent, could not be more polite and efficient throughout. Will definitely stay when next in the area

Wasn’t expecting much for the price but I was proved wrong. From the I initial check in to leaving at 3am, the reception staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was large, very clean and a decent bathroom. Free onsite parking and plenty of it. Would use again if flying from Gatwick.

The hotel is in lovely grounds with easy access from the car park to reception. It is undergoing refurbishment and I think that will make it a very good hotel overall. The walk in shower was fitted to make it accessible, but the grouting is due for renewal. The lighting could be better in the room, plus a magnifying mirror would also be beneficial in the bathroom. It was quiet and the bed comfortable . I would recommend it for a short stay.

Beautiful location and the Hotel was well run with friendly staff and in very good condition clean and large rooms. It was great value for money with a spacious Bar and Dining area with a well kept garden for sitting outside. Station close by and only a short trip to the beautiful Guilford

Unfortunately put in a room with other rooms being refurbished. Arrived after 4hour journey needed to rest but consistent banging and drilling which did not stop until just before 6pm although notice said work being done between 9 -5 pm. We seemed to be the only ones occupying a room in this section of hotel wasn’t told when we booked. Not one to make a fuss but felt like the poor relations!

We were lucky to have one of the refurbished rooms which was so lovely. Everything was clean, tidy and beautifully presented. The bathroom had both a bath and a shower and was quite spacious.We had some bar food and a drink which was nice and the gent behind the bar was very friendly and chatty. This is a very old building which I think adds to its charm. It is going through a renovation to put new life into an old building. The only improvement I think would be to the breakfast service. If you were staying on your own you would struggle as there is nowhere to put the lid down to then use the utensil to pick up the breakfast item whilst holding your plate. It would be advantageous to have a hinged serving plate. The serving area seemed way too small for the restaurant area and covers. all in all it was a lovely stay and I would return.

Comfortable room cleanliness excellent although we had a chipped bathroom sink the plumbing was noisy . The cooked breakfast was good. The selection of fruit was limited and no brown bread or rolls . We were offered a room change but as we had settled into our room and it was late we decided not to move. I think the room should have been checked prior to our arrival.

Nice large rooms, good comfortable bed. Breakfast nice, staff friendly. Only downside, the hot water took forever to come through, water spurted out the shower head in all directions soaking the bathroom before falling off!

A beautiful building in a stunning village. The staff were amazing, very friendly and accommodating. The room was immaculate and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was fantastic. The bar was wonderful and the food was to die for. I highly recommend Thatchers and will definitely be back again in the future. We had a very comfortable stay , the rooms are decorated to a high standard and the bathroom is incredibly clean. We are dinner in the restaurant , the food was of a good quality and value for money. Breakfast was ok.

Both the Hotel and restaurant were very nice. The room was clean and beds were comfy but I personally didn’t like the pillows and the carpet was threadbare in places.. some of the furniture and bathroom fittings had seen better days so definitely not top marks. Restaurant and bar were great and the food was excellent. Parking was easy so that was a bonus.

Greeted warmly upon arrival. Room was in good condition however the free WiFi did not reach our room and neither my husband or I could access it. Added to this there was no phone signal on O2 and only one bar on 3 this did cause us some problems as we needed to keep in touch with our autistic daughter and were unable to. Please don’t advertise free WiFi for the rooms if it doesn’t reach them. We had breakfast the next morning. Service was good but very slow. Waited over half an hour for scrambled eggs on toast. In summary a reasonable stay but if you are in room 110 you won’t be able to use WiFi.

Room was spacious and had all the essentials needed. Especially grateful for the fan this weekend as it’s been warm. Would have liked to have been able to open the windows wider but understand they are restricted for safety reasons. Bed was very comfortable had 2 great nights sleep. Food was lovely, we had breakfast included all very fresh and lovely quality. Prawn risotto was amazing! Hotel is beautiful inside and outside. All members of staff polite and lovely. I would stay again.

Shower needed repair, broken electric wall socket not a big deal,lovely staff generally quite and a lovely location, road noise but not overly loud, I'm very sensitive to noise, so only annoying part was a hearing test type of tone that was persistent through the night it was there one night and not the next. The nature and Horsley towers were beautiful, reasonably priced stay.

Lovely hotel, very quiet, great room for our family of 4. Only negatives would be the limited breakfast choices, especially for the children with the set prices at £15, and we couldn't pick up the wifi connection in our room.

The staff were great and the food was lovely (and a great variety too) but the lids that you have to take off to access the food was troublesome and frustrating. If you were staying on your own you would struggle as there is nowhere to put the lid down to then use the utensil to pick up the breakfast item whilst holding your plate. It would be advantageous to have a hinged serving plate. The serving area seemed way too small for the restaurant area and covers. all in all it was a lovely stay and I would return.
We were lucky to have one of the refurbished rooms which was so lovely. Everything was clean, tidy and beautifully presented. The bathroom had both a bath and a shower and was quite spacious.We had some bar food and a drink which was nice and the gent behind the bar was very friendly and chatty. This is a very old building which I think adds to its charm. It is going through a renovation to put new life into an old building. The only improvement I think would be to the breakfast service. Arrived at scheduled time for check in. Was told had to wait for over an hour because room wasn't ready due to private party running over. Eventually got room. Shower only in boiling water. Broken thermostat. Given another room. This one wasn't even prepared! So, we get a 3rd room!! I had a course to go on, so got up early for breakfast and was told I'd have to wait. I only wanted porridge, so bad to leave. Not all bad though. Dinner was nice to no honest. No phones in the rooms too call front desk. And not allowed to charge incidental to the room, like most hotels!! No room service. On one occasion after the room clean, the tea cups were left on the toilet cistern. All in all, not one of the best places I've stayed at.

Greeted warmly upon arrival. Room was in good condition however the free WiFi did not reach our room and neither my husband or I could access it. Added to this there was no phone signal on O2 and only one bar on 3 this did cause us some problems as we needed to keep in touch with our autistic daughter and were unable to. Please don’t advertise free WiFi for the rooms if it doesn’t reach them. We had breakfast the next morning. Service was good but very slow. Waited over half an hour for scrambled eggs on toast. In summary a reasonable stay but if you are in room 110 you won’t be able to use WiFi.

On arrival the staff were excellent. So friendly, polite and efficient. This includes the reception, restaurant, bar and the cleaners. The room was very clean with all facilities required (an excellent shower). There has been a lot of renovation to exterior and lounge/bar/restaurant with what I understand rooms in the agenda. Breakfast procedure, staff and food was excellent. We will definitely return again when in the area

The property is clearly in process of a makeover with the Bar/Restaurant/Lounge areas already completed and if the rooms hat a fraction of this it will be an amazing location. The staff were excellent, could not be more polite and efficient throughout. Will definitely stay when next in the area

The service was shocking; I had to wait 8 minutes for a table. Then the waitress started by saying We are busy, you will have to wait for your drinks. This is not what I expected, then to top it off, I had to wait nearly 45 minutes for a bowl of porridge.

We stayed 4 nights at Thatchers hotel, East Horsley. We asked for a spacious room as we had a wedding to attend and clothes to lay out. We also asked for twin beds, few stairs, a lift if possible, oat milk, Bran Flakes and an iron and ironing board. All these were provided, just as requested. Beautiful is a short word to describe the hotel. We really loved it, a little far from the city (40min by train) but it's totally worth it. In fact, it is the perfect opportunity to get to know the "non-tourist" part of the city. We would definitely return!

A great deal of the hotel as been refurbished and the rest is underway. The lounge, bar and restaurant are nice, as was our room. Excellent full English breakfast for me and vegetarian breakfast for my wife.

Lovely hotel, very quiet, great room for our family of 4. Only negatives would be the limited breakfast choices, especially for the children with the set prices at £15, and we couldn't pick up the wifi connection in our room.

Really nice hotel, lovely and clean room, the beds were really comfortably only problem i can say i had with our room is that the shower door didnt close properly.unfortunately the breakfast really let this place down , i had a full vegetarian breakfast as the waiter took my order i said that i didnt want the vegetarian sausage or any meat substitute, i was interrupted by the waiter staiting that its not a meat substitute and walked off didnt give me chance to say i also didnt want mushroom. My breakfast comes it has a pathetic looking vegi sausage thing ,that im told isnt fake meat, (if i said i didnt want something, i dont want it ,not a excuse )half a plate of burnt mushroom, extremely bland i expect out of a box scrambled egg that was soggy and a pot of cheap cold beans, and 2 cook from frozen greasy hash browns that tasted like they were cooked it meat my partner had a full breakfast that didnt look any better, and he said was quite bland . I didnt eat my breakfast and the waitress asked if i had a problem i said i already sait i didnt want this sausage substitute, i was given it anyway and the food was awful she offered to get me something else but i declined. In my opinion the breakfast and the staff serving it were not in keeping with the rest of the hotel.

We arrived earlier than the check in time as had mailed the hotel a few days before to see if we could check in earlier but received a standard reply which did not answer our query. Reception unattended and had to wait about 15 mins for someone despite ringing bell and using the phone as instructed. Finally apppeared after the guest in front of us went to find someone and were told they would be out soon as they were making coffees. Were advised we could check in early but at an additional cost of £10 per hour which we declined as we were happy to leave our belongings in the car. When we did return to later in the evening again found reception to be unmanned and had to wait around 10 mins for someone to appear. Given a room on the second floor - the lift was not working, not an issue for us but could be for someone with mobility issues. The corridors were very hot. We had read reviews previously regarding the heat in the rooms and decided to bring our own fan, we are glad we did as the room was very warm. Room was lovely, clean and decorated to a good standard Decided to pop to the bar for a nightcap had one drink - bar had run out of Prosecco. Was instructed the bar was closing around 10.45, early for a hotel! Did had a good nights sleep. Shower very odd and ran hot and cold intermittently no matter what setting you had it on.
